Re: Piece of the urinary tract.
After a time Draxim attempts to compose himself. Ruig would have wanted him to show some decorum. He trundles off toward the smithie with the intent to make fitting burial badges for the three fallen heroes.

Its so sad....
Sangraal deeply moved by outpouring of emotion from Draxim starts to rise with the intent of comforting but stops as Draxim trundles off to find the smithie.

"Lady Lyssa, I was wondering if we might be able to acquire a change of garments?"

Re: Its so sad....
To Atan, Lyssa replies "a month, a year, I doubt if even the Gorgon knows."

Turning to Sangraal, "well, we don't have spare garments on hand, but Raven's Gate is only a day's march from here."

Kezib remains silent, watching all that goes around him. Observing Draxims outpour, Kezib nods solemnly when Draxim moves off to the smitthy.

Pay attention to meeeeee
Atan watchs with pity as Draxim trundles out of the tent. "He is taking it hard.", he mumble to no one in particular. Looking back to Lyssa, "I have only two more questions and then we may eat our meal and talk of more pleasant things. Any word on the surviving Merek Lek? I would be interested in restablishing contact with them. And lastly, I would like to recover Yimris' body from Old Kurlew. Would it be wise to present myself to the new Keeper of the Mountain in an attempt to secure such?"

[Did those two Ghurugil say they were going to wait for us?]

[Yep, and being old crusty dwarves will probably stay up there until someone tells them otherwise. Though, the last thing they probably saw was an angry giant running up the mountainside. -GM]

Re: Pay attention to meeeeee
"Atan, I fear you may be the last of that valiant band. I saw none of the Merek Lek escape from the battle, though there may be a few scattered here and there... those that were not on Old Kurlew that fateful night. I honestly don't know. It seems that for the moment Dobrug will have to fend for itself."

"As for Yimris, I don't believe Daemagu would allow anyone into the fortress, even me. He is new to this land, and knows not friend from foe. It wouldn't surprise me if the new Lord of the Mountain simply hurled all the bodies he found into the chasm."

"I'm sorry to see such a couragous companion treated in that way, but it could work to our advantage. The Shadow can speak with the dead, but only if it has some part of the deceased. For now it does not know the names or faces of those that defeated Gulkhu. You may find it much safer with the broo and Yimris at the bottom of the chasm."

Bummed by the not unexpected answer, "Very well. It may be for the best, but he was a good, if not eccentric, friend. His blade of Humakt is lost as well I suppose." Atan sets to heartedly eating and drinking his fill. Once the dinner is complete he thanks Lyssa for her timely rescue and subsequent care.

[After dinner Atan will wash himself and all his clothes in the stream (he will request a temporary loaner set). His clothes are probably stained on the cuffs but since I wasn't hit they should be still servicable. He will also inspect his armor and all his gear before retiring for the night.]

Ghurugil
"Yes, Draxim, I can," says Madragar. "An excellent suggestion."

He whispers instructions to the sleek raven to find the two dwarves at the foot of the mountain and say to them "Madragar says we have left the mountain. Ruig is dead. Come to the Braithevaille."

Re: Ghurugil
"That is a good idea Draxim. I was thinking of side tracking to find them but your suggestion is much better.", says Atan as he finishes off his last bit of food on his plate. "Lyssa brought up a good point. Chaos still does not know of us or that we slayed Ghulku and prevented the pit from being opened. Maybe carrying Gulkhu's head around may draw unnecessary and possibly dangerous attention to ourselves. I thought we could present it to the Ghurugil but there are friends of Chaos in Raven's Gate who make take action against us. We can burn it on the pyre of Meneloss as an offering to Urox and I will chop of a piece of antler for Ruig."

Kezib, watching the cleric move off to bed, does the same. After saying his prayers, unfurls his bedroll and is quickly asleep.

Nighty Night, Bugs
As the others drift off to sleep, Madragar remains quietly behind, waiting for the opportunity to speak to the great sorceress alone.

Re: Nighty Night, Bugs
Eventually the dinner is concluded, conversations trail off into increasingly frequent yawns, and the group retires to the guest tents for some much needed sleep.

Draxim wanders off in search of his smithy but finds only a modest anvil and the dying embers of a forge. Perhaps tomorrow.

Re: Nighty Night, Bugs
Dawn creeps into the Grove like candlelight wriggling through cotton. The deep mists of the place linger among the massive oaks, defying the morning sun.

Sangraal and Kezib are joined by three of the Grovewardens (Saala, Dalqarai, and Bahraen) who share a frosty hillock at the eastern edge of the camp as they greet the morning sun.

Before Yelm is more than an orange glow on the horizon much of the camp is awake and moving. A large central fire is stoked into life and the Grovewardens break their fast.

Suns Up... so should you!
Sangraal welcomes the morning ritual of FirstLight. The first time in many days in which he has been able to greet Yelm as he rises into the sky.

Though he could still rest for a couple more days he finds him self asking the same question over and over again.
"Now what?"
Content to hold his tongue till speaking further with Lyssa, Sangraal goes to spend a little time in reflection by the now properly shrouded and prepared bodies of Ruig and Meneloss.
His final farewells to his former companions are short and without outward signs of emotion.

Afterwards Sangraal reverently slips away and returns to the main tent in search of Lyssa and a little breakfast.

Re: Suns Up... so should you!
Sangraal can see a pair of Grovewardens, dim figures nearly lost in the morning mist, preparing Meneloss' funeral pyre in a nearby clearing.

The elves are, in fact, taking their breakfast at a large central campfire, though Lyssa has yet to make an appearance. If she's anything like Madragar, Lyssa is probably deep in study, pouring over her spellbooks.

Re: Suns Up... so should you!
Atan wakes early when Sangraal departs through the tent flap. Laying in his bedroll for a while he concludes that, barring any new information from Lyssa, he will go with Draxim back to Raven's Gate. From there he will head back west towards the Nral valley to see if any Merek Lek survivors fled there for haven.

Rising from his warm bedroll, he stretchs out the kinks and lightley washs up. Putting on the clothes he washed the night before he heads outside. Bypassing the praying clerics he heads towards the wood pile near the fire pit.

Greeting the elven warriors arrayed around the warm embers he casually picks up the community hatchet with a few remarks that he will return it in just a few minutes. With smile set on face and the hatchet resting on his shoulder, he strides over towards the bound and gagged Jackel-head.

"Not just yet.", as he passes it by for the dismembered head of Gulkhu. With a couple of wacks he removes two, six inch antler points. One from each side of the lower half of the rack. Putting one in his pocket as he returns the hatchet, he takes the other and places it tucked inside a fold of Ruig's shroud. With that accomplished he heads back to break fast with the elven warriors around the fire.
