Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Pogar, feeling torn, watches Atan and Draxim both head off towards Janes house. Pogar, used to being alone, in the darkness, will slink off and keep an eye on the building, from across the way.

[OOC Pogar will keep watch on the building, from a secluded spot. Watchign for others to return, if so then Pogar will return also, to protect his friends. Rain does not bother Pogar as it is his "natural" bath.]

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Draxim indeed hurries back to Jane's tavern so as not to let Oggsrund's memory linger on his features. Though Oggsrund remembers it not, Draxim remembers all to well how his band of toughs got rousted by the axemen, under the ambitious leadership of the obese man, although this was before he had ascended to the council, and Draxim was still a boy of merely 25. Four of his gang had been thrown into the pokey, and the gang never recovered its strength leading Draxim to take up with even more unsavory characters. He only escaped that night by hiding in a water barrel to short for a human to fit in easily, and nearly died from the ensuing pneumonia.

"That was a close shave!" he admits to Sangraal and Madragar with a shiver.

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Eventually the companions reconvene at Janes' place rather than be out on the streets where brutal fighting is under way between the kuralitai and the Moagaran priesthood.

Ulwe does not want to be safe and warm while his fellow Aerendalen face hardship. After meeting Oggsrund, Ulwe rushes to the Locamyrida to find the other members of his Order.

Khelzhad removes his chainmail and sets to dry out.

"Well lads, it's been a late hard night, but we must yet take counsels ere we sleep. Janes, some tea if you will..."

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Still dripping wet from the torrential down pour, Pogar swallows the whole contents of his ale filled mug and belches loudly.
"Well, it seems that part o' the plan is to search the 3 shrines. By me own countin, we have 8 people that can search. That makes 2 teams of four. One team should hit the island, the other start at the first shrine, and move on. Both teams travel down together, both meet at the last shrine together. Use Madragars friend fer tellin the other group what be goin on. But I be thinkin we may wanna get Ruglan first."
Satisfied with his plan, Pogar stands and moves to the bar to fill his mug again with the fine ale that Janes provides. As a side thought, Pogar turns to the group.
"And what are we gonna do with that misrable human, Uruul?" he asks with disdain.

The companions stare at each other for a solid hour, drinking heavily and wishing they were in their beds. Eventually, Ulwe returns from his excursion and drops down before the fire, soaking wet.

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Sangraal breaks the silence.

"Ulwe you return so quickly whats happening in Dobrug?" the warrior-priest inquires.

"Also you all have heard my theory and my purposed course of action. What say you? If you agree then we should split up and meet back in Thasvara for our final assualt on the forge."

Sangraal directs to Draxim a question concerning his share of the loot from the Cairnhollow and lastly retrieves his pack and the dark mace wrapped nicely in his cloak.
"Be careful with that" he warns.

[OOC: No one seems to be posting and Sangraal has a lot on his mind.

1. Need to get Sangraals share of the crown and the sale of the rubies.

2. Sangraal casts detect magic and detect chaos and concentrates on the items.

3. Need to get the evil mace and Lyssa's rod identified by Madragar.

[It seems like a lot of the players are AWOL, so this conversation may take a while. GM, does Khelzhad have any Bardic Knowledge on the Song of Fire?]

"As I have said to Sangraal in private," says Madragar, "I concur with his reasoning, all but that we should split up. Such an invitation to fate should not be issued now. It is my counsel that we remain together, striking as one at a single target."

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Khelzhad spends some time sifting through the hundreds of stories, ballads, and legends he's collected over his young life, searching for a reference to a Song of Fire. It is not an easy task since fire is an oft used story-telling device, particularly among dwarves.

He can remember no direct reference to a Song of Fire. It does not figure into any mortal legend that he can think of. Nor is it a part of the myths of his people.

Khelzhad does consider, however, that the worshipers of Chaos are fixated upon those three words, so must have learned of them from somewhere. Whether they are part of a prophecy, or were gleaned from some ancient text, the mystery behind the Song of Fire has a solution. Yet the inability of the Enemy to identify the Song would seem to indicate that even they don't know exactly what it is.

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
The Aerendalen comes in from the rain. He shrugs off Sangraal's question and he prods the Sun-preist to repeat his findings,
Ulwe listens intently to Sangraal's Theory. His face furrows and darkens when the name Salhaug is mentioned and grips his chin lost in deep thought. He is quiet for a while before he begins to speak.

"Foremost we must speak with Brae again. I must share with him all that you have told me this night. It would be best if he heard these words from your mouth Dawn-Brother. The Locamyrida must be armed with the knowledge you gleaned from your studies. I will ask if all the Companions can enter the temple and have an audience with Brae. We may yet count ourselves lucky since you wisely chose to devote your time in Thasvara to study."

The Aerendalen then says, "I have some thoughts on what you spoke of as well. There are also things which I had gleaned from Brae which we all must know."

"First know that we are being watched. Our deeds are seen and words heard by both the servants of Light, and the slaves of the Shadows. There are few places safe, and this is not one of them, though the dire situation demands I speak all I know now. Our enemy knows who we are and soon our foe is unmasked as well."

