Re: Dobrug, Part II
The moment Pogar draws his dagger and begins advancing on Uruul the spell is broken. The shopkeeper curses loudly in his native tongue, recognizing that he had been deceived and seems determined not to say another word.

Draxim has never seen Uruul before.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
"You Fool!"
Shouts Ulwe as Pogar draws his weapon.
His face reddens in anger at the dwarf.

Once Khelzhad's spell is worn off, Ulwe shouts at Pogar:

"Begone, get thee to a tavern and drink your dull mind even duller! We've no more use for your imbecilic antics."

Ulwe will in no way allow Pogar to cut the captive's throat.
[note to GM]

[I had thought that Uruul was blind-folded this whole time but it does not seem so. Has he seen everyone's face?]

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[I don't recall someone actually blindfolding him, though it may have been suggested. Blind or not, any threat by the caster's allies breaks the Charm. That would be something Ulwe, Madragar and Khelzhad would all know. It may have been wise to tell the others.]

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[I didnt think he was charmed, but what is done is done]

Turning to Ulwe, Pogar opens his mouth argue, then decides better of it.

Looking at the rest of the group, Pogar looks at them apologeticly. " I didnt know. It didnt look as though we were getting any answers anyways. Whether or not he knows anything, I am sick and tired of hearing his little voice. We want answers and we want them now!"
Pogar, in frustration, will walk off and throw an unoccupied chair against the wall. The noise reverberates across the room as it shatters and falls to the floor.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Draxim looks at Khelzhad conspiratorially. "Do you think we can hold him off? Last time he was like this we were scrubbin' the ruby off the cobbles* for days."

[ Ruby is common Dobrug gutter slang for blood. ]

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Janes, who has been watching Uruul closely during the interrogation, calls his companions into a huddle.

"We're not frightening this man," Janes whispers. "He seems to know our threats are empty, and we are openly divided as to how to deal with him. Without Khelzhad's charm we'll need to come up with a different tactic."

"We can also sit on him until he tells us out of boredom."

Draxim goes over and conducts a thorough search of Uruul's person

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Uruul wears a pair of silver rings and a silver necklace. Draxim finds an empty sheath (Janes currently has his dagger) and a small pouch tucked into the folds of his robes. The pouch contains a handful of silver and gold coins.

Draxim finds nothing else.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[My bad guys, I thought that Ward failed the spell, not Uruul. So, Im sorry. ]

"Well, my threats dont have to be so empty" Pogar says blandly while eyeing Uruul.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Quote:
Before Uruul is bundled off to the safehouse (the warehouse) blindfolded, Ulwe insists that the merchant strip down to remove any jewlery or weapons. He is also adamant that any distinguishing clothing be removed. He offers Uruul his own sturdy sea-cloak to keep warm.

He offers no explanation to Uruul for his requests but as an aside to Madragar he whispers: "These items might be used to Locate him. Better safe than sorry."

Once the articles are removed from Uruul, Ulwe stuffs them in a pile of refuse and enlists Atan's aid in hiding them further.

"Let's take him away."

[Sorry but I thought he was both blidfolded and had all his posessions removed before being brought to the Warehouse. If his stuff is not in an alley but made its way to the warehouse Ulwe insists the items be removed and tossed in the harbor. ]

Ulwe a little in control of his ire turns from Pogar and back to Uruul.

"Saluhag is your master is he not, Uruul?"

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[Ok, he's blindfolded and all but his clothing was left behind.]

Uruul says nothing in reply to Ulwe's question.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Draxim will set about inspecting the warehouse a little more closely, then quietly addressing the unsteady crow on his shoulder, "here now why'nt ya flap off an' play lookout?" he slips Kyethe a little morsel of cheese crisp from his food satchel. He then starts tying a noose. [Yes I know he's blindfolded.]

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[Can he be re-charmed later by the same charmer?]

"We'll wait him out. He'll speak eventually."

Ulwe later speaks with each party member out of ear-shot to tell them not to attack or threaten Uruul.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[Kyethe is off warning Ruglan (and, I thought, Draxim) to gather our gear.]

Madragar sighs and approaches Uruul (still disguised by the Alter Self spell).

"Uruul of Dobrug," he says. "We are honorable men. It is not you we seek, but a dangerous criminal. Naredru is not the man he once was. Poisoned by the shadow, he has committed terrible crimes. We know you have no love of Chaos. We wish to release you, unharmed, this very day. But you must believe that we will do what is necessary to defeat the spread of Chaos in Dobrug."

"Life is precious, but what is one life compared to the many that will perish if this man is not brought to justice? I bear you no ill will, Uruul. But I must know the truth. I will know the truth, one way or the other."

"So the question is, Uruul, are you a patriot? If so, tell us what we need to know and you will be released and rewarded, a profitable day to both your purse and your soul."

He leaves unsaid the threat of the other possibility.

[Both Draxim and Ruglan went with the rest of the party to fetch Uruul. They were waiting a block or two away with Ulwe, Khelzhad and Pogar, though Ulwe and Khelzhad were eventually called into Uruul's shop.

Currently, everyone (except Sangraal) is in the warehouse.]

Uruul remains silent for a time, despite Madragar's appeal.

Finally, he hisses "release me if you are friends of light. Seek out Naredru, wherever he is. Your business is with him, not me."

Ulwe speaks up after Uruul
"My business is with you right now merchant. Why did he fly straight to your shop? What did you discuss with him?"

Re: Dobrug, Part II
"Ool joppa rasham," Uruul spits in Ulwe's general direction.

The priest looks over to Khelzhad for translation but the dwarf merely grimaces. It was apparently a particularly offensive curse.

"Either you speak to us willingly, or you will speak to the SwordElders unwillingly. You will find we are more kind than they. Why did NAredru come to your shop? Where did he go?!"
