Re: Sword elders?
"That is more than I can hope to assuage with a Charm of Rest," says Madragar. "Could they be lured away somehow?"

That's a tough nut!
"Good job Pogar! Critical information to be certain. So the whole block is under the protection of the Lioness it would appear. The shopkeeper lives upstairs and few people go in and out of the area." Atan scratchs his head for a momment, pulling on the leather strap holding back his hair, he bundels it back into a tight knot.

"An open fight is not in our best interest. We need to change our plan quickly."

Atan's face brightens quickly, "Or maybe it is. I think the Oggsrund Axemen may like to hear information on six to ten Kuralitai essentially trapped in a one way alley. Then during the ruckus we help ourselves to the shopkeeper. We would need to remove him from the premise if we can. Any suggestions?"

Re: That's a tough nut!
Ulwe returns
"I have consulted with the Wise. We must still immediately move against Uruul. However while I agree with the Captain that a new plan is in order, I must express my reservation about involving the Axemen. Brae, like myself feels that open conflict between two well armed factions in the streets of Dobrug will be bad for all.

Let us consider stealth as proposed by others earlier.
The tools we have at our disposal:
I can Summon a Mist I can also Hold a Person.
Madragar can Sleep someone as well as Spider Climb and become invisible
Atan and Draxim can climb walls
We have Khelzhad's ring of vanishing
We have a potion of invisibility

What can we do with these tools?"

Ulwe inspects Pogar's gashed head.
and heals it if necessary.

Re: That's a tough nut!
"Thank you Ulwe." Pogar says when he feels the warming healing power of Orlanth. "I think that if we are trying to stay somewhat secret, then I think we should plant the idea to the axemen. That why they can cause the ruckus, and leave us as outsiders. Then, with Draxim, me, Ruglan and anyone else who wants to engage the single guard inside, can, while Madragar can cause the guard to fall asleep. Kehlzhad can then talk to the shop keeper. However, I do think that this shopkeeper is in with Yashai, a lot deeper than originally suspected. Regardless of what we do, I think that open battle will come of our actions, regardless"

Re: Side note
[It takes two cure light wounds to get Pogar back up to full. Ruglan and Draxim won't be participating in the operation. They're NPCs until Conlon and Kenner start playing again.]

"A sound plan, cousin! A distraction would greatly help. In addition to th items Ulwe has listed, I also have a scroll of sleep, and one of the Whispering Wind, with which we can use to communicate, if I know where to send the message. I shall undertake to question Uruul, and will attempt the difficult song of truth [charm] that my master taught me."

Re: Side note
"Permit me to offer an alternative," says Madragar. "Uruul must leave his heavily-guarded compound from time to time, no? Why do we not intercept him then?"

Re: That's a tough nut!
"Time, my friend. Time is against us. We need to know what he knows now yesterday." Atan looks puzzled at his own words wondering if his sentence is correct.

A slight pause, "Ulwe has summed up our abilities nicely, but I do think the Axemen provide us a nice cover for our job. During the fight we make our move on the shopkeeper. And Mad, you may be the best suited for the task. Your ability to climb, become invisible and enslumber our objective makes you ideal."

"Get you in a upper window. Find the merchant, enslumber him. Mean while we pop the front door, meet up with you and carry this guy to the wharehouse for interrogation."

Re: That's a tough nut!
"Gentlemen please..." begins Ulwe "I pray you let us not have more blood shed than is necessary. If the Axemen serve our needs for the now what about tomorrow when the Kuraliti reprisals occur? And then the Axemen's reprisals and so on until there is open warefare in the streets of Dobrug. Let's not break the dishes to wash them. "

He pauses for a moment. Then continues "What if I summon an obscuring mist to conceal our efforts? If the Kuraliti cannot see what is going on are they not removed from the fight bloodlessly? An oxcart can block the alley and then they are trapped inside and blind."

Re: Dobrug
To Atan, Madragar says "Alas, I cannot make myself or anything else invisible. I can, however, change my visage to appear otherwise, and also enchant a rope to do my bidding, so that others may follow me easily."

To Ulwe, he says "I agree that we must not start a war. However, recall that Yashai's entourage includes a wizard. Possibly, it is the Lioness herself. For all we know, she may employ more than one. If you heed my advice, you will be prepared to summon your mists more than once, my friend."

"Would that I knew the Charm of Unbinding."

Re: That's a tough nut!
"I had thought that as well Ulwe, but there are multiple backdoors in that courtyard. If the guard wanted to get around the cart they could simply pass though another shop. The Axemen should keep their full attention."

"Plus our actions will most likely be attributed to them as well concealing our identities." Atan looks about a little frustrated on the task before offering, "We could just bribe the guy. Offer him a bunch of money. I don't know if it will work and we will be showing all our cards, but it would be bloodless."

