Re: Off we go...
[OOC: Would dragging James out of combat impose an AoO on Janes?]

Madragar Conditional Order:

If no, then: Madragar grabs Janes by the armor and hauls him fifteen feet NW.

If yes, then Madragar fires his crossbow at #2, then reloads.

(+8 to hit, 1d8+7 damage) (including +2 BAB, Bless, GMW and Inspire Courage)

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Pogar, graciously thanks Brae for his healing. Forgetting for a second that a battle is raging on behind the wall that he stands behind. That is quickly forgotten as Janes screams in agony. The fire of battle flames in his eyes. Quickly grabs the black oil vial that he placed next to his pack, Pogar will drop it into his pack, shoulder his pack, and off he goes scraming like a mad man.

"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"

[Pogar will move 1 e 3 s, moving towards those beasties who dropped Janes #2 & #6]

Re: Off we go...
Ulwe moves to the side of the doorway sheltering the Shadowraker. With a divinely inspired jab, he attacks while utilizing the cover of the corner.

[moves 1 SE, 1E +11 to hit (+3 melee bonus, +2 Str, +3 Greater magic weapon, +2 Song of Ancients, +1 Divine Favor) D8 +8 Dam (+2 Str, +3 Greater magic weapon, +2 Song of Ancients, +1 Divine Favor)
AC 22 (Dodge focus on #5, Protection from Evil) I'm not sure of the cover bonuses to AC...]

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Slinging his crossbow, Madragar grabs Janes by the shoulders and pulls him out of the doorway. Both wizard and barkeep are covered in blood by the end of the maneuver as Janes' belly is gushing red stuff.

Pogar utters a barbaric yalp and charges... all of fifteen feet into the room and then stands there.

Ulwe moves smartly to the edge of the doorway and makes a savage thrust. Through a terrible conjunction of physics, the priest's spear ricochets off the shadowraker's blade and strikes the stone wall to his right, the spear snapping in two pieces. A clap of mystical thunder signals the breaking of Brae's enchantment as Ulwe pulls back a useless stick.

[Rolled a 1 to hit, critical fumble threat. Rolled a 4, critical fumble. Rolled a 1 for the spear's saving throw, +3 for greater magic weapon, still failed.]

Re: Off we go...
Khelzhad runs into the south room with the holy hand grenade of Orlanth ready to throw, but must concentrate to keep up his bardsong through the ebb and flow of the battle.

"Companions forward - do not relent
The Shadow's time is nearly spent
Though our flesh be burned and torn
The Lightbringers bid we battle the Xorn
We do not weep, we do not mourn
For Humakt reaps all that is born
Once more to the fore, once more - to fight!
Onward, Companions of the Light!"

Re: Dobrug, Part III
[on his turn again]

Pogar, slightly cursing his short legs, looks to the heavens when Madragar was able to pull Janes away from the hulking beasts.
Pogar will sheepishly keep his mouth shut, as he continues on to continue the fight.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
When it is his turn, Madragar will pour his one and only bottle of cure light wounds down Janes's throat. He will then fire his crossbow at the nearest undead.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Madragar [still having a standard action to burn] pops the top on a potion bottle and pours the contents down Janes' throat. Instantly the flow of blood from his abdomen ceases, and Janes even finds the strength to stand up.

Moving into line with Madragar's retreat, Atan fires a pair of arrows through the doorway. The undead warrior is not only quick and armored, but also takes advantage of the cover provided him. Both arrows crack against the stone in front of the shadowraker.

To the east, Draxim repeatedly jabs his greatsword into the dodging undead. The blade is parried once or twice, but the fury of the dwarf's assault is too much for the lightly armored creature. Draxim's sword smashes through the shadowraker's chest and out the other side. The dwarf kicks the unmoving corpse off his weapon.

A heartbeat later Naredru reappears just a few feet away from Draxim and Ulwe. Ignoring the two, the traitorous wizard shouts across the chamber "Alune, shut the door!"

This the archer woman does. In a flurry of gesticulations and a jumble of incomprehensible arcane syllables, Naredru evokes a fist sized ball of fire and hurls it into the room. The incantation is not incomprehensible to Madragar, however, and just as the wizard finishes reviving Janes he hears the first few words of that potent spell. Images of a holocaust of fiery death blasting through the room, burning the flesh from his companions' bones, fill his mind as the fireball arcs toward Atan.

Brae hears the incantation as well and, thrusting out his staff and outstretched hand, summons a counterspell. The tiny fireball explodes, not in a massive detonation but in a shower of harmless sparks and steam. Atan, standing at what would have been ground zero, is too concerned with the shadowrakers to the west to notice the distraction.

Map updated.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Shaken and wide-eyed, Madragar is deeply impressed by Brae's feat of arcane might. "Truly, here is the hand of the gods," he says, breathlessly.

Recalling himself, he moves SE-SE-S, to stand behind Draxim.

"Brother Ulwe," he says. "Your weapon is broken and you are sorely wounded. I pray you fall back and tend to your wounds. We need you alive, Master Elf."

Then he reads a leather scroll drawn from somewhere about his belt.

Magic missile (2 missiles) at Naredru.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Khelzhad advances into the room and Madragar, standing behind Draxim and facing off against the enemy wizard, fires off a pair of brilliant missiles. In a flash of arcane power the projectiles vanish inches from Naredru's chest, revealing the presence of the nearly invisible shield that protects him.

[Well I suppose somebody had to be made an example of. I am usually very clear about my movements but with the excitement of composing Khelzhad's I song forgot to include them in my last turn and did not realize until the map was updated. Apologies to all.]

[And now everyone's going to die. Nice going jerk! -GM]

Re: Off we go...
Noting that Naredru holds no weapon Draxim takes the advantage, relying on his mobility to keep him safe. Uncharacteristically quiet and swift, he tries to side step the evil wizard and get in behind him.

[ E SE NE to complete the flank with Pogar. +15 to hit: +3base +5str +3GMW +2song (or maybe only +1 for the bless?) +2flank. 3d6+12 damage (2d6base +7str +3GMW +1d6flank sneak attack +2song(?))
Please note that if Naredru is considered a chaos creature there are additional bonuses.

Also I have Draxim at 22 or 24AC vs. this AOO chain+4 dex+2 mobility+4 dodge+2 +2prot/evil(?) ]
