Re: Qadras
Sangraal steps forward eyeing the creature with contempt.
"What did this man look like? Speak lively dwarf, your life depends on it. Did this trader have a name?"

Re: Qadras
"No man... dwarf. Young lady... she said she was from the north... Isselwaith maybe. Raven hair... eight silver earings. I didn't get a name. Met her at the Black Barrel. She paid well for all of it. Eager, even."
Kruanru, standing behind the altar now, nods again. Qadras is apparently telling the truth.

Re: Qadras
Ulwe regards the wretch on the floor with a mixture pity and distain.
He does remember a detail from his companions'tale under the Mountain involving a legionarre.
"Dwarf, surely you did not carry all those goods down off the mountain alone. What became of your companion, the legionarrie?"

Re: Qadras
Qadras actually manages to spit out a foul dwarven curse before continuing.
"He went as far as Pulyoke, then knocked me out and took all the gold! The bastard left me with nothing but the sword and those useless cloaks."
The dwarf winces in pain as his outburst surely hurt his bruised head and mauled hand. Breathing deeply Qadras settles back down against the altar, his blood-shot eyes peering up through his bushy eyebrows.

Re: Qadras
Sangraal looks briefy up from the questioning to see Kruanru's reaction to Qadras answer.
"Why do you think this female dwarven trader was eager on recieving the cloaks? What exactly did see say?"

Re: Qadras
Kruanru, standing with both hands on the altar and staring down on the dwarf who is prone on the opposite side of it, occasionally looks up. He remains silent, but continues to nod. Sangraal isn't sure how he knows that Qadras is telling the truth. He's never known anyone in his Order that could divine truth from lie, even with the aid of almighty Yelm. Yet the priest of Humakt seems satisfied with the dwarf's answers.
"I don't know," Qadras continues. "I needed gold and she wanted to give it. She didn't tell me why."
Gudra smashes his fist into an open palm and turns away from Qadras. "That scruffy beggar lied to me. It wasn't yet noon when a man came to the temple... Thol was his name... he came with the blade this wretch had sold and led me to him." Gudra jerks his thumb at the crumpled dwarf, speaking to Kruanru.
"Thol said this dwarf had sold the blade to him," Gudra continues. "But knew it belonged to the temple, so returned it to us. I doubted his motives, but when I confronted Qadras with the blade his guilt was written on his face."
"And the truth of his crime was revealed," Kruanru concludes. "You were right to doubt Thol's motives, but he did lay in our hands this heinous blasphemer. Humakt be praised."
"The bitch set me up!" Qadras exclaims.

Re: Qadras
"We should leave him to the judgment he has earned," says Madragar, "and make haste to the Black Barrel."
Inclining his head to Gudra and Kruanru in acknowledgement of their assistance, the shaven-headed westerner continues. "Unless, that is, the Church of Humakt cares to precede us?"

Re: Qadras
Kruanru raises up to his full height and folds his chainmail clad arms across his chest.
"We have no concern for garments taken from the dead. The blade has been returned and this blaphemous cur has received his punishment. Humakt cares little for the petty affairs of men. I wish you well in your search, but here the involvement of this temple ends."
Sal'el sidles up between Madragar and Sangraal.
"This isn't my town," he whispers. "But even in Thasvara they've heard of Potters Row. They say it's the meanest part of the roughest town in the land. If we go we must be cautious, and think twice before going at night."

Re: Qadras
Ulwe looks on at the miserable drawf and his heart swells with pity. He walks over to Qadras and offers the dwarf his waterskin. After the Dwarf drinks his fill, the Orlanthian pours a few drops over the one-armed thief's head and murmurs a prayer of forgiveness.
On the way out of the Temple Ulwe adresses the group:
"Gentlemen, There is one thing this town has in plenty: and that is armed men, any of which can be bought for a pittance. Why don't we hire a few soldiers for extra muscle and we can enter into Potter's Row with some security?"
He waits for a heartbeat before continuing:
"Also our hosts seem to make it thier business of Dwarfkind. It is possible the Ghurugil know of the Dwarf-wench with the pierced ear and dark hair. Any thing they can add would be most helpfull."

Re: Qadras
"Some common thief, apparently" says Madragar.
"I agree with Ulwe that we should consult the Ghurugil about this she-dwarf Isselwaith. But I hesitate to hire sell-swords who would gut us for a copper raise. Unless we know of more trustworthy blades?"

More Questions
"Well Thol is a name we can start with."
Sangraal turns to the Humakt priest who ire was raised upon hearing of Thols deception.
"Who is Thol? Do you know of this person? or do you suppose his name was as false as his intentions?"
"And you Qadras" Sangraal points at the crippled dwarf. "So the legionarre absconded the gold taken from old Kurlew? Where did you part ways?"

Re: More Questions
Gudra shrugs, "I had never seen the man before. But the blade was genuine and the dwarf's guilt made his identity irrelevant."
Qadras mumbles, "Pulyoke. He left me at Pulyoke like I said."

Re: More Questions
[I guess we have not left the temple as of yet... sorry for jumping the gun]
As soon as the Dwarf mentions the town outside Raven's Gate, Ulwe looks at the Humaktites and in a respectful tone addresses them:
"Though not directly related to our current topic, but nevertheless I am interested to know more of Pulyoke. Perhaps the Sword-Priests could enlighten a fellow traveller in the course of the Lightbringers? I am from Northern parts and have only just learned of Pulyoke and the ancient Monestary there. Is there more to ity than simple loot and riches which draws half the city thence?"

Re: More Questions
Gudra and Kruanru say nothing in response to Ulwe's inquiry. It seems they don't consider themselves "fellow travellers" or as folk who dispense gossip about remote mining villages.
"If there is nothing else..." Gudra intones, suggesting that the audience is at an end.

The pregnant silence is broken by Ulwe
"Yes I have a final question. What is to become of Qadras now?"

Re: More Questions
Qadras, huddled on the floor before the altar, looks up at Kruanru clearly interested in the question himself.
"He has paid the price for his blasphemy and, come sunset, we have no further use for him."

Re: More Questions
"Thank you Kruanru for your time in this matter. The son of Yelm be blessed." Sangraal thanks the priest.
[OOC: I think it is wise to say that come sun set - Sal'el, Draxim and Kythe the crow should be waiting to follow the one handed dwarf and if neccesary pick him up.]
