Re: Dobrug, Part III
[Janes and Draxim scare me. I want to go home now.]
Madragar finally has a chance to use his crossbow (what with Greater Magic Weapon and all...)
He draws a bead on Krushak and fires. "Die, and follow your mistress into Oblivion, hell-beast!" he shouts.
[+8 to hit (+2 base, +4 Greater Magic Weapon, +2 Song of the Ancients), 1d8+4 19-20/x2 ]

The word Kurashk is just another, much older, name for the Shadowrakers.]

Ah. I thought it was the name of #7. That's who's the target of everyone's favorite bald wizard.

Seeking to steady himself, Sangraal supplicates his lord for strength. In answer, warmth like that of a morning ray spreads across the wounds. Rapidly the pain and foul stench of corruption fade in intensity as Yelm bestows a gift upon his faithful.

Pogar, hearing the battle ring around him, seeing his friends blood flow freely, mixing with the beasts of chaos will finally get his chance to fell some beastly creature. Minus his shield, Pogar will attack #2.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
"Primitive Primeval Primate!" Draxim blusters. "Urox guide me!"
Draxim knows he can't take much more of that. He attacks defensively and if the Shadowraker still does not go down, withdraws 5' to the South hoping that someone will step up to attract the behemoth's attention.
[ Fight defensively UNLESS dodge bonuses don't stack. So it's either +10 or +14 tohit: +3 base +5str +3GMW +2song +1Chaos? 2d6+12 damage: 2d6 base +7str +3GMW +2song ]

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Free of the warrior woman's attention for the moment, Madragar snaps off a shot at the Kurashk leader. [You forgot to include -4 to hit for firing into combat.] The wizard's bolt strikes the creature in the hip, punching a neat hole in its hauberk. If the thing noticed the wound it shows no signs of it.
Khelzhad also raises his crossbow but Ulwe comes bounding into the chamber just then and the undead swordman flinches at just the wrong moment. The bard's bolt zips over his target's head.
Still staggering from Brae's hit, the swordsman is an easy target for Atan. Two arrows smash through the creature's mail hauberk in a puff of crypt dust. The twin missiles are driven deep into the Shadowraker's body, one buried up to the fletchings. Whatever necromantic energy held the thing together gives up the fight and the swordsman drops like a poleaxed goat.
Sangraal wisely take a moment to heal his wounds.
Pogar swings his axe two-handed but his aim is off badly. The weapon richocets off the stone floor in a shower of sparks.
[The Shadowrakers aren't Large creatures, but they're definitely Chaos.]
Draxim continues his assault on the Kurashk leader, but his powerful swing is deftly parried by that hateful mace.
[Janes. Only #7 and #2 are still alive, or unalive, or whatever.]

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Janes can hardly miss his staggering, one armed target but the Kurashk's mail is thick and expertly made. His bolt glances off the thing's back.
Brae steps over the fallen undead, laying motionless with a half dozen arrows stuck in its decaying body. Draxim is still reeling from his injuries when a cascade of pale light passes over him. Momentarily startled, his confidence returns when he feels the wound in his head close and life return to his battered torso. Brae stands behind him with his arms outstretched.
The undead woman leaps on Brae and tries to open up his flesh with her long, wicked dagger. The blow is clumsy, however, and the old priest parries it neatly with his staff.
Swinging his glowing mace like an angry drunk, the Shadowraker leader roars forward into Madragar and Draxim. The bald wizard is taken by surprise by the sudden movement and is struck squarely in the side of the head, the concussion knocking him to the ground unconscious.
Brae's healing was just in time for Draxim who falls for a simple feint, parrying left while that terrible mace swings right. Ribs crack painfully beneath his mail hauberk and Draxim's breathing becomes labored.
[I guess Pogar means the woman.]
Filled with frustration and contempt, Pogar gets in touch with his inner barbarian and lays into the heinous undead female with everything he's got. His ace cuts across the length of the creature's back, opening up its dry, useless organs to the dusty air of the catacombs. Her mouth opens in a silent scream, her back arched, standing motionless for a heartbeat before crashing to the ground. Dead, again.
Map.
[Go.]
