Re: Dobrug, Part II
Definitely not. Madragar will remain with the main group at all time thereafter, to minimize the chances that an invader will take him first, thereby eliminating the value of the Alarm spell.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Ulwe casts Detect Chaos and then bores into the Olmanni's soul.
[ Detect Chaos +11, +20) +31 and takes a 20 on the roll ]

After he has studied the prisoner, he moves behind behind Uruul and speaks to the merchant in elven:

"Where is the disk?"

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[Presumably after taking the rag out of his mouth, and after someone produces a light source...]

Uruul, standing unsteadily with his hands bound, shakes his head.

"What disk?"

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Pogar will remain at the door to stand guard. Noticing Madragars casting, Pogar will still stand by the front door, incase any of the onlookers decides to try to do anything irrational.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
As they enter the hideout, Khelzhad pulls Atan and Madragar aside and whispers: "Methinks it wise to prepare our departure this eve. Madragar - can Kyethe warn Draxim and Ruglan to ready our things? Else one of us should do so and prepare. Captain Atan - the Olmani are swift horsemen as you know. If Yashai pursues us, we will be hard pressed to out pace them," he adds looking down at his stout Ghuraskalli boots.

After this brief conversation, Khelzhad will position himself behind the prisoner so as to not give away his identity should the effects of Silreik's Ring wear off.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[Did Uruul answer in Elven? Did Ulwe Detect any taint of Chaos?]

Ulwe repeats himself with a more foreceful voice in Elven. [i[ "The Disk Naredru had when he met with you! We know you met with him, your lies will not avail you. Where is the disk?!" [/i]

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[Didn't notice the elven part.]

Uruul shakes his head at Ulwe, not understanding.

The priest does not detect the slightest trace of Chaos on the shopkeeper.

Re: Dobrug, Part II
"A wise precaution, Khelzad" says Madragar. "I shall see to it."

Afterwards, he summons Kyethe to him (someplace where Uruul will not see it.

"Kyethe," he says to the talking bird, feeding him a bit of corn. "Go find Ruglan and Draxim. Tell them that we must all be prepared to leave this night. Prepare their things, and ours, that all may be ready to leave swiftly."

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Ulwe switches to the common tongue and again loudly interrogates Uruul. "You met with an elf named Naredru. What did he want with you?!"

[Those with appropriate skills shopuld feel free to question him as well... Khelzhad, Janes, Ruglan...]

[You can...if you have the Charm spell.]

[Looks like it's time for the poor man's charm: Intimidate.]

Re: Dobrug, Part II
In brief spurts of Olmani, the disguised Khelzhad lowers his voice to tell Uruul of his plight:

"Merchant - we know you have dealt with chaos. 3 nights ago a man came to your shop on a horse made of mist, and you welcomed him into your abode. That man was Naredu, and he is wanted for committing heinous crimes against the Lightbringers. You shall tell us what became of him or you shall rue your stubbornness most bitterly."

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Uruul looks into Khelzhad's eyes and snorts.

"We will both regret your foolishness," he replies in Moagaran. "The might of the Lioness will be upon your heads, I assure you."

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Unflustered, Khelzhad changes to plan B. Master Threyar used to have a way of chanting that could place an unsuspecting listener under his voice of command. Khezhad had never been able to get past test of enchanting the simple ghurrow, but he will nevertheless attempt to Charm Uruul.

[Khelzhad achieved the requisite Perform level 6 over the winter.]

Re: Dobrug, Part II
[Uruul got a +5 bonus to his save since Khelzhad was, until a few seconds ago, threatening him. He still failed.]

The shopkeeper's eyes dart around the room as he moves close to Khelzhad.

"Quick, untie me," Uruul whispers in Khelzhad's ear. "These Moagarans can't be trusted."

Khelzhad responds for all to hear: "The priests are convinced of your complicity with chaos, but they may exonerate you if you help them in this task against the Shadow, I do not think they will wait much longer."

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Uruul snorts again, glaring at Ulwe. "This priest is a pretender. If he had just cause he wouldn't have crept through the darkness like the thief, and carried me here in secret. Is yours a god of justice, elf?"

The shopkeeper, despite having his hands tied behind his back, is openly defiant.

"Let us leave this place, brother," Uruul pleads again to Khelzhad. "Bring me to Yashai and you will be rewarded."

Re: Dobrug, Part II
Tiring and becoming increasingly aggitated, Pogar speaks. "Bah, he's of no use to us. Just slit his throat and be done with it."
Pogar slowly moves toward Uruul, threatingly while pulling out a daggar, from behind his back. Pogar will walk past, or through anyone he has to, to grab Uruul by his hair at the top of his head. He then roughly pulls back Uruul's head, causing the prisoner to grunt a little. Pride holding back the louder response. Pogar then puts the dagger to Uruuls neck and will say in his ear, wafting of his dire breath "Answer the questions, or your beloved Yashai will find your corpse sitting in this position, your soul, morning the decision to side with chaos." To enhance this, Pogar will press the dagger down a little harder to produce a little blood.

Quote:
Picking up Pogar, Madragar, Draxim and Ruglan, ...

Kyethe flies 5 feet, perches on Draxim's shoulder, and cocks his head at Madragar quizzically.

Draxim checks the ropes binding Uruul. "Tsk, that would never hold overnight" he says tightening something. "course the way Po...Polecat is feeling, you may not see the morning. Best cooperate with your freind there if you know what's good for ya." he points to Khelzad.

He then eases Pogar's dagger away from Uruul's neck.

"He probably won't let me do that again," he adds believing it.

[Do I know this guy?]
