Re: Silence
Khelzhad the bard is eager to explore the downward passage, but takes heeds the wind-voice of Orlanth and pauses. He sheathes his longsword, then swaps his steel shield for the light crossbow on his shoulder and loads the weapon.

Re: Silence
Draxim points down the westward tunnel whispers "there."

A pair of bobbing lantern lights can be seen approaching, carried by a knot of armed men and elves, spears and shields at the ready. The sound of their equipment clinking and creaking echoes down the tube, though they seem to be trying to remain silent. It takes the group a minute or two to reach the companions, at which time Ulwe recognizes them as a dozen of his fellow Aerendalen (more than half of all the priests of that sect currently in Dobrug) led by Waed Daeva.

Hunched over, and his height reduced by age, the venerable Brae hobbles along amongst them. He wears a time worn mail hauberk that looks as if it fit him much better twenty years ago. While the aged Brae leans heavily on a thick wooden staff, he seems much more mobile and energetic than when Ulwe last saw him - probably, Ulwe surmises, due to some divine assistance.

Waed Daeva smiles broadly at Ulwe and the companions with equal parts pleasure and admiration. It is clear he is happy to be involved in such an exciting and important expedition. Brae pushes past the younger priest and approaches the group. Looking them over, the Diviner murmurs "Waed, see to the wounded."

Draxim examines his gashes with little expertise, "anyone got a linen thingy?"

Re: Silence
"Well met" Pogar greets the new comers. "Anyone know where Yashai is? She has a "collection" of chaotic things that I feel we need to relieve her of" Pogar finishes grimly.

Re: Silence
Waed Daeva turns to address his band of acolytes and whispers a few orders. The band then splits up, taking up positions a few feet down each spoke of the intersection, their spears and shields forming a defensive ring around the companions. Passing through the crowded tunnel, Ulwe exchanges friendly greetings with his fellow priests.

Waed himself looks over Janes' wounded shoulder and intones a short prayer, beseeching Orlanth to heal what he calls the "brave warrior in the struggle against Chaos." Janes tries to hide a sarcastic smirk.

Draxim receives similar attention and both he and Janes are completely healed.

Brae nods to Pogar as he passes by on his way to Ulwe. Thinking out loud the old man whispers "dwarves. Good. We'll need those."

Then, reaching Ulwe, the Diviner grabs the much taller priest by the ear and pulls his head down. Staring deeply into the elf's eyes Brae declares "you've had a brush with the Spirit World, boy. Drink this. All of it."

Brae produces a large silver flask and hands it to Ulwe. Considering the matter of the Aerendalen's worrisome state concluded, he regards Pogar again.

"Yashai. Yes. She's around here somewhere, I'm sure. She has more to protect than that crown. Your axe has done good work, Ghuraskalli, but I do not doubt Yashai has cured her wounds by now. Come," Brae intones, wrapping his staff against the floor of the tunnel for emphasis and pointing toward the northeast passage. "let us press on together. Waed, you will stay here and cover our means of escape."

Waed Daeva is crestfallen, and gives Ulwe a plaintive and jealous look.

Re: Silence
Looking at the elder elf, Pogar asks "Escape?"

Looking at Waed, Pogar pauses for a second. "Also, I do not doubt your clans prowess in battle, but why only leave one to aid in our escape? if he stays alone, I will not have that. I will join him." Pogar finishes, grabbing his familiar axe and situating the sword back into his belt.

Re: Silence
[Brae is not an elf.

Waed Daeva is not staying alone, but with the dozen Aerendalen that have taken up position in the tunnel.]

"Yes," Brae replies. "escape. I have watched your progress and gathered but a small part of the might of the Locamyrida to come to your aid. Once Yashai's true form was revealed I knew it was time. Now we go into her lair and I do not know what we wil find. Best to be prepared for the unfortunate."

Re: Silence
"So, what yer sayin' is Yashai was not infact human, but that worm type thing?"

Pogar ponders on that thought for a moment and shivers run up and down his spine, thinking of the creations that spawn from Chaos.

Atan accounts for his gear, checks his supply of arrows and the pull of his bow. Once satified that he is ready for the upcoming battle he waits for the others.

Re: Silence
"We had a brew that carried the strength of a young bull, now would be a good time for Draxim to drink it."

[OOC: Draxim is carring on him the potion of Bulls Strength that was never divided up. Since Draxim is the frontline guy it might be good for him to drink it.]

Six Demon Bag
Madragar waits nervously, feeling the seconds tick by on his precious defensive spells, acutely aware that he has no more spells to cast and is now the least useful warrior in the entire band.

He paces unhappily during the delay.

Re: Six Demon Bag
"Thank you Wise One." he says to the aged priest. Ulwe then downs the contents of the silver flask quickly. He returns Daeva's look with an expression of resignation. He tries to conceal the feelings of pride he has at being favored over his superior by the venerable Brae the Diviner. Confident in the divine purpose as well as the moral clarity of the mission Ulwe stands tall, gleaming spear in hand. With a nod to Khelzhad, he raps his small steel shield twice.

Re: Six Demon Bag
Pogar will rap his axe upon his shield in response, eager to get going.
Waiting to meet death face to face, yet again.

Re: Six Demon Bag
Draxim pulls the potion from his pack. "Now when did that get there?" he muses. "How long would something like this last, " he asks Madragar putting the potion in his ready pouch for now. Then noticing that the aged Orlanthian preist is preparing to take the lead, he jumps to the fore in his typical protective fashion. "Here reverend father, let me go first, you never can tell what kind of ruffians are lurkin' about the sewers of Dobrug." He starts up the NE passage, quietly and checking for traps etc.

The resurection of the last of the rubber chickens
[Pogar, noting a rubber chicken laying against the wall, will quickly grab it and swing it above his head, squealing gibberish, to scare off the creatures in front of him.......]

Pogar, not to be outdone by his dwarven friend, will move foward, opposite side of Draxim, with the elder in between him and Draxim, to prepare to defend the elder with his life.

"Difficult to say with accuracy," replies the journeyman mage. "I could tell you if I had time and a laboratory. Four hours, give or take, I'd guess."

[In Edition 3.0, buff spells like Bull's Strength last 1 hour per caster level. Minimum caster level for Bull's Strength is 4.]
