Re: Holy Water
[still ooc for now:
Maybe I should rephrase this:
Ulwe and Kaleb have no $$$
The rest each have some.
If Kenner Atan Sangraal Madaragar and Ruglan each spent 10 gold the party could get some holy water.
Those with cash would do well to help Madragar write at least 1 scroll which could greatly benefit the party later.
As a broke second stringer all I can do is suggest, but I think it is a good idea. Dead Party members don't get to spend thier gold ;0' ]

Re: Holy Water
Draxim would be happy to pitch in 20 gp for some Holy Water. He also LOANS 20 gp to both Ulwe and Kaleb.

Re: Holy Water
[OOC: sorry if this is out of place....But, lets take what we have, we are a bunch of poor ass bitches. If we sit here trying to come up with money, its gonna slow down the game. Those that have money, if they so chose, buy the needed eq. If they so choose to keep their money, so be it. Lets just move on, and get the game going......
The end....]

Re: Holy Water
[some of us are poor ass bitches- YOU and ULWE. The rest actually have a bit of scratch. The game is moving along, we just need to be prepared. We are all in agreement as to where we are going, so if we spend a few moments readying ourselves then our expedition has a better chance of sucess.]
Ulwe is overcome by Draxim's unsolicited generosity.
"Draxim you are truly a rich man to have such a heart of gold."
He takes the coins gratefully.
The other twenty coins which Draxim puts towards the purchace of the Holy Water Material components added to the twenty the kindly dwarf has lent the Aerendalen leaves only ten coins short.
"Who amongst you will add to this, so that the holy waters of Orlanth will accompany us into the dark places of the world?"
He looks to each member of the company, saving his last glance for Atan.

Re: Holy Water
Nodding to Draxim gratefully, Kaleb hads Ulwe 10 GP.
"This, that was given to me by Draxim, is, of course, the groups money, so it goes straight to the group. I thank you, Draxim, and mirror Ulwe's sentiments. You are indeed a rich dwarf."

"Well not anymore," Draxim roars jovially and reaches up to slap Kaleb on the shoulder. "Just wait till you see my interest rates!" He laughs some more, then as the tide of mirth ebbs he reveals, "I used to be an enforcer for a protection racket before I embarked on the path of the Storm Bull."

Smiling at the jovial dwarf, Kaleb responds "Some have taken darker paths but eventually, events or people lead them to lighter ones. But, whats important now, is the path your on now."

Re: Holy Water
Ulwe holds up his hands to stem the flow of coins.
"Brooslayer, hand your share to Draxim. With Kaleb's share I have more than enough to make two vials of Orlanth's Blessed Water."
Ulwe inquires with the Ghurugil about obtaining 10lb of silver powder to prepare his ritual of water purification.
[ooc: Madragar do you plan on making any scrolls? It could be a really good idea. Also a little ooc may help with your plans for Madragar just so we as players know what You as a player plan to do.]

Atan looks about as the flow of money comes pouring forth. Not being educated as a member of an organized church, "What is the holy water for?"

Re: Holy Water
Kaleb's joke cracks a smile on Atan's face, "More holes makes it lighter to carry." More chuckles.
"Seriously folks, how long will it take to make your holy water Ulwe? And does anybody else have a task besides Sangraal's flail reconstruction. If not then we will still plan for noon."
"Ruglan, are you still buying a horse? It would certainly be useful and would keep you well rested, but the rest of us don't have the cash. Actually if we want we could by a mule to carry the tents and such. Make our trip at little more comfortable. But we will most likely lose the animal at some point."
[Post your gear in the "Light!" topic. It is good for each of us to know what the others carry in the event of emergency (or death so we can sell your stuff). Turns out I do have some money and would put 4 gp towards a mule or pony.]

Re: Holy Water
"Tracker, when you are lurking in the undergrowth stalking your prey are you so anxious?
It will take me as long as it takes to obtain the silver powder. Then a few moments of privacy. If we obtain the powder I could summon my Lord's grace at our first rest by a cool stream."
At a quieter, more private moment Ulwe asks Draxim in a low voice:
"Kind Dwarf, what are the terms of this loan? Interest is something which we Hythriadi take very seriously. I pray you will not have to employ your previous 'talents' upon this vessel of Orlanth's will."
[ooc: just waiting to hear if the Ghurugil would have powdered silver for sale or where Ulwe could go to get it.]

some of the best things in life are free......
Atan laughs at Ulwe's barb and then shakes his head in disbelief at the uptight and moody Orlanthian priest. "No, no. I know nothing of your Holy water rituals and want an idea of how long it will take so we can make plans accordingly. Nothing more."
[Everyone chime in when you are ready to go.]

Re: some of the best things in life are free......
The Ghurugil don't have the powdered silver that Ulwe needs so the next morning he makes a visit to a local apothecary. The cost of the silver is as listed in the PHB (description of the Bless Water spell).
Also in the morning, Sangraal and Atan go out to haggle with some merchant over the price of a new bow for the ranger.
At some point before breakfast, Vala and Madragar slip out of the lodge.

Re: some of the best things in life are free......
Immediately after procuring the powdered silver,
(10lb!) Ulwe visits the Temple of the Ash Lion. There, from the small pool in the courtyard he scoops a bowl of water out of the still cold pond. Laying out his prayer mat, the Aerendalen pours one pouch of silver into the bowl while chanting in low Elven tones over the bowl. He passes his hand over the bowl and in an instant the silver miraculously has vanished and the beaten wooden vessel contains the purified Blessed Waters of Orlanth.
Carefully he pours the contents of his simple priest's begging bowl into a hand blown glass vial.
As soon as his ritual is complete, he returns to the lodge.
"Draxim..." he addresses the generous dwarf "...since you are of the sort which is prepared for any eventuality, I wish you to carry these precious drops."
He hands Draxim a small wooden box lined with felt. Inside is a blue globe of blown glass, stoppered with wax. Inside the vial is Holy Water.
[ooc: cast Bless Water. and ready...Ulwe keeps the 5lb of silver powder to cast another day...]