Plans
In reply to Madragar: "I can summon Mists about myself but twice more this night. I can summon a mist where I chose but once a day."

To Atan Ulwe continues: "I do not wish to involve the Axemen. I think it is a dangerous idea. Oggsrund is a Spearbearer which is the most powerful cult in the Locamyridra. I do not wish my actions to bring ill-repute upon my temple or the sect Aerendalen. Let us formulate a plan without bringing a feud into the peaceful streets of Dobrug. If our plan succeeds or fails, the repercussions will outlast tonight. Better we only involve ourselves."

Ulwe's stern countenance indicates he is quite adamant about this particular position.

Re: Plans
"He speaks wisely, Atan," says Madragar. "We begin to forge a reputation. Let it not be one of bloody recklessness. If we fight for something greater than ourselves, it is for the people. We need them on our side."

"Let us try stealth and speed, rather than brute force. The best result will be confusion, rather than slaughter."

Re: Plans
"Its good to see some of us thinking with our heads and not our blood lust. By my thinkin', this is a simple thing that we need to do. Why not go down together, or possibly minus me because I have already been seen there. As a drunk, but seen regardless. But, if we go in as a group, we could go in, and just ask. Maybe one of us can use our wiles and "make" him tell the truth, of our questions. Is there any spells that anyone has, that could force him to tell us the truth. If we are attacked, we can use the evidence of self defence, if there is any bloodshed." At the mention of bloodshed, Pogar seems to get a little eager, remembering the blow to the back of the head he recieved from the guard inside.

Re: Plans
"I couldn't disagree with you all more." Atan looks about at the party, "The Axemen will sette their score regardless, we can at least guide their actions to benefit the greater good. With their help the odds are in our favor as I see it. Without, the odds favor Yashai."

"But if speed and stealth, then I suggest Janes and I go alone. Tonight. We can try to gain access through the upstairs windows."

Re: Plans
Madragar smiles at this. "Do you really think you can look more innocuous or climb a wall more readily than a wizard, Atan? We need not all enter the building, but we must all be ready when the plan meets reality."

Re: Plans
Ulwe shakes his head.
"Finith, we must not fan the flames. The Kuralitai though they may be in the employ of Yashai, they are not our enemy. Oggsrund's Axemen are the personal bodyguard of the most influential man in all of Dobrug. What makes you so sure they will do our bidding otherwise? They are as you are so fond of labeling 'unknowns.' Let's not hatch a plan which depends entirely upon a band of mercenaries thirst for feuding."

"Forget not that Pogar saw at least one patrol. That means that Kuralitai will attracted to the commotion, meaning more trouble. Yashai's palace is nearby with even more Kuralitai to reinforce the merchant's bodyguards. Can't you see how involving the Axemen will spell our failure? The fight will fill the streets with Kuralitai and ordinary Olmanni yeomanry making our escape all the more difficult. Let us not speak of that anymore. We do it ourselves or not at all."

He nods in agreement with Madragar, "If we do this we should do it all together. We have an amazing pool of talents and abilities to work with."

"I can summon a Fog Cloud which will last for half an hour. It will be sufficient to envelop the entire merchant's house, or the couryard. I can also summon an Obscuring Mist at least twice more tonight, which is the same size as the Fog but lasts only a few minutes. This will help our escape though."

"I can also Hold a Person enthrall to Orlanth's will for a few minutes."

"Madragar's talents speak for themselves. Against the possibility of a wizard we'll need a wizard. I would think twice about doing anything without the Fisherman's Son."

"Pogar's ferocity and insane bravery have more than once proved their value. We'll need him if there is a scrap in any case especially without Ruglan."

"Khelzhad's way with people will be needed to either trick those who would question our purpose in the Olmanni quarter, or convince the Uruul to talk. His stories can even Charm the truth from the merchant."

"You and Janes will be the point men who ifiltrate, supported by the rest of our uniqe talents."

Re: Plans
"Eye, there was a patrol. After the action last night, there may be more, with the axemen and Yashai's guards. Plans may have already been made for the axemen to retaliate, or possibly Yashai's guards to retaliate. However, I also feel that using the fog would bring more attention to us than need be. Be there a spell that could silence the shopkeeper? One charm, or hold the guard inside, and one silence the shopkeeper because once he sees whats going on, he will arise an alarm. Plus, there was a door that was closed, and I didnt have much of a chance to look into it. There may be more guards back there as well. By the way it looks, fellas, we be fightin whether or not we like it." Pogar says with a grim look on his face. He doesnt know anyother way around it. He grabs his trusty axe and smiles, always feeling more comfortable with it in his hands than not in his hands.

Re: Plans
Khelzhad, who had suggested bribery two days before, harrumphs at Atan's suggestion but retains his smooth demeanor while agreeing with Ulwe, Madragar and Janes on the stealthier approach.