The Sea Priest's voice raises as he declares:
"I would call forth this evil to confront it head-on. Though its strengths lie in deception, treachery and lies. It seeks to undermine us with its subversions and subterfuge. So I will call it out this night to you all."

"Salhaug is the Chaos Lord who exists as a perverse opposite of My Lord Orlanth. We first heard that loathsome name from the mouth of Joru as it lay dying. He said he would die thrice and arise anew as a champion of the Blind Constrictor. That is another name for it. As is Lord BlackFathom as you heard Ithmond speak it. This stagnant filth is the dark shadow of Orlanth. Where he is Wise and Good, Salhaug is Evil and Cruel."

Ulwe then leans close and the others need to strain to hear what he says: "The Xoriath are the name given us Moagarans and Hythriadi by the decievers. They call us Xoriath which menas 'proud vermin.' It was they who thus named us when they fled the coming of the Moagaran horse tribes and their elven allies to these lands. Theony called them Hygurae. Brae and Cyravalus called them 'Xorn'. I call them 'Decievers'. They are an ancient and malevolent race which have arcane powers beyond comprehension. To even speak of them invites their attention, though now I am sure we command it. The Charm of the Xoriath was the encorclement of our entire lands by which they kept themselves secret. That was what we awoke from when we died and were reborn by the Orb. When we died and became made whole again we were freed from their spell."

"The strange writings on the scroll of Irian Aros are the markings of the Arcane Xorn. It was thier curse which afflicted Irian Aros and Naredru alike. As well as I think Hurin. All became maddened by what they knew"

"The monsterous beast which moves through stone as air and commanded dark energies with a hideous visage was Yashai's true form. That of the Xorn."

"The Decievers have made pacts with Salhaug. They will help the Blind Constrictor bring about his Drowning Dawn to the ruination of us all."

"The pact was evident by Sangraal's visions when Ithmond spoke to Yashai. But also in their plots lies our hope. They are not united and both seek to undermine the other, they trust not themselves and seek to do the same to us. We shall keep our trust despite them, for together we will defeat them. Like the Lightbringers: Orlanth, Urox and Humakt cooperated to free Yelm the Light from Chaos so shall the peoples of Moagara work together to stop thier evil!" His words now a veritable thunder of faith as Ulwe's speech becomes a wild-eyed sermon.

A moment later his is calm and collected as he states his ideas.
"We must move quickly." He says, with conviction. "Though I agree with Madragar that we should all move as one, swift and strong, united in purpose and grim in determination."

"A ship will be the fastest route from here to all three locations of the temples. We should try to provision ourselves on the morrow and seek to leave at first light the next day. I will use my connections with the temple to try to find a captain to take us. We have enough money to charter a fast, well equiped ship. It would not be unwise to take hired swords along as well. We sail up the coast to the headland past Lusing to find our first temple. Then across the Bay of Halavas to the second temple. Finally we head to Bullulo's island to seek the final stone."

"Then we shall to Thasvara to gather strength for our final assault on the forge at Gaede."

Khelzhad also feels as Madragar that the Companions should not spllit up under the current circumstances, as they are all now marked men to the Deceivers.

"What about the Burning Man? He sent Sangraal to us - perhaps he can send us also to these places faster than any ship."

"First things first," Pogar says slamming his half filled mug of beer so that it sloshes all over the table. "I mentioned another of our friends, yet not one of you either heard me or cared to notice. What about Ruglan and Uruul?"

"Ulwe gave Uruul over to Oggsrund's care, so Ruglan should be back any time now. But if he does not, we will go and relieve him."

Khelzhad also relates that he requested guards for the night, though sleep still seems a long way off for the Companions.

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
[OOC Oh, my bad. I re-read the threads but didnt see it, my bad. Must need glasses or something....]

Pogar, exhausted, but still an industrious dwarf sits with his back in the chair, leaning back and looking rather comfortable.
"I'll be takin the first guard duty, let some of you get some rest, ifn youll let me take the first duty. I've held a postition all through the night in the past, so this'll be easy fer me" Pogar says plainly and to no one in particular, while staring deep into the fires, being brought back to his memories of life as a hardened dwarf within the mines.

Setting guard through the night as the miners chopped away at the ungiving stone, for the precious ore that the clerics have found deep within the caves. Cautious of all movement in the deep and dark sunless days of the underground life that Pogar and his kin lived. The damp and cool breezeless days that turn into nights when even the heartiest of humans would not wish to dwell. Pogar, the ever brutish and sometimes irrational dwarf, has taken a liking of his new found friends. Though, at times, his irrationality has gotten him into a few debates with Ulwe, Pogar actually likes him the most. Pogar ejoys the banter between Ulwe and himself, and as he sits in his chair, stairing deep into the fires, Pogar starts to think of life without his new clan. The thought scares him, in a way that he has never been scared of before.

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Sangraal indulges the sea-priests request for him to repeat his long story and upon completion asks the simple question.

"Now, what is going on outside? You say we are being watched and the city is in a state of conflict. Any information might be helpful."

To Madragar he asks " Can you identify the items we found?" indicating dark mace and Lyssa's rod.
