Re: Question of the night
"Fleh!" Dalam exclaims, his faced screwed up in a look of disgust and frustration. He is clearly enticed by the prospect of getting his hands on some easy coin.

"Three now then," he snorts, sticking out a hand. "Half an hour at the Coffin Nail. She may show, she may not."

Re: Question of the night
"Bull" gets Dalam an Ale. Ruglan himself, has a look of disgust. "Bah! 3 and she may not even show." Speaking quieter, so that only the table can hear, Rulgan says, "I guess we may have to sell to that other party."

Re: Question of the night
Ulwe waves off His companion's protestations.

Then his face becomes very grave and he speaks in a low but forceful tone.

"Dalam, swear by the Gods that you will seek out the She-Dwarf called Kreillah. You will deliver to her our proposal. If you take these three coins and do not send her our message you will be thrice damned. Orlanth hears every word spoken."

He reaches under the table and pulls out three coins from his pouch.

He keeps them in his fist and places his hand on the table.

"Do you swear it?"

Re: Question of the night
Dalam stiffles a chuckle. "Oh yes," he says in mock reverence. "I swear it."

Re: Question of the night
"You have made an oath."

Ulwe puts his fist into Dalam's hand and slips him the three coins.

Re: Question of the night
Dalam looks at the coins, bites each one in turn, then stuffs them in his pouch.

"One half hour," he advises, then stands up and heads for the door.

Re: Question of the night
As soon as Dalam is up and headed outt Ulwe hisses to Sal'el

"Can you follow him?"

After a few moments (irregardless if Sal'el will follow Dalam) Ulwe says:

"We should go find the others. And tell them about the Coffin Nail."

Re: Question of the night
Sal'el whispers "I could follow that smelly pig in the dark." He waits a few seconds then follows Dalam out of the tavern.

Re: Question of the night
[OOC: good story progression guys! - sorry for my lack of posts. Home computer is down and work is so busy right now.]

Once clear of prying ears and eyes Sangraal whispers softy so only the party can hear.
"Having Draxim and Madragar out of sight may prove to be a benefit. The darkness abounds, and Yelm will see us through."

Re: Question of the night
Ruglan, Sangraal and Ulwe gather outside the Black Barrel in the shadows between the tavern and the adjacent boarding house. As far as they know Madragar and Draxim are still waiting for someone to come running out of one of the back doors of the place.

So cunning you could pin a tail on it....
Sangraal glances around warily before wishpering softly to the group.

"We can send Draxim in ahead of us and he can set up. I am worried that the tattooed mage would just stick out like a sore thumb, plus if Qadras has been able to give any type of description, I am sure Madragar would be the most easily recognizable."

Sangraal adjusts his armor and drops his holy symbol inside it.
"No reason to advertize in this warren of filth." he smiles.

"Any plans?"

Re: So cunning you could pin a tail on it....
"For starters we need to go get the others. We have seen what happens in this town when we get separated. We all go together. "

Ulwe suggests a marching order:

Ulwe first followed by Sangraal then Ruglan.

"My eyes can see in this murk better than you two."

The three set off down the alley that they saw Draxim head down earlier. As they near the back of the building Ulwe hisses

"Ahoy!"

What's in here...
Draxim is checking out one of the doors in the meantime., if he is quite sure no one is on the other side, he will open it a crack and peek in.

Re: What's in here...
Draxim finds a cluttered storeroom of the tavern. It is dark and empty.

"Ahoy," a familiar voice hisses from down the alley, and Ulwe creeps into view.

Soon the group is gathered in front of the tavern - Sangraal, Ruglan, Draxim, Ulwe and Madragar... all dressed up with some time to kill.

Rehas
Ulwe breaks down the previous half hour to the Alley Rats:

"Sal'el found out that Kreillah the She-Dwarf associate of the late Qadras had met with patrons within yon Black Barrel.

He insinuated himseld into thier company and produced a man named Dalam. He promised he could set up a meeting with Kreillah within a half an hour nearby at the Coffin Nail. This is under the pretense that we have 'something of interest' from Old Kerlew for sale.

This of course did not come free. He was paid three gold by myself with a promise of seven more provided all goes well.

Dalam is currently being tailed by Sal'el."

He takes a breath and continues:

"We should be on the ware of an ambush of course because Dalam did not seem the most trustworthy. Though he did swear an oath to seek out Kreillah.

Draxim and Madragar do you two fancy some more alley work? It would be prudent to have a pair of crossbows watching in the dark to protect us. And if the tales of your abilities are true Madragar Child of Orlanth, then they could well tip the scales in our favor."

Re: Rehas
"Alas, my powers are mostly spent for the day," says Madragar. "But I shall do as I may. I fear you may be overwhelmed within the Coffin Nail - an ominous name if ever there was one."

"Perhaps we should wait not in the alley, but within the Coffin Nail itself, entering separately from you. We can then be ready to lend aid if need be? I can draw attention and Draxim can perhaps work himself behind any who offer trouble."

[empty of all but the clutter? ]

Without a word, Draxim moves ahead, toward the COffin Nail, inviting Sa'lel to join him with a glance and a head bob.he will try to case the outside of the Coffin Nail (it isn't far) for strategic purposes. Where are the entrances, exits, and places to watch from? Is there anything of note occuring there that would be detectable from the outside. Are there lurkers watching the place?

Re: Rehas
Draxim looks for Sal'el when he emerges from the alley but the young man is long gone, having followed after Dalam.

[He can case the tavern on his own though, if he likes.]

Re: Rehas
Draxim heads toward the Coffin Nail quietly and making use of the cover of night to attract as little notice as possible.
