Make it so! Mark your sheets accordingly.

Re: Greed is Good
Ulwe votes to sell the crown.
[ooc: remember his augury which called selling the crown 'a boon' was only accurate for 1/2 hour. So it is not necessarily a long-term good idea. That said I think the cash is worth more than the trouble the crown will cause. ]
Also while the group is still discussing treasure and money Ulwe thumps his head with his forefinger and then points it at Madragar: "Oh yes, I nearly forgot. What about those four potions we found in the Horde?"

Re: Greed is Good
Pogar quietly slipps Ulwe 50 gold and whispers to him "Give it wisely" with a smile.

Re: Greed is Good
Ulwe accepts Pogars incredibly generous offering with a sly wink back at Pogar. To whom he whispers "The truly generous need no recognition for their works. With your gift many hungry and cold souls will be warmed."
[Ulwe does not mark the 50 gold from Pogar on his character sheet. The next day Ulwe and some of his fellow-priests spend the money on blankets to be given out to the needy. ]
[How are Ulwe's efforts going with the down-trodden poor of Dobrug?]

Ulwe presents the gold [Pogar's donation and his own, presumably] to Waed Daeva, who thanks the young priest for his hard work and influence among his companions. The "down-trodden" are, however, not the direct beneficiaries of Ulwe's largesse. Instead, Waed Daeva invests in a batch of new spears and tall, oval shields he's had his eye on, then distributes them among the acolytes of the Order.

Re: Dobrug
Honesty hurts, but there are no such vials on Madragar's possession list. Are they on Draxim's?

Re: Dobrug
Quote: Madragar gives the four potions the alchemical once-over and concludes that three of them are magic potions: Bull Strength (5th level), Blur (4th level), and Invisibility (7th level). The fourth potion has, over the passage of time, lost its efficacy and is now useless.
The potion of Blur is on Madragar's equipment list. You can divy up the other two now.

Re: Dobrug
If Ulwe shows up at Janes' Inn (trademark pending) then he'll let Ulwe know that he also votes for selling the crown. More trouble than it's worth, certainly.

Re: Dobrug
Armed to the teeth and secure in the knowledge that they're safe for at least half an hour, the companions make for the home of the noble Yashai. There they are greeted warmly, and soon offered not only more strong liquor and tabac, but a treasure increasingly scarce in wintry Dobrug: fresh fruit.
Tense and on guard, Pogar and Ruglan remain standing while their companions lounge on thick carpets and tall pillows. Yashai engages them in a bit of small talk while two of her guards produce a small, iron-bound chest. Within it eight bulging leather sacks sit in two rows.
"Each sack contains one thousand lunars," Yashai intones. "Feel free to inspect them."
This Draxim does. Selecting one sack at random, he and Janes go about estimating the number of coins within by pouring out its contents onto a wooden tray provided for them. They count quickly.
"The crown will make a fine addition to my collection. An interesting curio to be sure," Yashai muses. "It is no business of mine, but might I ask from where you obtained the crown?"

Re: Dobrug
Ulwe stands as well, hovering over the proceedings.
When Yashai asks her question, Ulwe says nothing but looks around at the others with a slight scowl.

Re: Dobrug
Khelzhad answers truly, but not fully, that it came from the depths of the Cairnhollow, a part of a horde guarded by many dark creatures, "and not without cost" he adds, bowing his head with the memory of Chandra's the dead and twisted body.

Re: Dobrug
Yashai smiles. "Ah, I see. Bringing the craft of the sunlanders back from the depths is a noble cause, Master Khelzhad. Such treasures should be torn from the grasp of darkness at every opportunity. I applaud your efforts."
"I wonder," Yashai continues "if you've ever come across any unusual stones in your travels. I am always looking for samples of runemetal, of course, but there are certain examples of crafted stone that are part of an important collection I seek. They are round, flat, and made of a strange grey stone, with inscriptions on one side. Have you seen anything that may match this description?"

Re: Dobrug
As Pogar is standing, he will look around the room, taking in what the room looks like. Also, aware where her guards are and how they are standing, whether or not they seem like they are tense, or are they seeming relaxed in their position.
[Is this a large room, with lots of expensive items, or is it a small room? What are the guards wearing, how are they armed and by Pogars estimation of his surroundings and what he has seen, how many guards does Pogar think are around?]

Re: Dobrug
The room is about forty feet on a side, with a raised platform at one end where Yashai reclines. The whole place, walls, floor and ceiling, are covered in rugs and tapestries. While they appear to be of fine craftsmanship, Pogar can't estimate their worth.
The guards are armed with broad-bladed sabres and wear long, bronze-embellished chainmail shirts. Their feathered helmets and brilliantly colored surcoats mark them as members of Yashai's kuralitai, or personal guard. There are rumored to be dozens of these veteran warriors living in and around Yashai's sprawling house complex. Furthermore, the Lioness commands the loyalty of hundreds of displaced Olmani tribesmen and less fortunate refugees that have made Dobrug their home over the past few weeks.

[How many guards are there? ]
Ulwe stands back from Draxim and Janes' efforts and now has his attention fixed on Yashai. He is watching her to try to figure out some basic things about her personality. [Sense Motive +2 to get a 'hunch' about Yashai's intent. ]

Re: Dobrug
There are six guards in Yashai's immediate vicinity, and two near the door the companions came in.
Yashai seems relaxed and confident. Neither she nor her guards appear to be tense at all. The guards are watchful, but don't look poised for action.
Ulwe gets the impression that Yashai is not the sort of person to splatter her meeting hall with blood. Nor does she seem the type to put herself at any personal risk, if she could avoid it.

Quote: Madragar, busy as always, is not present at Yashai's.
Ulwe feels somewhat relaxed by the deportment of thier hostess. He is rueful that the resourceful and wise Madragar could not have attended the meeting this night. As such he remains on guard but makes effort not to appear hostile.
"Khelzhad," Ulwe calls to the Dwarven Bard "Perhaps our hostess would enjoy a tale from your lands?"
Ulwe tries to buy the bean-counters time as well as allow Khelzhad to use his bardic skills to influence this powerful denizen of Dobrug.
