Re: I'm a caddy, not tiger
"Draxim, Ulwe back to the door.", he repeats.
Holding his sword in his left hand, Atan gladly accepts one of the javelins for his right. Shifting his grip he raises the runemetal missile over his right shoulder. With a quick hop-skip forward he hurls it, a grunt of exertion escaping from his throut.
[move 1N, javelin at #3 +7/1d6+2 (not including any magic bonus)]
[Bladesharp was 10 rounds of swinging right, one hour otherwise? I have only used it in two rounds of melee and so assumed it would last another 8 rounds.]

Re: I'm a caddy, not tiger
[For Bladesharp, if the weapon is basically inert (in the scabbard or being carried) then it's an hour. In combat, where you're running around, dodging, etc.. it's 10 rounds whether you're swinging it or not.]
[You said: "Atan stays in place and holds his attack and attacks when any creature gets within range." So, your held action was to attack anyone that got within sword range. He could throw it now though.]

Bam!
The explosion behind him, sends a wave of fear through the sea-elf who has on this day experienced more terror than all of his long years combined. With a quick look behind him, Ulwe sees another exploding orb of fire. Seeing the other ball of flame to the front, Ulwe decides that discretion is the better part of valor.
The reassurance of the green light eminating from the Illuminating Orb, dictates Ulwe's route of retreat.
"Draxim fall back!"
[Ulwe moves a total of 30 feet to end his move 1 Sq E of Madragar. ]
[As I understand it, if you just move, you do not draw an AoO. Obviously I do not want to draw an AoO so If moving away does, Ulwe will ammend the order to moving 5' W and atttacking #2 again. ]
[Mostly right. If all you do is move, and you move directly out of the enemy's threatened area then you're fine. If all you do is move, and you move through his threatened area then he gets an AoO as normal. -GM]

[OK. I drew my sword in round 5 but held my action and was not attacked. In round 6 I moved to attack so I have 6 more rounds and will keep it posted at the bottom of my actions.]

No way out....
Sangraal flinches at he detination of the spheres and the ensueing fires.
"The way out is blocked and it seems Irigaal intends to take us with him." The warrior-priest smiles as takes cover behind the door.
"and the wicked will nash their teeth and be vexed......"
[OOC: Sangraal takes a 5 foot step to the SW using the door as cover. He will holds his attack till something comes within range.

Re: No way out....
Draxim is not sure who to believe anymore. He has seen Atan attack Ulwe, and Ulwe and Sangraal directly disobey Atan's orders, which led directly to the current mess. He then saw Ulwe hurl a javelin into the apparatus, and although he SAYS it was an accident, who can really be sure about these things...
So facing confusion, Draxim does what is in front of him to be done. That and he still feels a compelling need to messily dissect something.

Re: No way out....
Atan marvels at the perfect balance of the javelin, and watches in sublime fascination as the missile speeds to its target. The slithering snake-man is caught square in the chest, a gout of fire and smoke billowing outward from the wound. Hissing violently, the creature pulls the javelin from its torso with a pained expression and throws it contemptuously to the ground.
Moving in quickly against his opponent, Draxim hacks furiously at the burning serpent who deftly dodges and parries each strike.
Sangraal and Ulwe retreat behind the iron door.

Re: No way out....
Things are getting too hot for the bard, and no urging is needed to recall him the the group. Gripping tightly to his (unloaded) crossbow and shield, Khelzhad bolts pass the fireball and across the courtyard to the companions.
"We may still be able to get out down below through the lake - and the water would be most welcome right now!"

Re: No way out....
Janes steps back and draws his shortsword with his free hand. The blades slips smoothly from its scabbard its balance flawless. In the other hand he holds the javelin and awaits Atans direction.
He understands that by protecting the doorway, he also protects Theony. Oh what he wont do for a women.
[OOC: Janes steps 5 feet back 1 SW. Holds his attack till something enters his threat range.]

