Re: Dobrug, Part IV
[OOC: Cool.]

With a dignified bow of respect Sangraal addresses the High Priest directly.

"I am Sangraal, acolyte of the Dawn" and with that Sangraal discourses the chain of events which have led to this point. He begins the narritive in Thasvara and the discovery of the map and ends it with the meeting with Lord Orangerind the Fat.

[OOC: If Ulwe trusts him then Sangraal trusts him as well.]

Re: Cyrvalus
[We'll assume Sangraal gives a brief synopsis. A full retelling would take more time than Cyrvalus is willing to give.]

The elder priest nods, though he splits his attention between Sangraal's story and his breakfast. Finally, as his attendents move to clear the table and present Cyrvalus with his "working day" robes, he intones "this agrees with what I learned from Brae last night, and quite a bit more."

Cyrvalus, not nearly as old as Brae but still clearly fatigued from the night's activities, moves slowly to a rack of belts and continues to dress.

"These shrines bear further scrutiny. This reminds me of a visitation I received some weeks ago, before the spring thaw. A band of Lunar monks, Sekastians, came to the Locamyrida to ask for a donation. They said they were from the Spiral Stone, young Sangraal, so I am surprised you didn't mention them."

"The Sekastian monks were organizing an expedition to some location along the coast, but were vague about their destination. They did mention something about investigating rumors of 'corruption' to the north so I offered them alms and sent them on their way. They have not been heard from since."

Re: Cyrvalus
"I remember seeing them in early winter. They kept to themselves. I will converse with the Yelm priests and see if any further knowledge cn be gleened."

Re: Cyrvalus
Ulwe wishes to make certain the direct relation between the 'Decievers' and Salhaug. He also stresses the danger of the Drowning Dawn and the cabal of Kurashk in Dobrug.

Re: Cyrvalus
Cyrvalus nods.

"Well, Ulwe, we knew that the Deceivers, as you call them, were in league with the followers of Salhaug. You have confirmed the extent of it, and that is a good thing. I do not recognize this Drowning Dawn, but will investigate it further once the situation here in Dobrug has stabilized."

"Now," the elder priest says as he rises. "I you'll excuse me there are wounded that need my aid."

Re: Cyrvalus
"Thank you Brother Cyrvalus." Says Ulwe with a slight bow and his hands in a prayer-like position.

"Please give Brother Brae my regards. We leave in the morning to explore the towers along the coast aboard the Kelp Canary. Mayhaps our paths will cross with the Sekestians and we shall learn more of their fate."

With that, Ulwe backs out of Cyrvalus' chambers with his Companions

Meanwhile
"Hold on, " he says back to Janes as he goes to his room. Atan quickly changes out in to his less distinguishing werthyn garb and steps back into the common room.

"If you want to come I am headed back towards Yashai's. I want to take a look at things during day light. We'll be back here in a couple of hours."

[Atan heads back to the scene of the nights fight, careful to not draw attention to himself from the town guard. Using his intuitive sense of direction and the dwarves remarks as to the groups rough subterrainean position the night before, he tries to locate the possible location of the second entrance to the tunnels below. Looks for any excessive smoke rising not consistent with the pile of debris ie coming from underground. If the opportunity arises he sifts through Uruuals shop for the ledger from the night before. He will not draw attention to himself by the towns guard if they are present.]

{intutive direction +4}

Re: Cyrvalus
Ulwe returns to the Shrine of the Aerendalen.

There he spends the rest of the day in prayer and contemplation about the journey ahead.

Re: Meanwhile
Atan returns to Yashai's palace. The area is swarming with town watch and Axemen, but no one gives the elf a hard time. The palace itself is still burning and scores of townsfolk loiter around the area, gawking. Considering the size of the structure, and the intensity of the fire, Atan believes the place will be smouldering for days, or even weeks.

He then returns to Uruul's shop to get his bearings. Atan is surprised to find the place occupied by at least a dozen Orlanthi priests of the Spearbearer sect. A few well armed acolytes give him the hairy eyeball as he approaches, so poking through the shopkeepers effects seems out of the question.

Atan does manage to pace out the location of the second exit from the tunnels. He is sure, just as the dwarves were sure the night before, that the tunnels also led to the basement of Yashai's palace. The exit is currently under several tons of burning timbers.

Re: Cyrvalus
[Atan tries to reason out the location of the room with the golem. There was a slit in the wall with a breeze indicating possible access to above. Or is that the same tunnel discussed before?]

