Re: In the alley
"Stay close guys." Sangraal closes in flanking Vala on the oppisite side of Madragar.
"Lets get her back to the lodge then if Atan and Kezib don't come back we'll go out after them."

The Plaza
The group moves down into the plaza, sliding around its southern edge, hoping that violence doesn't erupt while they are traversing the place. There is an atmosphere of silent rage laying over the plaza like a feral appetite left unsatisfied. Two men wrestle in the mouth of a muddy alley, but no one seems to be paying much attention. For the moment, at least, blades are staying in their scabbards.

Re: In the alley
"Madragar, you and Draxim can safly escort Lady Vala back to the lodge. Ruglan, we should go look for Kezib and Atan."
Sangraal looks to Ruglan to see if he agrees.

Moving right along...
Sangraal and Ruglan remain in the plaza to search for Atan and Kezib while Madragar, Vala and Draxim continue toward the Lodge. Kyethe follows the tatooed wizard back to the sturdy oak halls of the Ghurugil, then returns to the plaza to aid in the search.

The Lodge:

At the Lodge, Madragar and Draxim find the main hall empty. For the first time since they met the Ghurugil their massive fireplace is cold and dark. On a table in the center of the chamber burns a single large candle.

Shuffling off to the guest quarters they find Ulwe and Naredru, chatting quietly in the common room.

The Plaza:
Sangraal and Ruglan search the area, keeping an eye out for signs of their companions. No one seems willing to talk to them, the crowds being generally defensive and truculent after the violence that so recently swept through the plaza. They do find out that there was a fight between a young, unarmed bald man and four club swinging toughs, but when the bald man went down the whole place broke into a massive brawl. It seems the crowd wasn't satisfied with just one bloody spectacle.

Sangraal and Ruglan can't find anyone that knows what happened to the bald man [having no skill in Gathering Information].

Re: Moving right along...
Ruglan shrugs. "I haven't seen anything like a watch since we got here."

Sangraal and Ruglan continue their search but it soon becomes clear that there is no trace of Kezib and Atan. If anyone knows what happened to them they aren't talking.

Re: He's about yay tall, bald, nods alot......
"We should retrace our steps." he says
Sangraal starts making his way back to the ally where everything started. Once there he quickly mumers the prayer of Darkness Beholden.

[OOC: Cast Detect Chaos 10 minutes - going to use it to aid in the search. Maybe since this fiend was so ladden with chaos stink that he left a trail?]

"Sangraal, perhaps we should go back to Raven's Nest and see if they return," says Ruglan.

Re: Moving right along...
Returning to the point in the road where the cloaked stranger passed by, and the pursuit began, Sangraal takes a minute or two concentrating on any lingering traces of Chaos.

His enhanced senses do detect a bit of a trail that extends both up and down the street from his current position.

Re: Moving right along...
" Normally Ruglan I would agree with you." Sangraal shakes his head " but I can not escape the rotted taste, the...the intensity of it was overwelming. I fear that we let our friends pursue something beyound our skill to defeat."

Sangrall points up the street in the direction that Atan and Kezib travelled in pursuit.
"They went that way, we must hurry the trail is fading as we speak!"

Re: Moving right along...
Sangraal follows the trail down the shadow filled street and into the plaza. It is slow going as the priest pauses often to maintain his focus on the diminishing stench. He and Ruglan reach the plaza and its milling crowds of townsfolk and follow the trail to the right, around a wide stone stair leading a short distance up into a brothel.

There the trail leads underneath a nearby wooden staircase where Ruglan finds traces of blood on the cobblestones. From there Sangraal wanders across the dark plaza to an even darker alleyway. It is narrow, not more than three feet wide, and is just the kind of place Ruglan always avoided in his stint as a town watchman.

Re: Moving right along...
Once she is safe within the halls of the Ghurugil, Madragar gives Vala a quick kiss and a whispered promise to return. "I cannot leave my companions in danger," he explains, and, seizing up his crossbow, hurries out of the hall.

"Where are you, Kyethe?" he urges.

Having received an answer, he proceeds quickly to the Plaza.

Re: Moving right along... Hold on cow-poke!
Ulwe looks up at Madragar and his concerned expression. As the non-communicative wizard rushes out armed, Ulwe loudly asks Madragar:

"Ahoy! What news bald one? Why do you rush out armed thus? It was my understanding that you were not in the mood for trouble this night, yet I see you armed and leaving the lodge alone. If that is no course for trouble, then I'm a barnacle."

He stands up and not having prepared for sleep this night is still armored. He gathers his spear and dons his helm.

"We'll do better together than you alone matey. Let's heave to."

Ulwe leaves with Madragar
As the two depart Ulwe asks the others:

"Naredru, Draxim are you coming?"

Come out, come out, where ever you are.
Sizing up the situation Sangraal draws his only weapon, a dagger and stops at the mouth of the ally.
"Wait Ruglan, give me a moment."
Sangraal stares intently down the ally through the darkness.

Re: Come out, come out, where ever you are.
Confused by the lack of a trail Sangraal peers cautiously down the allyway dagger at the ready.
[OOC: Spot check: alleyway for anything resembling a humeniod or body.]

Ruglan draws his dagger and listens for any sounds coming from the dark alley. Quietly he waits for Sangraal.

Re: Come out, come out, where ever you are.
Sangraal cations Ruglan.
"I can't see much, can you?"

[Sangraal takes 20 to look for anybody or anything hiding in the allyway. If that does'nt work Sangraal picks up a small cobblestone, casts light on it and chucks it down the alley about 20 feet in.]
