They all stink...
[If Ulwe, Sangraal and Ruglan are to seek out whoever is holding Atan and Kezib in order to offer ransom, what is your plan, and what do you intend to do first? Do you wait for Sal'el to return? How long do you wait?]

[If Madragar and Draxim are to seek out Raega, what is their plan for finding him? It's unlikely he's still at his shop at such a late hour.]

Re: They all stink...
"Surely Atan and Kezib were not foolish enough to venure out with their entire fortune. I know this may seem inappropriate for a host to invade the privacy of a guest but could not one of the Ghurugil look in Atan and Kezib's chests?"

Once it is determined if they have the shares of Kezib and Atan at their disposal, Ulwe will divulge his plan:

There must be some urchins who live in or near Potter's Row. WE pay them a small amount (very small) to run through the streets offering a reward for an Elf of the Merek Lek and A Sekestian.
(Pennsic daily tidings...)

Later Sangraal and Ulwe with the reassuring muscle of the Brooslayer will canvas a few taverns near to the Potter's Row area as well as taverns near the square where the two were taken.

we should wait for Sal'el to go with us...

While at these taverns the plan is to spread the word through a few drinks bought and small bribes to inn-keeps to let them know about the missing and that a no-questions-asked reward is offered for them alive.

Sounds simple enough to start.

[Atan and Kezib left most of the their wealth in the lodge, only taking enough gold to buy food and drinks.]

[Ulwe, see if you can't get that shield image beneath your name like the rest of us, and out of your "edit" note too.]

[Buh! Has it been that long since Madragar left Raega's? It was Noonish and then it was night! His plan was to go back and wait for the man to leave his shop!]

Re: They all stink...
[*shrug* Madragar suggested they return before nightfall, but that was all I heard of it. I can't stress enough the importance of letting the GM know what you intend, and what your general plans are. We'll never get anywhere if I have to wait for everyone to tell me what each PC is doing on a minute by minute basis.]

[Okee-doke.]

"Finding Raega may be harder than I thought" says Madragar to Draxim. "Have you any suggestions?"

"May I suggest that Raega be pursued on another night. Change tack and join us tonight."

Ulwe asks his companios to countKezib and Atan's share of the money so there is a rough idea how much to offer.

Slow down cow pokes.
"No one should go anywhere before Sal'el gets back. Plus we have a very good description from Qadras on who he sold the cloaks and weapon to. If we are going to offer money around lets offer it to Sal'el to find out who this female dwarf is. She is the only solid lead we have. Find her, we find the men, we find the men, we find Atan and Kezib."
Sangraal paces in his armor, stoping periodicly to adjust a strap and buckle.

"Plus we can't offer cash if we don't know if they are alive or dead. Hounding the mechant Raega, though he is a scum bag, won't get us anything - we have no proof he was involved other then he inquired about items from Ol Kurlew for sale. So I say we wait for Sal'el to get back."

Re: Slow down cow pokes.
Ulwe, having eaten a small pork-bread washes it down with some cold, clear water. He nods to Sangraal as his colleague speaks but when the Yelmite finishes, Ulwe adds:

"I agree with most everything you have just said Dawn-Brother. However, we have nothing to lose by offering a ransom. For it is only an offer not a promise. Silver and gold can loosen a man's tongue quicker than liquer. And it matters not at this point if we know who the captors are. By offering gold, someone who knows something may be tempted to talk. At best it may catch the attention of the captors and lead them to us."

Re: Slow down cow pokes.
"I only think of the ransom as a last resort. But with the accurate description Qadras gave I think we should be able to locate this dwarven women. Silver and gold can looen the tounges but it will also attract every rake and schemer looking for ways to get an easy score."

"We don't need five to pay a ransom," says Madragar. "And I know what I saw. Raega is up to no good, and is involved in this somehow. He must be pursued."

Re: Slow down cow pokes.
Ulwe asks the bald mage:

"Madragar please be forthcoming. What information do you have about Raega?"

Ulwe shrugs at Sangraal's reluctance.

"I will agree to disagree with you. If it were my close comrades I would be more than happy to pay money for thier safe return. I'd say a last resort would be trying to fight our way into some stronghold and rescue them. As to stirring up the serpents in Potters Row with an offer for Ransom: That is the point entirely! These cads will sell their own mother for a few Silvers. Also it will hopefully let the captors know that our friends are worth more to them alive than dead. Like I said before an offer is only words... But in this matter I will defer to you."

Re: Slow down cow pokes.
Sangraal shakes his head.

"Wait till Sal'el comes back. Thats all I ask. If he can locate the female dwarf then we have no need of Raega or of offering a reward for Atan and Kezibs return."

Sangraal nods in approvement of Ulwes question and chimes in "what reason do you believe that Raega is involved? If you have information please let us know."

Ruglan looks at Madragar and asks, "Can your feathered friend search for men wearing the cloaks of the Merek Lek? Perhaps, we could find out where they are hiding."

Waiting for Godot.
[So I guess you wait for Sal'el?]

The party dons their armor in preparation of storming Potters Row, and waits. A quick search through Kezib and Atan's belongings produces most of their share of the treasure, which comes to nearly one hundred lunars each. The urchins will be so pleased...

Minutes pass in tense anticipation. Ruglan, Ulwe, Draxim and Sangraal all sit around a central table while Madragar paces. The Ghurugil vanish from the hall with an air of urgency, though they give their guests no indication of what they are up to. Nearly an hour goes by.

Madragar gives a stout table leg a swift kick, clearly ready to disappear into the night pursuing his own investigations when the main doors of the lodge burst open. Sal'el, being aided by the strong arm of Ottar, who happened to be on watch, comes hobbling through the rows of oak tables toward the fire. The handsome young man is pale as a sheet and shivering uncontrollably. His omnipresent smile has been washed away and his wild eyes stare straight at the blazing fireplace.

Ottar must physically restrain Sal'el from nearly hurling himself into the blaze, but a moment later he regains some degree of control and seems satisfied to pull up a chair and sit just inches from the fire. Sal'el continues to shiver.

It is several long minutes before he is able to speak, and even then his words stumble out of his mouth like a drunkard.

"I followed... him. The dwarf ran right to Potters... Row. He knew the place well. Many alleyways... dark... streets. I found him behind the Coffin Nail... bad tavern... talking to someone. Some dark shape... I couldn't see. The dwarf was pleading... then... it was cold... ice in my veins... unnatural. Then there were other shapes... fast, so fast."

Sal'el takes several deep breaths, the blood rushing through his body as he relives what must have been a terrifying experience for him.

"They lept on the dwarf... from all sides. They tore him apart! His blood steamed in the cold, then froze on the ground. He screamed. I screamed too, and the dark shape turned on me. It had eyes, I think, but they were cold eyes. Deep ice... I ran... I ran back here."

Re: Waiting for Godot.
Suprised by the sudden turn of events Sangraal waits till Sal'el is seated before asking.

"Did you hear what they were saying?"

Re: Waiting for Godot.
Sal'el stares up at Sangraal through a haze of fear and exhaustion.

"Cloaks? Why would they still be wearing them, now that they have Atan? I didn't see any cloaks."

Sal'el pauses and takes another deep breath.

"I'll lead you back there. I need to rest, for a little bit."

How about a little fire scarecrow?
"We should all carry torches. I don't expect we will find much though. Stupid old man. Serves him right. "

"Sangraal, can you help him?" Draxim points to the shivering Sal'el.
