Re: BacK at the Gate
Gudra, the steel-eyed Humakt priest, guides Sangraal and Madragar through the shadow filled streets of Raven's Gate at dusk. By the time they reach the Ghurugil Lodge, Atan has finished his tale and the main hall is shrouded in silence.

Re: BacK at the Gate
Atan stands at the sight of his two friends and the stranger, "Madragar, Sangraal. I assume your companion was the cause of your delay?"

Re: Back at the Gate
[I think the Humakt priest probably left us at the doors. Scott?]
Madragar nods. "A tale for another time, Atan. I have no wish to interrupt these solemn tidings."
He turns to the Ghurugil. "I mourn the loss of Ruig. His bravery saved our lives, but it was his wise and steady counsel that shall most be missed. In honor we shall always remember him."

Re: Back at the Gate
Atan catches a glimpse of a tall human warrior in knee-length chainmail through the open doors of the Lodge. The man watches Sangraal and Madragar enter, then moves on.
Savud stands at last, filling his chest with a deep breath of the warm oak-scented air. Grasping his ornate iron cane the blue-eyed greybeard taps it twice on the flagstones, bringing the Ghurugil out of their quiet contemplation.
"Yes, he will be remembered, for now until the end of our days. Forgive the inconvenience my friends, but you must take your evening meal in the town. Twilight will call the Ghurugil to mourn the passing of valiant Ruig, so the dawn will come with promise and hope for the living."

Re: Back at the Gate
Ulwe nudges the fidgeting Naredru. He then clears his throat.
"Friends, I know of a good tavern not far from here. It is called Raven's End. I have stayed there before and the host: a Master Dunkred was most accommodating. Let us depart quickly to leave the Ghurugil with their sorrow. Indeed tomorrow will bring a brighter day."
He makes for the exit with Naredru gathering his spear on the way out.

Lets drown our sadness in spirits!
Sangral bows to Savud in respect for the Lodges loss as he enters through the doorway. Upon hearing Savuads suggestion of dinner in town, Sangraal asks if we could find shelter in the Hall tonight. If shelter can not be provided then he asks when the service would be.
[OOC: Hmmm does Ravensgate have steam bathes? Nothing would be nicer them a long bath to clean the skin.]

Vala
"Sir," says Madragar to Savud, "can someone direct me to where the woman Vala might be found?"

Re: Vala
Many of the Ghurugil rise and depart the main hall, presumably to prepare for the ceremony later that evening. Vhraalam remains.
"Vala works at the Temple of the Ash Lion," he says. "As I understand it she sews vestments for the priests, and clothes they give to the poor. She should return soon."
[It is still several hours before dinner so you have plenty of time to dump your gear in the guest rooms and clean up your filthy, blood-stained selves. By the way, it is not unusual for people in Raven's Gate to go around armed and armored, but it's an uncomfortable way to spend an evening. Let me know how you'll be "dressed."]

Motel Ghurugil
The exhausted guide retires to his guest quarters and removes his armor. Having been awake for a day a night and another day while travelling from the Coast all the way to Raven's Gate his body is worn out. As soon as he lies down in his comfortable clean bed in a safe place, his eyes are closed and he sleeps...

Re: Motel Ghurugil
Kezib will remain as he is, but will try to find someplace to clean his clothing or possibly find something similar to what he has now.
Noding to Sangraals sugestion, he would also like to take a warm bath and clean up a bit, shave his head again, as the stubble has grown a bit, to reveal what can be seen in the meager light as black hair.

Re: BacK at the Gate
Madragar cleans himself up and goes out into the town, returning a few hours later with a newly-shaved head and face and a small boquet of flowers for Vala.
"Need to get that broo gold divided," he thinks to himself. "Buy that girl a new winter coat, and some ink and paper for me."

Re: BacK at the Gate
Ditching his pack, weapons and armor in his room. Sangraal fishes out a couple saved coins and deposits them into a pouch on his belt.
"Tonight, no armor to chaff, no fence post to carry, no porkbread, though good, I'm having steak stew!"
Sangraal waits to see who else wants to hit the town and pick up some needed clothes and have a nice meal.
[OOC: Kezib is going, anybody else? Ulwe is asleep and Madragar is girl crazy, went off looking for flowers or something.]

Ruglan agrees with Sangraal. "Yes! A hearty meal, some ale and a bath!" Ruglan will stow his gear in a guest room, wearing his traveller's clothes, a dagger and his beltpouch with just a few silver and copper coins.

Re: BacK at the Gate
Draxim tarries a moment before cleaning, dumping and departing (fully attired) with the others.
"It was he that warned us against the door to the deep. He saved all our lives. If only we could have saved his. We should have heeded the prophecy. The guiding of the Storm Bull will never be ignored again by me."
Draxim's first order of business will be selling the goodies and dividing the loot.
"Will some of you accompany me? I feel the need of strong hand carrying all this wealth."
