Re: Rehas
Sangraal concurs with Draxim " Draxim you should case out the place. An ambush is very likely in these streets as history tells us."

Broken fingers or promises?
The ghostly apparition of an elf materializes before you. It's face is familiar but indestinctive. Quickly it glides forward speaking in a harsh beratting wail, "You all are too damn slow!"

Re: Broken fingers or promises?
Draxim pads off into the dark (just a few minutes behind Sal'el) to reconnoiter the Coffin Nail.
Ulwe indicates his willingness to wait in front of the Black Barrel by saying so.
"I am willing to wait here in front of the Black Barrel for Draxim and Sal'el's return," he says.
Ruglan agrees.
"I agree," Ruglan agrees.
"Me too," Sangraal and Madragar say in unison.
After declaring their intentions, the Faceless Lord of Chaos could get on with the story.

Re: Broken fingers or promises?
Ulwe bats away the strange wispy form:
"Egads miamsma! This place is unwholsome indeed."
He then takes a moment to realize he was acting without control of his body, a strange and unpleasant experience.
After a moment or two he shakes his head as if to clear it out then with an exasperated sigh he continues:
"That certainly was stange. though I am willing to wait here for the safe return of our companions."
Returning to normal he says to Madragar:
"Sir I do not think you are the ideal candidate to enter the Coffin Nail incogneto."
"Why you ask? Well for starters you have been spotted in our company by half the city. Furthermore, you boldly declared your name upon the slab another incedent witnessed by the other half of the city.
Qadras was undoubtedly being watched by his betrayors when you suddenly showed up and announced yourself.
Your strange tattoos, bald head and outlandish clothing and uncommon pet further mark you out. Were you aware that people, ordinary people were recognizing you? As Draxim and I followed you to Raega's this morning, we heard innumerable rumors about you.
If you walked into that place alone you would suffer. Now then I propose we enter together, all of us."

"I find it strange to say that I concur with Ulwe," says Madragar. "Let us go together once we have heard back from our scout."

Re: Broken fingers or promises?
Ulwe removes his necklace of polished coral and shell beads bearing a bronze pendant depicting a leaping porpoise. He holds it in his right hand; he rolls a bead between his thumb and his index and middle finger.
He begins to quietly murmor in Elven. A repetitious monotone, though barely audible, is whispered upon the sea-elf's lips.
As each chant is complete he slides a bright red coral orb along the loop, gathers the next bead and begins the same prayer anew.

Ruglan continues to wait for the return of the scouts. He eyes the shadows warily.

The waiting is the hardest part...
As they lurk in the shadows of Potters Row, the group observes the colossal form of Bucket emerge from the Black Barrel with a few of his cronies in tow. This occurs about half-way through the interminable half hour of torturous waiting. The big man and his crew slowly amble north, in the direction of the Coffin Nail.
A short time after that, though it seemed like days, Sal'el reappears, pushing his way through the darkness and the drunken, riotous crowd.
"I followed Dalam. He went into a boarding house not far from the Coffin Nail and came out with a dwarf woman and two other men lot long after. They went into the alley behind the tavern and I think they went inside, using a back door maybe. I couldn't get too close."
A few minutes later, Draxim also returns.

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
"We could stand them up and wait for them in the boarding house. That way we would have the advantage, they would be alone when they returned."
Sangraal likes the idea.
"We know where she came from, she'll go back there once it looks like we are not showing up, they'll wait for a while Im sure. Gives us time to set up and ambush them, off the street and in private, we also would'nt have to split up. Sal'el could you lead us back?"

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
Sal'el scratches his head.
"I could, but the tavern, the boarding house, the street... they're crawling with the worst bunch of cutthroats I've seen since I spent a night in the Lower East back in Thasvara. I don't see how this bunch could set an ambush in such a place without all of Potters Row knowing about it."

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
Ulwe agrees with Ruglan.
"Indeed let's go now. But let's get a plan together. We are outnumbered so a fight is not the best idea. Sal'el makes an excellent point: We are out of our element here. An ambush could turn against us. I'm sorry Sangraal I don't think that is the best idea. That leaves us with attempting to negotiate. This opportunity should not be squandered. We should meet with this Dwarf and try to ascertain to whom the cloaks were sold. That will lead us closer to your comrades. An alley fight might only see us dead along with your friends."

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
" We'd just be waiting for her back at the boarding house. We can get a room and wait for her to return alone. I mispoke when I said ambush. I ment corner her at a time of our choosing instead of when shes surronded by her friends and we are completely out of our element. We even know that we have a window of oppurtunity to go to the board house and get a room. Then we wait in the common room. We don't want to have to fight her, we can talk."

"I went down that alley Sal'el. there's no sign of those horrors that shredded Qadras. Some really big guy broke up a fight and then took both the fighters to a back room. It's rough in there."

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
I can show you the back doors, but they were all locked when I was back there. I could try slipping the bolt butpeople on the inside would probably notice unless they are really drunk. The dwarven woman and this "Bucket" are almost certainly back there, and they are our only link to our freinds. I will return to the alley and watch the back doors. Perhaps Sal'el, you could come with me? The rest could watch the front. We can't let her get away. We also can't risk a fight here. These guys fight with knives over breakfast.

"I'm not sure if either place will be safe," says Ruglan. "The boarding house is full of people too. We may be set upon just for going in there." Ruglan ponders a moment. "Screw it, let's just go talk to this woman."

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
Ulwe speaks up
"Draxim stay here with us. No more wandering off, that is what got your friends into this trouble in the first place.
Sangraal those are good ideas if she were a stranger to these parts and we were familiar. As it is not the case but the exact opposite, I cannot agree to that course.
How much do we bribe the inkeep at the boarding house not to betray us? With that monster Bucket at her side I'll wager it is a high price we'd pay for silence. And even then who can trust anybody in these parts?
Right now we have her interest and we know she is greedy. Let's use that to our advantage. I'd rather not insult the denizens of this demi-monde by not showing up. Next time we need cooperation it may not be forthcoming.
I think a straight course is the best one. Let's offer her some gold for information. We should stick together and if there is trouble, we'll handle it. "

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
"It is a fools errend to go into that nest speaking of gold." Sangraal is visably concerned with this course of action.
"We know where shes staying lets go wait for her there. Walknig to that bar is like walking into a web. She knows when and where we are going to be. She can have all her boys their waiting."
" My plan makes more sense. She'll go back once we don't show up."

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
"Yes the Yelmite is talking sense. But we should keep watch to ensure that she does indeed return." With a stern glance at Ulwe and an inquisitive one for Sal'el, Draxim returns to the alley. Quielty and inconspicuously that is.
Once there he will try to get a listen to the door that he thinks Bucket etc. might be behind, given what he knows of the layout of the Coffin Nail.
