Ruglan, it seems, it determined. His vision clouded from loss of blood, the watchman swings at Gulkhu's neck but his blade is intercepted by that barbed shortsword, still dripping with his blood.

An early Merek Lek phrase, Fight smarter, not harder, comes to mind with Ruglan's comment.
"Very well.", he murmurs, "Madragar back up!"
[Hold action until Madragar backs up or Ruglan drops at which time I will shoot at the first clear target. I assume I can't see #11.]
[Atan can't see #11, and Madragar will have a chance to backup before Gulkhu strikes again. -GM]

Madragar has absolutely no problem giving up his foe. Harried, bloody, and half-blind with the sweat running unimpeded over his shaved pate, the wizard steps suddenly backwards upon hearing the warrior's command.
"Time to go," he says to the poisoner brute.

The moment Madragar steps backward, Atan looses his arrow. The missile streaks down through the darkness and just as the jackal is about to leap on Madragar once more it dodges backward, one taloned paw reaching into the space where its head was a split second earlier. Poised in mid-air like a dragonfly in amber, Atan's arrow hangs suspended midway between Madragar and the glazing yellow eyes of the broo. With a flick of its wrist the beast snaps the arrow in half and throws the pieces contemptuously to the ground.

The jackal leaps on Madragar, and this time his defense is not up to the task. The thing drives its fist into his abdomen, scraping a deep furrow in his flesh with its bladed ring, and lets the wizard drift slowly to the ground, unconscious.
Gulkhu tries to knock Ruglan off balance with a sudden, all out attack, but the watchman is ready and parries each wild blow.
Meneloss' luck, at last, runs out. The broo finds another stone and hurls it down on the unconscious elf. The blunt object smashes into his forehead (20!), ignominously scattering his bones against the stone wall. The elf wizard's snake, though unhurt by the encounter, suddenly goes stiff and dies on the spot.

Ruglan weaves to the left, nearly falls over, weaves right, almost falls over again, and lashes out at the muscled monster looming over him. His blade punctures Gulkhu's armor, his flesh, and cuts a tiny hole in the creature's lung. Gulkhu staggers back, blood gurgling out of its mouth. The thing tries to speak some hideous curse at the watchman, but its eyes roll back and Gulkhu falls to the ground. Thud...

With no time to admire his handywork, Ruglan positions himself below Atan, with his back against the wall. "Now it's your turn Jackalhead!" he taunts.

As Gulkhu falls Atan wastes not a momment with the seemingly major victory. Another arrow is nocked and he looses at Jackal, almost falling off the wall in his eagerness. "You can't stop them all!"

Atan fires another arrow from his quickly dwindling supply. The missile passes right through the jackal's outstretched fingers and buries itself in the thing's chest. The broo staggers backward and hits the wall, slowly sliding to the ground, alive but immobile and bleeding badly.
The last broo rounds the corner after finishing off Meneloss with the elf's sword in his hand. The beast stares blankly at the scene of carnage and the bloodied human standing before him, then back down at the black hulk of Gulkhu. The broo drops Meneloss' blade and runs up the slick hallway, reaching the barricade in a few swift strides.

Not wanting Meneloss's murderer to escape Atan feverishly tracks the running Broo. Just as it approachs the barricade he compensates for advance and fires.
[not sure what the range is but +5 minus rng/2d6]

Ruglan will dispatch the Jackalheaded beast and then start to aid the fallen.. Ruig and Sangraal he will check first. Hopefully they will be able to help the others soon..

Atan puts an arrow in the back of the broo's calf, sending the creature tumbling against the barricade and howling in pain. It's feral eyes stare up into the darkness but it cannot see its attacker. The thing is, however, still alive.
Ruglan rushes over to where the two priests lay in pools of blood. Sangraal is pale, unconscious and bleeding, but alive. Ruig is very dead.

Atan lets his bow fall from his sweaty grip to clatter to the floor. Flipping forward he moves intently downward as fast as his hands and feet can carry. "Ruglan check Sangraal! I'll go grab my healing kit."
As soon as he hits the floor Atan breaks into a dead sprint back for the stairs to where the healing kit and medical supplies lay.
