Re: Dobrug, Part II
[OOC; Halles on his ship so if its ok, I'll play Atan for a bit. I want to play but Sangraal is currently far removed from the game.]
Atan, his grip secure, begins instucting the captive.
"Now, close your eyes. Do not open them unless we tell you to. If you so much as sqweek there will not be enough of you found to feed the rats. If you understand nod."
Atan waits for an affirmitive nod before proceeding.
"I am going to ask you several questions, some I know the answers to, some I don't. You can lie but if you lie on the wrong question, your a dead man. Lets begin."
"Who are you?"
"How many others are in here? "
"Where does the stairs lead?"
[OOC; Intimidate check? intimidation check? Gather information check?]

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[Interrogation is an Intimidate check.]
The stranger says quietly and slowly "I am Uruul Aravas. There is no one else here that I know of. The stairs lead to a tunnel." Uruul seems fairly cooperative.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
"Stick to the plan. We'll do this elsewhere," says Madragar. The disguised wizard shoves a rag into Uruul's mouth.
"Bind him, and get ready to go."
He steps to where the merchant will not hear him, pulls out a scroll of Whispering Wind and casts it, sending the following message to Ulwe:
"We need a physical description of the target. Return description by same method. Speed and details important."

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Atan glance to Janes before asking another question.
"Where does the tunnel go? Be quick about it." the ranger growls.
"Who do you work for?"
Seeing the mage shove a rag into Uruuls mouth.
"Dusky, stop it. If the man cooperates then he goes free." Atan pulls the rag back out out of the merchants mouth.
"My swarthy friend grows impacient. Answer quickly."

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[ Well sense motive (6 not 7) jumps out as a first to see if this guy is telling the truth about who he is. From there I just wanted you to have the bluff and diplomacy checks available when they come up. ]
Janes scans the room quickly and will attempt to assist Atan in tying the guy up.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Atan finaly gets to the big question.
"You quarreled with a tall cloaked man on a horse in the streets several days ago. What became of him? Where is he?"

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[Madragar can deliver his message, since Ulwe, Khelzhad and Ruglan have remained where Atan left them - about a block away. The return message, however, can't be delivered because Khelzhad doesn't know Madragar's exact location.]
Uruul replies to Atan "It goes east to the next block. I work for Yashai. I don't know what became of that man."
So far, Janes doesn't get a strong sense either way about Uruul's honesty.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
"Then tell us what you know of him. Was he a man?"
"What did you quarrel about? Who has him now?"
"Where does the tunnel end?"

Atan shoves the rag back into Uruuls mouth.
"Times up. Back to the plan."
[OOC; Just read back through the old posts. If you want to take him to the abandoned wearhouse then lets do that.]

Re: Dobrug, Part II
"Wait here a moment. If we have the wrong man, this will all have been for nothing."
Madragar then goes up the stairs to the previous room.
*Kyethe,* he sends. *Come to me.*
Madragar whips out a small scrap of paper and ties it to Kyethe's leg. "Take this to Ulwe, the elf. Let him give you a reply."
On the scrap is written the word "Description?"
"Go."

Re: Dobrug, Part II
The message is delivered to Ulwe who is standing with Khelzhad and Ruglan a block or so to the north.
[Khelzhad is the only one who's gotten a good look at Uruul. The kind of brief description he would be able to provide could easily be applied to hundreds of other middle-aged Olmani in Dobrug.]

When the black bird comes out of the darkness and alights on Ulwe's shoulder, the sea-elf is startled. He quickl regains his composure and listens to th estrange craoking voice of Madragar's familiar. Ulwe tells Kythe "Khelzhad will be come to the door. He will look Olmanni."
Then after the messenger flies off, Ulwe hisses into the darkenss for Khelzhad.
"Songwise, they need you to identify Uruul. Your disguise should help you go unnoticed. Go to the front door, they will be waiting."

Re: Dobrug, Part II
A bit nervous about using the ring of disguise for the first time, but resolute in the rejoined battle against chaos, Khelzhad tries to walk with long, confident strides toward the shop, proceeding to the alley behind. On the way, he decides upon the name Olmanish name of Oban, a young member of the Ironhoof clan with which he is most familiar.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Khelzhad, in the form of Oban, walks down the dark street through the cold rain, passes Pogar (who is not so inconspicuously watching) and reaches Uruul's shop. Knocking gently he enters and confirms the identity of the Olmani shopkeeper.

[OOC: Whose up for exploring the tunnel? we are adventures and we even have this cool lantern to guide our way. I bet it will lead us to the grey stone.
We just knock this guy out, tie him up and go down the tunnel.]

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Starting to enjoy his assumed identity, Khelzhad/Oban scolds the Companions in a harsh whisper. "Incompetent Dobrugi!"
Then, sternly to the gagged Urluu, in Olmani. "Shameless, thou, who trades with chaos!"
The bard glares into the Olmani's eyes for reaction.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[No plan survives contact with the Dunn.]
Seeing Atan lost in thought, looking between the lantern and the tunnel, Madragar lays a steadying hand on his friend's shoulder.
"The plan is sound," he says, assuming his usual place at Atan's side. "You will have achieved its goals only when this man is secure in the hands of our friends. It would be wise to deliver him as agreed, and then, perhaps, return here to investigate. I know you yearn to see what lies beneath every stone, but to lead you must be willing to put the mission first. This may require leaving some stone unturned."