[Not the same. The slit in the wall was less than an inch thick. Atan can guess the probable location of the chamber (which is under the burning palace) but can't discern where the little vent may have reached the surface. -GM]

As the Companions exit the Locamyrida, Khelzhad surveys the salty sailors and their gear, and makes another stop at the marketplace for a good oiled cowskin to keep him (and his drum) from the ocean spray.

Madragar also prepares to protect his goods for the voyage. A spare set of all necessary components go into a stoppered jar sealed with beeswax. He purchases an oiled bag to protect his precious books and for the hundredth time promises himself to research a cantrip to keep them dry.

Re: Meanwhile
Draxim, having spent the day shopping, will spend the evening spreading around some loose change amongst some acquaintances of his in an effort to find out about the reputation of Unkru Sixtoe and the Kelp Canary.

Re: Cyrvalus
Pogar, will continue to sit at his table, away from everyone, so that he can watch the hubub of activity around him. Hearing Atan call back to Janes, then leaving, Pogar meerly smirks.
"Impatient elves" he mutters to himself as he shifts his heavy boots from one position to another.

Re: Meanwhile
Draxim does a little poking around in the drafty taverns along the docks, making discrete inquiries about Captain Sixtoe. Despite the grumblings of one scruffy landsman that empatically attests to Unkru's untrustworthiness, Draxim finds the public appraisal of the Kelp Canary to be favorable.

She is a well known craft that plies the trade routes between Dobrug, Thasvara, and the Shielding lands beyond. Unkru is apparently a veteran sailor whose father built galleys during the Lunar occupation, and is himself a swordsman of some repute. Furthermore, Unkru has close ties to the Seafarer cult, and is known to have a proper respect for the gods.

Stately Wayne Manor.....
Returning from a not so slight detour to the Spiral Stone Sangraal stops at the front portal of Janes unnamed inn. As Sangraal stands before the door his mind drifts to a younger time and the childish memory of an armorer in Dobrug’s past with the unprecedented reputation of such shoddy work that none bought from him. The armorers plight became so bad that it took on a life of its own and the snickering cries of “two lame gauntlets” echoed from street urchins with nothing better to do till scattered by a well cast stone. Stones that the armorer took to keeping by his forge and in no small abundance to drive them off. The absurdity of it all was the shops name “The Well Placed Rivet”. The name, which brought great gaffaws from the locals, set the tone though its respectability was somewhat lost due to the armorers aforementioned lack of skill.
“By the Light, a name left unset.” The sun priest chuckles and unable to recall if Janes had named his new establishment, Sangraal spontaneously dubs it “Janes Tavern” until such time that Janes himself clears the matter up once and for all.

Without so much as a knock, not that such a thing is needed at “Janes Taveren”, Sangraal opens the door and enters. Inside he immediately finds it deserted and sets to a search. Two minutes latter after mistakenly waking a dog curled up under a table and checking behind the bar for Pogar, Sangraal suspicions are confirmed.

“All gone.”

Making his way upstairs Sangraal takes a nap to the parties return.

Re: Back at the Tavern
The Spiral Stone accepts Sangraal's incredibly generous donation and Ashel, the senior priest, begins considering the details of buying out the brothel next door and demolishing it piece by piece.

Finally, after their odd and frustrating adventure, Ulwe, Khelzhad, Pogar and Draxim return to Janes' place and hit the hay. Come morning they find that the entire party is, for once, together.

[Time to come to a consensus on what happens next. The Kelp Canary will be taking the retreating tide out to sea before noon. Is everyone going? How about Atan?]

Re: Stately Wayne Manor.....
Sangraal has not been idle while the party members were out and about.

Sitting on one of the tables is a iron banded wooden chest, an iron lock, a signet ring bearing an inlaid symbol of a sun and a quantity of sealing wax.

“ We must settle the division of treasure before we set out. Last Fall we distributed the cache of items and coin garnered in our recent travels. When I asked for an item I was denied and the only other item I wished were contested. In interest to the group I relinquished my claim lest fall into squabble. Now I only seek what is fair. The enchanted items you all carry as your prize are priceless.”

“ I again choose as my pick the runemetal. Any contest this?”

[OOC: 89 gp has been deducted from Sangraals sheet.

If you read this please post. Lets get this done with so we can move on. If you don't care post "I don't care".]