Re: No way out....
Skirting around the rolling ball of flame, hoping that it doesn't choose that moment to explode, Khelzhad hustles back to the battle line and the relative safety of his companions' company. Pogar resolutely advances to stand beside Draxim.
The gleaming Lunar shortsword sings from its sheath as Janes readies both it and one of the sleak, emblazoned javelins. Somewhere behind him Madragar begins to murmur some arcane chant, a familiar meditative exercise intended to reinforce his focus on the task at hand.
The slithering monsters begin to flank the two dwarves. Pogar, his eyes watchful and axe poised to strike, neatly parries a wild thrust by his adversary. Draxim is again struck by a tail lash, but dodges the stab of the copper spear that soon follows. The two stout warriors stand back to back.
The ground shakes with the double concussion of the detonation of both flaming spheres. Flaming flinders fly everywhere, mixed with a choking wave of smoke and heat. Fire spreads in brilliant pools and drifts downward from the ceiling where chunks of burning furniture break into even smaller bits.
The group by the door, defending both Madragar and Utama, watch the tense combat between the dwarves and their infernal foes. Their attention, however, is shocked into focus as an immense face becomes visible within the maelstrom of fire surrounding Zulquerzarhen. It is at once feral and demonic, but also sublime and beautiful, transforming into an infinite variety of shapes and expressions as it glares at the companions with naked rage. The face speaks, but words are lost within the thunderous torrent of the firestorm.
Yet another summoning circle appears, this one considerably larger than the last. The maelstrom seems to diminish slightly, its strength tapped by the power of this new creation.
Map updated.

Re: No way out....
"Thanks for joining me cousin! we really should get back to the others though this place will soon be as hot as the Ghuruskalli forges. Strategic retreat!"
[ S SE S S Full Defensive. Please don't forget Mobility when AOO occurs]
"Sangraal, If yer not gonna swing it at the enemy give it to me and ask for Yelm's help for the wounded."
Draxim will take his sword back from Sangraal if he lets him
[Edit: Crap I was hoping to catch Pogar before his action...any chance you let him revise it? Do you want to revise it?]
[For once Pogar's vague orders may work to his advantage. He didn't actually move, he just attacked, despite his axe being well out of range. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and have him retreat rather than slash the air menacingly. -GM]

[OOC: Sangraal has no spells left and no healing potions. ]
Sangraal returns Draxims blade noting " fine blade ...but wears the style?"
[OOC: the 2H no longer has bladsharp oil on it.]
The sun-priest unlimbers the monstrosity of a weapon from his back and makes ready to strike anything coming through the doorway.
Pointing emphatically at the eastern wall to a shimmering spherical distortion "here come more!"
"Hold at the door!"
[OOC: He will hold his attack, striking at anything that comes into range.

Stepping back with the party, "Excuse me Janes", he says as he liberates the last javelin from his hand. Turning back to face the demons, he readies the javelin for a throw.

Re: No way out....
Draxim and Pogar retreat. Atan plucks another javelin from Janes' grasp and heaves it one of the snake-men. The missile flies as if it had wings, plunging right through the torso of the flaming creature, pushing chunks of its infernal heart out its back. In a flash of fire and brimstone the vicious monster vanishes.

Re: No way out....
Janes now unburdened of the enchanted javelins goes defensive, his shortsword clasp with both hands in a white-knuckle grip.
[OOC: Janes takes a 5 foot step to the SW and holds his attack till something comes with in range.
GM - you also forgot Madragar]
Madragar feeling the pulsing heat waves passing by wisely decides that eventually Irigaal could get one in the door, so he backs up 10 feet, using the wall as a guide. Also Kythe's natural fear of fire takes over and the bird squawks as it flies a short distance to land high upon the shelves on the west wall of the tower. Temporarily safe it stops to ponder the delicacies of sun-ripened squirrel.
[OOC: Madragar concentrates on the spell and moves 1 w and 1 NW. Kythe moves to safty 11 NW]
