Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
"You speak of fools?" Asks Ulwe as he points to Draxim stalking off.
"How do you know she will return to the boarding house where she was summoned from? I was not aware that Yelmites can predict the future. The truth is you have no idea what will happen."
"Your plan is the fool's errand Sangraal. Look at us! We do not fit in here. We will not be able to enter the boarding house unnoticed. Right now the closest contact you have to your missing friends is waiting for us. We had time to discuss this 'plan' for several minutes (DAYS) before she showed up."
Ulwe crosses his arms and rises to his full hieght he looks down his nose at the Dawn-Brother and says
"They are your friends not mine. Do as you wish."

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
[OOC: I hav been very busy at work and my home computer is down, so my questions are unfortunately coming out now.]
"Why is walking into a bar where we know she has friends better then catching her off guard at her place of resisdence? Both places will have people but only one location knows we are coming. I say we go wait at the boarding house. Sal'el or Draxim can wait outside to make sure she comes back or follow anyone who leaves the boarding house and heads towards the coffins nail, if she is informed that we are waiting at the boarding house then Draxmin or Sla'el can then follow her. Either way its a lot safer and on our terms. "

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
Ulwe shakes his head slightly and continues the debate
"Sangraal we do not know exactly where she is staying. Sal'el said she left from a certain building. She could have been doing business there. She may even have entered that building from one of the myraid alleyways and backdoors and passageways which infest this tricky neighborhood. So we do NOT know where she is staying."
"Secondly, even IF she is staying at the same building Sal'el tracked her from, we will not be able to sneak up to her room. That is preposterous to even consider."
"Last, we know where she is RIGHT NOW. That is the best information we have. We know for a fact she is in the Coffin Nail. when she leaves the coffin Nail we will have no idea where she will go, only guesses."
"Do you really want to risk losing contact with her over a guess as to her next move?"
"Draxim is not wise to wander off alone in these alleyways. Was it not a few hours ago that Qadras was devoured in that very alley? I do not like the idea of us splitting up anymore. I have a bad feeling. If we stay in a group our strengths are multiplied and weaknesses diminished."
Ulwe tries to maintain his composure but he is obviously frustrated with the Yelmite's plan.
"As I said before Atan and Kezib are your friends. I'll not work against the wishes of this party but you need to consider how practical your idea really is."

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
" I have not said sneak into her room. Waiting in the common room is all we need to do. Sal'el and Draxim are in their element let let them follow and tag her. I bet she goes back to the boarding house. I would rahter make a move that gives us the intitive instead of re-acting to others. That dwarf is involved with setting up Qadras and setting up the capture of my friends. She obviously has no moral compuss and she seems to be working with more in mind then money. Otherwise we would have gotten a ransom demand. Let us take away the advantage. If she does'nt return then Sal'el and Draxim will be sure to spot her and hopefully follow her."
[OOC: We could discuss this all day so lets put up a vote - the crow gets no vote.
1. Wait for her at the boarding house where she might return and then again she might not, but we'll have Draxim and Sal'el tailing her.
2. Walk into the bar where we know she is waiting with friends.
Please respond with a clear 1 or a 2. NO "maybes" or " I think so's". 1 or 2
I'll abid by what ever the majority chooses.]

Draxim refuses to vote as it would blow his cover where he is currently watching the boarding house and investigating..... (Hopefully)

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
Before the party makes a show of hands Ulwe lobbies the Yelmite a last time:
"What is the advantage of waiting in the common room if we are spotted and she is forewarned? Would not our position be less than ideal? I do not like the idea of the party splitting up. Six of us are better than four even if we do go to the boarding house.
Going into the Coffin Nail is dangerous as Ruglan pointed out; so is going to the Boarding house. The simplest plan is often the best. We know she is in there and we are ready for foul-play I say we go talk now."
Ulwe raises his hand to vote for going to the Coffin Nail

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
"But we have no leverage if we go in there. They will know who we are and we can pay them all the gold this side of the Nral river and they don't have anything to tell us anything. We'll be no better then beggars begging for the lives of our friends, coddling parisites, rewarding them for foul acts. Feeding these gouls more gold will only wet there appetite further. Lets take the advantages we have before us. I will be prey for no one."
Sangraal votes for the going to the boarding house and waiting there for her to return.

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...
"Sangraal what advantage would we have if Kreillah learns of our whereabouts in her abode?
Think man! We cannot steal upon her unawares in her own turf. Waiting for her to return to her boarding house is unwise under the circumstances.
We may be watched by her agents. A boarder may slip out and warn her of four strangers waiting in the common room.
These events would surely put her at advantage. Even if your plan succeeds iand we ambush her do you believe she will be more inclined to cooperate?
If we enter the Coffin Nail now and negotiate we may yet see your friends again. I'd gladly reward the foulest behavior with all the gold I possessed if it were my friends who suffered. Sometimes the cheapest solution is the most expensive. What would it cost if you misered your gold and your friends are never heard from again? You can always find more gold, not so true friends."
Ulwe continues to hold his hand up in favor of pusuing the best possible lead the party has at the moment.

