Re: Dobrug, Part III
[Can Atan shoot through opponents? If so then he will try to take out the archer #2? Otherwise both arrows into lucky #7. Same goes for Janes.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
[You can shoot through opponents, each one giving additional cover to the target. However, there is a stone wall between Atan and #2, so he'll have to settle for #7.]
A volley of missile fire rushes past Madragar and the wizard reflexively tries to make himself as thin as possible within the crossfire. Janes' bolt smashes into the stone wall next to the door, shattering into a hundred pieces. Atan is a bit more accurate. His first arrow glides just over the lead Kurashk's shield and strikes it in the neck. His second arrow splits the gap between the wall and the creature's shield and punctures its right arm.
[Three 19s in a row. Alas, the undead are not subject to critical hits.]
Brae looks back and forth between the imminent charge of the Shadowrakers and the fallen form of Ulwe.
"Hold them off," he shouts and hobbles east. Kneeling over the fallen elf he sets down his staff and with both hands and Ulwe's shoulder, intones a prayer of healing.
Ulwe's eyes open wide as the color rushes back into his face.
[Ulwe is almost completely healed. Note that he'll have to use a move action to get up.]
The Kurashk priest and his followers explode through the doorway. Bracing his massive round shield in front of him, the lead Shadowraker smashes into Madragar, driving the wizard back into the chamber. Miraculously, both wizard and undead retain their balance.
The archer woman and the swordsman, the latter now fully clad in mail and shield, come storming through as well. Madragar is cut along the thigh by the heinous woman's dagger while Janes, suddenly confronted by the charging warrior, manages to dodge a series of stabs and slashes.
Yashai moves into the room as well and, holding aloft a grim black crystal, hisses at Khelzhad.
"Enough of your howling, dwarf."
A quivering black ray springs from the crystal and strikes Khelzhad in the chest. It is the icy touch of the grave and the dwarf can feel his very life being drained away. The beam continues to dance and writhe in the air between he and the crystal, Yashai grinning evilly as her magic does its work.
Map updated.
[Draxim and Janes are moderately wounded.
Ulwe and Khelzhad are lightly wounded.
Madragar is seriously wounded.]
[Go.]

[On his turn]
Pogar, tangled with the elven mage, will start raining down punches upon the prone elf.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
[OOC: Not too sure which defenses are up. I think Madragar has only Darkvision, Protection from Arrows and Mage Armor up.]
Conditional Order:
If Madragar does not have a Shield spell up, he backs up five feet to the SE and casts one.
If Madragar does have a Shield spell up, he backs up five feet to the SE, unstoppers his vial of holy water, and throws it at #2.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
[I'll wait to see if Dobbs is around before I take Janes' action.]
Pogar is not exactly on top of Naredru, and his rapid punches bounce harmlessly off the wizard's shield.
[Pogar has an axe, and the most potent magic weapon in the party. Why is he using his fists?]
[I have no idea whether Madragar has a shield spell up, so I guess he doesn't.]
Madragar takes a step back and throws up a protective spell.
[Madragar has just entered the square that Atan wanted to enter, so he stands his ground.]
Atan fires point blank at the archer woman, his first arrow plunking neatly into her chest. She does manage to dodge the second arrow, however.

{Oh, I thought he was on top of Naredru. If I had known, Pogar woulda used his axe.]
[OK. We'll call it a punt. I forgot to take Naredru's action last round anyway. Let's say that both he and Pogar are on their feet and Pogar takes a swing with his axe. -GM]

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Khelzhad seethes with disgust and indignation after Yashai's evil power and harsh words, but he steels himself for the ultimate test and confronts the witch directly:
"Yelm you despise, and yet his song is greater
Orlanth you deride, and yet his song is greater
Urox you disdain, and yet his song is greater
The Lightbringers you do spite, and yet their song is greater
From the mountain to the sea, there is no Shadow over me
No fear certain of death within, because my song is greater!"
With practiced dramatic timing, Khelzhad stares Yashai in the face and squeezes the crossbow trigger.
[chant, use Hero point to shoot Yashai: + 10 hit, + 4 dam (mastercraft, GMW, SoA, Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot if combat applies)]

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Both quickly rising after their collision, Naredru and Pogar lay into each other with all their strength. Alas, they leave all their accuracy at home. Their weapons cut the air but little else.
[Khelzhad does 1D8 + 3 for GMW, +1 for Point Blank Shot, and +2 for his own song, right?]
The Ghuraskalli bard brings his crossbow to bear on the witch, even as a sickly beam of pure darkness slithers between himself and the crystal she holds. The trigger pulled, latch depressed, bolt carried by the sinew strand, Khelzhad launches a deadly missile at Yashai.
The bolt flies more swiftly than can be perceived and in the blink of an eye it strikes Yashai's malignant black crystal, shattering it into a thousand unholy pieces. The life-draining strand of energy is immediately ended with an explosion of death magic bursting outward from the ruptured device. Through the debris Khelzhad's bolt continues on, terminating its trajectory in Yashai's chest, just below her right collarbone.
The sorceress cries out in pain, both for the wound in her torso and the bleeding ruin that is her right hand. She staggers backward, leaning heavily on the stone wall behind her.

[OOC: Hot Damn!
How many arrows are sticking out of undead #2?]
[There were three, including Mist Falcon, but at some point she pulled those arrows out. She also looks healed to some extent, probably at the hand of the Shadowraker leader. -GM]

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Janes will wind up and hurl the holy water at lucky number 7 with high hopes that it will splash all over Y and 2 as well then 5 ft. step SE to get Atan's back.
(+3 base ranged attack plus whatever other bonuses are currently in effect. I looked around but couldn't tell if the singing was still working or not)

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Ulwe awakens with a jolt. He quickly clambers to his feet and surveys the situation. To the South: a potent mage locked in combat with the Companions mightiest warriors. To the West: an onslaught of undead facing the more vulnerable members of the companions.
With a word he fixes his old friend in place.
[OOC Hold Person on Naredru, using a Hero point to ensure success.]
Once the mage is immobile, he commands Draxim and Pogar "Take his weapon and bring it to Madragar! hurry! I'll finish him off. The others need your sword and axe!"

Re: Dobrug, Part III
[If the hold works, Draxim will follow Ulwe's suggestion. If not, he will make a decision about whether he can swing on Naredru without hitting Pogar. If he can, then he does. Since Naredru is on the ground, he should be denied dex bonus to AC so the numbers will be the same as last time.]
