Re: Back in Action
Sangraal strugles with his decision to stay near near the door as it seems to offer little in the way of protection and after a few moments acquiesces. Trailing the party he quickly scuttles through the rough looking crowd to rejoin the party. Halting before the table he carefully swings his flail over a rusted hvy chain, catching it deftly he makes sures the wieght is proportionate and that it won't come crashing down. Somewhat sure of the makeshift weapons rack Sangraal takes a seat.

Re: Back in Action
Ulwe tosses his Shield upon the table with a clatter and leans his spear within easy reach against the mantle of the darkend hearth.
He remains standing, arms folded across his chest leaning back upon the wall behind him. One leg is propped against the wall while his other bears the Sea-elf's weight.
Continuing to peer about the coffin nail for the quarry Ulwe asks Sal'el in a low tone
"You saw them enter? I hope whilst we dallied they chose not to leave again.
(how large is the interior? Does there appear to be more rooms?)

Re: Back in Action
Ulwe has a hard time seeing through the murky hall, but there appears to be a wide double door at back of the room that may lead to other parts of the building. The main hall itself is about thirty feet wide and forty long. There are two shuttered windows flanking the front door, and another along the north wall, probably opening onto the alley.
Ulwe has further difficultly speaking with Sal'el, who is not in the tavern with them.

Re: Back in Action
Ulwe places his palms to his eyes for a moment. The stinging smoke burns his sea-wind loving orbs.
"Blazes take this place!" he curses aloud.
"Let's check yon doorway. With hope there is a backroom where Dalam and his ilk are waiting. At any rate I cannot see a trace of that giant Bucket."
Before gathering up his things he looks at the table nearest the group, one which would command a view of the entrance.
He eyes up the person seated in the best vantage point and looks him over to guage the character before asking if he has seen an extremely large man walk through the bar earlier.

Wait and then wait some more.
Bating lightly at the haft of his suspended flail Sangraal arrests its wobbely motion with a firm grip.
"I recall an Orlanthian apothegm - the tide brings what the ocean gives." Sangraal shrugs apatheticly.
"You should sit Ulwe. This is the place of their choosing, they'll come when they are ready." Sangraal scans the crowd "I am sure they have someone in here watching us to make sure we are on the up and up." he says softly so not to be overheard.

Re: Wait and then wait some more.
Ulwe smiles brightly at the Yelmite.
"Aye you are a wise one Dawn-Brother."
Then he quickly re-masks his face into a stern countenance. Partly from the smoke, and partly to appear hard, he squints his eyes and furrows his brow.
Then he leans back against the wall, arms crossed.

Re: Wait and then wait some more.
Ulwe leans over to a filthy, leather-clad soldier at a nearby table and taps him on the shoulder. The conversation is brief, but Ulwe successfully negotiates the pitfalls inherant in trying to get information out of a surly, well armed drunk.
"Wha?"
"Seen Bucket?" Ulwe inquires, jerking his thumb towards the door.
"Yah," the inebriated mercenary replies, then nods at the pair of double doors at the back of the room.
"Hmmm," Ulwe replies, the closest thing to a 'thank you' that is allowed in the Coffin Nail.
"Feh," the drunk mumbles, then spits noisily onto the ground, returning to his ale.

Re: Wait and then wait some more.
"Allright then friends the tide has brought us this bit of flotsam."
Ulwe stands close to the three sitting around the table and tries to speak loud enough to be heard over the din yet soft enough not to be overheard.
"Yon drunk has told me that Bucket passed through those doors. I'm of the mind to go through them. What say you others? Madragar your council is appreciated. Sangraal?"

Sangraal smiles as Ruglan repeats himself. " Ruglan's right, lets go."
[OOC: Sangraal is just going to act like muscle since he has no skills in the area of thieves, though he can try and use diplomacy.
By the way whos in the bar?
Is it just Ulwe, Sangraal and Ruglan?
Where is Madragar and the others?

[Madragar is in the tavern, Draxim is outside somewhere. Atan and Kezib... well... that's the point of this whole expedition, isn't it?]

Re: Wait and then wait some more.
[too bad the Dwarf isn't with us... we could have used his language skills, and his axe and strong arms... ]
Ulwe gathers his shield and picks up his spear. With a nod he indicates the double doors.
"Ruglan, you first." He says He will follow after the burly broo-slayer and head towards the double doors.

Sangraal retrieves his flail from its suspended mounting. "May Yelm guide us" he intones quietly as he falls into step behind Ulwe.

A giant wooden badger
Madragar follows Ulwe, Ruglan and Sangraal, pausing at the door long enough to scowl about the room and see who's watching. Then he goes through with them.

Re: A giant wooden badger
The four rise from their table just a few minutes after entering (and without having so much as a sip of ale) and make for the double doors, doing their very best to look natural. They weave through the crowded main hall and though Ruglan nearly knocks a drunk sailor's head in with his shield on the way, no one impedes their progress.
Just as they reach the door a tall, lanky scrapper with long greyish hair that hangs in greasy tendrils over his face rises up from his stool and jabs a worn cudgel in Ruglan's direction. The man has only a few teeth in his head, and though he seems more than a little inebriated he is wide-eyed and alert when the armed and armored band approaches.
"Who you, eh? I ain't seen ya before have I? No, I haven't."

Re: A giant wooden badger
"No you have not." Agrees Ulwe.
He does his best to stand his full height and puff his chest.
Curtly he continues: "We've business with Dalam."

Re: A giant wooden badger
The scruffy guard leans back, narrows his eyes at the elf, and scratches his head with his cudgel... pondering.
"Dalam... Dalam..."
It seems to take the man a long time to hack his way through the alcoholic jungle in his head, but finally he smiles.
"Oh, right... you dem? Yea, you dem alright," he cackles, closing his eyes in triumph at having actually remembered something. "Can you go in? I think you can. Yes, you can. Go in, but don't go into the cellar. You won't will you? No, you won't."

Re: A giant wooden badger
Ulwe motions to the door with his spear.
"Let's go on then."
The sea-elf ushers his fellows through the ominous portal. Despite his brave words and outward appearance his stomach twists as the double doors groan open. He dryly swallows and steels himself for the coming challenge.

Re: A giant wooden badger
Once inside the backroom, and what most assuredly appears to be the jaws of a trap, Madragar is actively looking all about him, searching for any cause for alarm.