Re: Its easier when its done quickly.
"Sangraal, I was thinking that a merchantile approach might be the best. We offer her money for information in a similar manner we arranged with Dalam. We do not know if she was directly involved with your companions' disappearances. We do know she IS indirectly involved. We may be able to glean some kernels of truth from her rearding the wheraboutes or fates of Atan and Kezib.
Obviously things could go wrong. They could try to jump us or mislead us. If the former I have the confidence in our righteous cause that we shall emerge triumphant; the latter our sense of truth will discern lies and half-truths.
Certainly it is not the ideal situation. In a perfect world Atan and Kezib would be here with us deciding which tavern to sup at. If they try any funny business we have the cautious mind to expect such treachery and will act to defend ourselves. "

" I was thinking more along the lines of whose going to do the talking, where draxim will be located... any signals to be given. If we are going to walk into the lions den lets at least plan it out."

Re: Its easier when its done quickly.
Ulwe chuckles briefly before resetting his stern countenance:
"I apologize Dawn-Brother. If the group was together I think it would be best. Draxim's mighty arm I feel would be more useful inside. Also his ability to speak the same tongue as Kreiallah could prove invaluable.
We keep the door open the entire time, If we need to flee we should try to have that option. If you Madragar could watch our backs and make sure the portal remains clear that would be helpful.
Ruglan I know your sward arm is tested and true. If all goes foul we'll need it.
Sangraal, I am worried you may be too angry to speak just now. I feel that I may be able to initate negotiations.
Sal'el we could use you inside as well, that is if you are willing? We have already asked much of you today friend."

Re: Its easier when its done quickly.
Ulwe intones a prayer to his Lord Orlanth and heads to the Coffin Nail. He looks at his companions to make sure everyone is ready, motioning Draxim over he asks if the Dwarf has any information to add before the sea-elf opens the door.
[he readies the remaining seven gold coins in a small bundle tied with a scrap of cloth.]

Re: Its easier when its done quickly.
Ulwe and Sangraal's argument giving Draxim ample time to range ahead, the group makes its way north along the dark, muddy streets of Potters Row. The wracked cobblestone street twists and writhes around dark wooden structures stained with evening revels and morning effluence, its uneven progress sign of decades of neglect.
They find the Coffin Nail easily enough, less than a hundred feet from the raucous Black Barrel tavern. The two story structure seems to sag, leaning heavily on the surrounding buildings, its aging timbers warped and rotting from years of neglect. A narrow, shadow filled alleyway slinks along the tavern's left (north) side, and its oaken door is ajar, permitting a sliver of orange light to stab across the street. Not far to the north and west the two massive stone walls of the town soar over fifty feet high, but are dark with the abscence of any kind of patrol from the Red Citadel. Even from the street Ulwe, Ruglan, Sangraal and Madragar can tell the tavern is crowded and noisy.

Back in Action
Ulwe again looks to each of the Night Crawlers in his company.
He waits to see if there are any last second hesitations. Then he smiles his toothy grin, his perfect teeth gleaming in the darkness.
" Orlanth be praised! It is for the better this place is full of folk. Let's go."
The sea-elf walks in and takes a moment to let his eyes adjust to the light. He scans the room for Dalam, Kreiallah and the Bucket.

"Why here we are," says Madragar. "And so let's cease this debate and enter. Murder and skullduggery will not wait all night, likely having other dates than we four."
He heads for the door and enters, wrapped in his dark cloak, raven upon his shoulder.

Re: Back in Action
Glancing inside Sangraal grumbles about waiting near the door and smoothly steps aside to let everyone enter. Weary of thieves and cutpurses, he scowls slightly as he scans the crowd through the door way. "Definately not a place for a fight" he thinks to himself.
[OOC: Sangraal scans the crowd for any signs of trouble spot check}

Re: Back in Action
The tavern is not surprisingly similar to the Black Barrel... a dim, smokey place full of mercenaries, cutthroats and unscrupulous riff-raff that holler and guzzle ale with impressive alacrity. Inky black smoke from a dozen oil lanterns drifts up into the rafters, slimy tendrils slithering through a lattice of wood and rusted steel chains. [Chains? Yes, chains.] The locals seem to use them for hanging their weapons up out of the way, but judging from the number of axe handles, scabbards and gleaming spearpoints up among the shadows every man in the tavern must be armed. The place feels like the dank cell of some torturer, or a kind of charnel slaughterhouse.
The group tries to act naturally, despite the unnerving hostility of the atmosphere, and finds a rickety square table set against a wall near the fireplace, though it is full of nothing but cold ashes and old garbage.
Ulwe doesn't immediately detect Dalam, Bucket or the dwarf woman. Sangraal looks around for trouble, but gives up. Everything in the Coffin Nail looks like trouble.
