Re: Dobrug, Part III
The horrid undead priest staggering under the repeated blows, Sangraal moves in to finish it off. With one mighty swing he crushes in the mail clad skull of the Kurashk. Its grim, glowing mace drops noisily to the ground as gouts of toxic green vapor pour from the wound causing both Madragar and Sangraal to wretch with disgust.

Yet, the Shadowraker remains standing. Khelzhad's bolt punctures its chest to no obvious effect. Atan draws an arrow but holds his fire for the moment, careful not to waste his precious ammunition.

Draxim tucks his greatsword into the corner of his arm and leans it against his shoulder to free up both hands. Into his palms he spits, then rubs them together. Now confident of his grip he seizes his blade and lays into the monster with everything he's got. The blade cuts through the Kurashk's torso and rings off its black, stone-like heart. Finally, the fallen priest drops to its knees then slowly sinks to the ground.

Sangraal hits it again in the skull for good measure. Then, dropping his flail, the priest sprints into the room to the west, returning with Atan's Mist Falcon in hand. Flipping the projectile to the Merek Lek, Sangraal slams the western door behind him, drops his pack on the ground, and begins hastily getting dressed and armored.

"There's one more of these blasphemous things to the south," he declares. "Get ready."

Brae doesn't hesitate. While Sangraal garbs himself the old priest moves through the group, calling on the will of Orlanth to heal their wounds.

Sangraal manages to get some pants on before the questioning looks of his companions grabs his attention. The unspoken question of where the hell he came from hangs in the air. While donning his armor, Sangraal begins to hastily tell the tale...

Does this mean Madragar is no longer drowining in his own blood?

[No one is going to die. I'm doing the numbers now to see if Brae's got enough juice to heal everyone. -GM]

Re: Dobrug, Part III
"Which way are they comin, through the door that you just closed?" Pogar asks while searching for his shield.
After looking around the room for a moment, the flash of rememberance shows in his dirty and heavily bearded face.
"Dont start the fun without me" Pogar calls off as he head off to get his shield, where Naredrus corpse now rests.

Re: Holy, spelled with an H!
Khelzhad reloads his crossbow and walks over to Yashai's corpse (5 shot, 15 left). Time permitting, he will search through any bags sacks looking for the Crown of the Rhusai.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Yashai has almost nothing on her. There is a simple dagger at her belt and a trio of small leather pouches. Within, Khelzhad finds a variety of strange, seemingly worthless objects: wads of sulpher, dead spiders, tangled lumps of roots, and so forth.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Madragar stands and examines his blood-stained robes, then gives Brae a short bow. "My thanks for your intercession with the Thunderer, Master Dwarf." He eyes Lyssa's staff briefly then turns to Sangraal.

"A tale most interesting, to be sure, Sangraal. I should like to hear it again, more slowly, when we are concluded here. But we must not tarry. A hundred of the Lioness' guard could arrive while we reminisce. Come, let me bolster you further."

Madragar reads from an engraved leather disk as he paints an arcane sign on the priest's upper arm with his forefinger. The sign fades from view moments after it is drawn. "A minor sigil of fortitude," he says to Sangraal.

Endurance

"And now, Atan, there is still time for our victory here to slip away" he says the elven ranger. "I counsel a swift move to end this before reinforcements arrive."

Re: Quest for questions
Lowering his bow Atan concurs with the mages counsel.

"Yes lets finish this. Draxim, Pogar up front. Ulwe if you wish to wield the mace since your weapon is lost it might be a good idea."

Sangraal thanks the mage for his assistence and begins arming himself. Atan seeing him struggle moves over to help.

Once he is armored Sangraal quickly whispers ancient verses of warding.

"Pogar, Draxim and I are now shielded from the sight of undeath. It is not full proof and if strong enough in death the Kurashk will see through. I focused on those that are most likely to close with the Kurashk. Do not attack the undead until you are close or the spell will be lost."

[OOC:
Atan helps Sangraal into his armor ( halves the time requirement to 2 rounds).
Sangraal then casts Invisibility to Undead effecting Sangraal, Draxim and Pogar.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Ulwe hands Madragar the pouch of magic scrolls and potions he took from Naredru. Holding his dead former mistress' weapon in his hands gives the priest little comfort, indeed he feels slightly akward weilding Galewing. In answer to Sangraal, Ulwe says "Yelm be praised Dawn-Brother. Your coming here was as a miricle of old. We all have much thanks to give to that strange wizard who visited you this night."

Ulwe looks at the heavy mace of the Kurashk and frowns. He then says to the Yelmite "I shall bear Galewing for my lady Lyssa, though I am not worthy."

From the blood-stained floor he grabs his damaged shield and the broken off spear-head of his formerly exquisite weapon.

[Is the shield ruined? Can the spear be repaired, a new shaft or the head re-forged etc...? ]

The Aerendalen makes sure to look over the bodies of the dead-dead as well as that of Lyssa to look for magic or poison. He also looks over those who were wounded by the fell blades of the Shadowrackers.

[ooc: Ulwe has Detect Magic and Detect Poison up.]

Re: Quest for questions
"Thank you," says Madragar to Ulwe.

"That weapon is well-placed. The Lady of the Skytower would be pleased, I think."

Madragar then examines the scrolls received.

Re: Dobrug, Part III
As Sangraal sums up, Khelzhad relieves Yashai's body of the obvious items and any jewelery, and stows them in his sack for later examination.

"We must finish the task and get back to this burned man - there must be more to his tale! Now Lyssa is avenged and Yashai has been thwarted, but we cannot leave this Kurashk here in Dobrug," he says, adding a caution, "he will be prepared for us - this last task may prove hardest".

Re: Dobrug, Part III
Janes glances around the room to see if any of his quarrels are unbroken and not stuck in any bodies. If there are he'll gather them up and add them to his over half empty quiver, hike up his breeches and shake out his neck before giving a thumbs up on the fighting of the more icky dead things.

Re: Quest for questions
[Ulwe's shield isn't ruined, though it does have a four inch diameter hole in it. If he doesn't mind the extra visibility Ulwe can keep using the shield - it still grants the same AC bonus.]

Ulwe observes that the wounds left by the Shadowraker weapons were not particularly foul (at least not as filthy as those left by broo weapons), and in any case Brae's healing has taken care of any potential infection.

Ulwe also observes that Brother Elir, the lead Shadowraker, bore a magic heavy mace, though even from a few feet away the elf can feel the malignant corruption of the thing. The archer woman also had a magic weapon, her dagger.

[By the way, who has Sylkreik's ring and chain?]

Madragar opens Naredru's pouch and finds two scrolls (Shield and Vampiric Touch, both at 6th) as well as two potion vials he doesn't have time to identify.

Janes recovers three of his crossbow bolts, Atan finds six intact arrows.
