Re: In the alley
Madragar steps in front of Vala, his eyes darting to both directions down the narrow street. He waits for enlightenment from Atan and Sangraal while guarding the red-headed young woman.

Re: A Night at The Raven's Rest
"A dark friend, aye." Atan motions for everyone to stay there.
Taking a quick jog he catchs up to the man and just before he steps in front to stop his forward progression, "Excuse, excuse me sir. I am look for an inn called the Raven's Rest. I am supposed to meet a possible employer there. Could you direct me?"
[Closely looking at his face and clothes. Trying to gauge his social standing and if he is a fighter or scholar type based on his physique, rough nature, a big sword etc..]

Re: In the alley
Kezib will prepare to come to Atans aid, if needed. Kezib will also listen and look around to see if there are any others that were with the one that was following us.

Re: In the alley
Atan runs off to catch up with the stranger's retreating form. The elf splashes through the mud, getting about ten feet from his quarry when the man breaks into a run. He looks like any one of a hundred mercenaries Atan has seen in the last hour, except for the cloak.

Re: A Night in Raven's Gate
[So did he look back and recognize me or is he just a skittish evil man?]
[No. As soon as Atan approached he took off. It's possible he noticed Atan's cloak as well... -GM]

Re: A Night in Raven's Gate
"Kezib, you are the fastest runner I have ever seen, go." Sangraal turns to Madragar.
"Ever smell trash thats been sitting in the sun? The stench of chaos has saturated his flesh to the point that I could literly smell him. Never before have I encountered something so easily recognizable."
[ oops Kezib doesnt have the faster movement yet.

Re: A Night in Raven's Gate
As soon as the man takes off, Kezib will chase after him.
[Note that Kezib is not any faster than any other human, but he is fairly nimble so should be able to quickly work his way through the crowds. -GM]
[Kezib will still go after him, and will most likely push even harder, seeing Atan in pursuit also]

Re: A Night in Raven's Gate
Just as Kezib comes up to Atan, legs churning, the elf kicks into a run.
[Note to Kezib and Atan]
Ruglan, Madragar, Vala, Sangraal and Draxim stand in the street watching the alleys and passersby for signs of trouble.

Re: In the alley
Madragar blends into shadow as best he can, and casts The Minor Charm of Protection on Vala, in anticipation of trouble.

Re: A Night in Raven's Gate
Vala stays close to Madragar, and clings to his arm ever more tightly as the magical energies flow over her body.
"Wait... I don't understand," her voice trembles. "What's going on?"

"Don't know, love," he whispers. "Sangraal and Atan have spotted something about that fellow that marks him as an agent of the Shadow."
"Perhaps it's nothing, and we'll be on our way. This is just a precaution. With the four of us here, you're quite safe."

Re: A Night in Raven's Gate
Vala stays close to Madragar in the shadows of an empty stable as Draxim, Ruglan and Sangraal scan the passing crowd and the few nearby alleyways that twist off into the darkness.
[How long do you stay there?]

If Atan and/or Kezib don't return within ten minutes, Madragar says "I'd better get Vala home. Will you look for them, Sangraal?"

Sangraal agrees with Ruglan, "lets catch up."

Re: In the alley
[No one said anything about that. The group has been standing in the street for a minute or so.
To elaborate, I saw Sangraal and Ruglan log on this morning and make no comment. That basically put command of the group in the hands of Madragar, and he seemed content to wait.]

Re: In the alley
"Kyethe," Madragar says. "Follow them. Stay far above any trouble."
"Vala, let's get you home. We'll have to continue our night out tomorrow."
With that, he tugs her arm, leading her toward the best-lit streets, and returning to the Ghurugil.

Re: In the alley
Turning back toward the west in the direction of Atan and Kezib's pursuit, the group makes to return to the Lodge. Kyethe flies ahead, up in the darkness above the rooftops, while the eyes of Sangraal and Ruglan search the crowd for their missing friends. Draxim is strangely silent, and has been since the group arrived in Raven's Gate.
After a hundred feet or so the sounds of shouting, cursing and general commotion rise up from a plaza a short distance down the sloping road. The place has an air of tension and impending violence. A small group of men drag themselves up the street toward the group, two of them nursing bloody head wounds. A few unmoving bodies can be seen laying in the mud of the plaza... and they don't appear to be simple unconscious drunks. By the looks of it there has been a rather severe brawl in the plaza recently, and another could break out at any moment.
