Re: The Battle of Potters Row
"There's a door in the back room we were in. We couldn't open it easily, but we may be able to hack it open."
Ruglan looks at Madragar, "Madragar grabbed the door's poisoned handle. Is there anything we can do for him here? Anyone?"

Re: The Battle of Potters Row
Bucket slowly rises from the floor and, surveying the mass of angry, armored dwarves in his vicinity, backs towards the corner of the tavern.

Re: The Battle of Potters Row
"Madragar is right, the door is fake." Sangraal notes. Pointing to the retreating Bucket "He is in league with those who have unleashed the evil this night. He should not be allowed to go free. Surrender Bucket! and you shall not die this night."
[OOC: Sangraal is still weakend and his energy is sapped so he will be staying near the party.

"Sparkly," comments Madragar, looking at the dwarves through his arcane lens.
"We should go now."

"Well.. we either hack our way through a back wall, or we hack our way through the enemy out in front of the tavern."
"What say the Ghurugil?" asks Ruglan.

Re: The Battle of Potters Row
The Ghurugil it seems are having a 'discussion' about that very topic. Interspersed with loud grumblings in dwarvish are equally loud declarations in Moagaran.
"I'll not flee from these creatures," Vhraalam bellows, "though my beard may catch of fire!"
"Nor I," shouts Madfillin, the cook with the wild, black hair. "I will give my life to the Storm Bull rather than face the shame of retreat before the Enemy!" The powerfully built dwarf smashes his mailed fist into his shield, steel sword pommel ringing of the gleaming boss.
"Valsha haral geriad, Ghurugil!" one of them yells. Whether it is the gap-toothed Algeir, or the red-haired Llovas is hard to discern.
The Ghurugil seem totally absorbed in their exultations... all but Kildeer who is ever wary and alert. The cunning ranger turns to Ruglan.
"It looks like we're taking the front door. Be ready to move."

Atan limps over to Madragar. Sheathing his sword he reaches down and grabs the bald man by his collar. Stooping, shuffling and then rising in a single motion he tries to lift the mage to his feet. "Com'on Mad, you gotta help by carrying some of your weight."
[Since I am a gimp and Madragar is all discombobulated I'll help him along.

"Hi, Atan," says Madragar, seeming much less formal than usual. "Where you been?"
He gets to his wobbly feet with Atan's help, trying not to point his loaded crossbow at anybody in particular.

Re: The Battle of Potters Row
"A sad lot we are." Sangraal throws a feeble smile. The strain of the nights actions, the wieght of his flail, the debilitating echantment that aflicts him; combine to leave his face haggard and drawn.
That fire though, the fire behind his eyes, shines aglow. Faith personified.
"Let us cleanse this place of its dark stench. "

Re: The Battle of Potters Row
Holding up Madragar, Atan decides to shift to the Mages other side. Backing under Madragar's right arm while still holding his collar with by the left allows him to reposition. Now with his right arm around Mad's back and under his armpit Atan is free to draw his sword, "Might need this actually.", he mumbles.
"Ready to go. When we hit the street try and stay with the Ghurugil."

Re: The Battle of Potters Row
Ten Ghurugil (Vhraalam, Llovas, Vagn, Algeir, Tolm, Grameissal, Harek, Kildeer, Ottar and Madfilin) form a defensive ring around the five companions and their wounded cargo. Clasping their shields tightly to their bodies, cunning dwarven eyes watchful for attacks from any direction, the formation begins to move towards the gaping breach at the front of the tavern.
"Vagn," Vhraalam hisses from the vanguard. "Be ready."
The wizened dwarf has no chance to reply before Vhraalam quickens his pace and begins to shout out a litany of dwarvish and Moagaran prayers.
"Krazaram Uzul! Begone carrion! Look upon the face of the Storm Bull's fury!"
Vhraalam, his fist clenching a burnished silver hammer glowing now with divine energy, advances towards the lurking creatures. In unison the Ghurugil begin to bellow a keening dwarven war chant, each word seeming to increase the power of Vhraalam's prayers, driving back the strange, hissing humans.
Atan, himself badly wounded, drags the limp form of Ulwe as best he can while Draxim helps along the nearly unconscious Madragar. Ulwe regains consciousness long enough to vomit a thick torrent of blood onto the floor.
At the rear of the formation, Kildeer yells to be heard above the din of dwarven fury. "Atan, if you can get clear, get Ulwe to the Temple of the Ash Lion. They are his only hope to see the dawn!"
The Ghurugil crash through what's left of the door and into the street as the tavern blaze crackles into life. Immediately a flash of lightning streaks down from the roof of the place, threatening to engulf the entire group. Vagn snaps out a quick incantation and the bolt fizzles into nothingness, then shakes his fist at the shadowy wizard.

Re: The Battle of Potters Row
[Technically I picked up Madragar but Ulwe makes more sense (except when he is talking )]
Atan peers over the helms of the heavily armored dwarves looking for the undead creatures. "What direction is the Ash Lion from here?" Atan calls back to Kildeer.
[If the Ghurugil get bogged down in the engagement then Atan will watch for a hole in the undeads line with which to break free of the ambush. Spot +6.]

Re: The Battle of Potters Row
[Too true, wrong meat sack.]
Kildeer spares a glance over his shoulder to point southeast. Atan had actually been within sight of the Temple earlier that same afternoon when the group met with Sal'el, but clearly lost his way in the unfamiliar streets of Ravensgate.
With well ordered precision revealing the battle-tested experience of these hardeded veterans, the Ghurugil move south down the street away from the tavern. The razor edges of their gleaming weapons and the shining beacon of Vhraalam's holy symbol keep the creatures at bay, though they still surround the group, creeping through the shadows just out of sword range. The fire within the
tavern grows, the first furtive fingers of fire reaching through the sagging roof of the place. All along the street, random townsfolk and passersby gawk at the growing blaze, but leap back into their houses when the Ghurugil march by.
"Now!" Vhraalam commands, and the vanguard of the formation rushes forward. Cutting a path through the three creatures to the south of the group, Vhraalam, Madfilin turn right, Ottar and Harek turn left, and all four push outward. As they grapple and slash at the fierce, feral creatures, the gap widens allowing the companions to continue their journey south. In seconds Atan, Draxim, Sangraal, Ruglan and their wounded friends are free of the battle and moving down the street. Behind them the Ghurugil form a line across the winding, muddy road and face off against the band of Chaos spawn.

Re: The Battle of Potters Row
"Hurry now! Stay in the center of the street." With the appearance of a three legged race contestant at a fair Atan shambles forward, the extra weight of Ulwe causing his numbed knee to burn.
"Ruglan grab point. Sangraal can you carry Madragar and let Draxim move forward with Brooslayer?"

Shaking his head apologeticly " I am bearly able to cary myself. I worry I only hinder Madragar more then help."
Trudging along Sangraal scans the roads and roofs searching for any signs of the mage who through the lightning bolts.
[OOC: spot +2: looking for any signs of the mage, invisiable or hiding, or pointy hat sticking above the crowd]
