Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Ulwe looks at Sangraal with hopes the priest listened to all Ulwe had said.
[There is a lot of info there]

"You know about as much as I Dawn-Brother. Some unknown wizards set fire to Yashai's palace. Her Kuraliti are being destroyed by the Spearbearers and the Sword Elders. The city is in disarray and the gates have been closed against the Olmanni in the Zesh outside.

What else do you need to know?"

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
"You left in such a hurry and then returned so quickly. With all the events that are transpiring it is a question worth asking. What you describe is what we already know, just thought you might have found or stumbled onto something else."

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Ulwe looks slightly confused.

"Sangraal, you left Oggsrund's suddenly. I stayed behind. Afterwards, I looked for members of my Order at the Locamyrida and then returned after finding them."

"Much of what I said has been heard by you for the first time this night. Indeed I have only spoken with Madragar about the Decievers."

"Now enough re-hashing of recent events. Let us speak of the future. How are we to proceed? We all agree to go after the sites which may hold the remaining stone disks. We are spit over whether or not we should split. I propose travel by ship which will be the fastest way. Though Khelzhad does have a point. The strange wizard you met this night might be able to take us all in an instant to each of the locations. The problems I see with relying on the wizard are: we must rely on a strange wizard -no offence- Madragar. Second, by mundane travel it will take a day or two to reach Grugni's. We could possibly be at the first site if we travel by boat in the same time. We have powerful friends here in Dobrug which could help us out a lot with a ship."

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
To Sangraal's question, Madragar shakes his head, saying "I do not have that Art, though truly, it is one I must soon acquire."

In response to Ulwe's statement, Madragar nods. "I would opt for the ship, myself. We do not know the motives or allegiances of this wizard."

[OOC: Uh, what wizard? Pass me the Clue Baton!]

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
[ooc: the wizard who teleported Sangraal into the catacombs. Who was last seen at Grugni's]

"I would not expect anything less from a Fisherman's son. You are favored of Orlanth my friend. Sangraal, Ghuruskalli what say you to a ship?

Ulwe says to Sangraal regarding the items : "Master Brae told me he would tell me more about Galewing tomorrow. Perhaps he can identify the Mace. Besides you must tell him your tale. He is wise beyond measure and he is not called Brae the Diviner for without reason."

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
"The goal seems clear enough even if our strategy is now unclear: we must prvent the remaining stones from falling into the hands of the enemy, and seek to recover those that have.

Also, one small correction to your story, True-Spear. It was from the giant Chillerserpent that we first heard the name of that name this new Shadow [i.e.Saulhaug]. While it may mean nothing more, it has haunted me ever since."

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Still staring into the fire, Pogar meerly shrugs to the question of travel.

"I dont be carin. We have a job to do, so it shall be done. How we're to get there, it dont matter." Pogar states. Pogar stands quickly, the scraping of the chair across the wooden floor as it topples over. With a sheepish grin, that is unseen through his thick and dirty beard, Pogar uprights the chair and mumbles "Bah, stupid chair." With loud clomping of his heavy boots, Pogar goes to the bar and fills his empty mug and empties half its contents in one swallow, only to fill the mug back up and head back to his chair.

"Song-Wise, no detail escapes you." Says Ulwe as he begins to ponder the encounter with the Chaos beast in the Cairnhollow.

Shaking himself from his reverie, Ulwe speaks again to Khelzhad. "Aye, what needs to be done is without debate. How we do it, we have not a lot of time to decide. Let us all try to agree on how we are to proceed 'ere the night be o'er."

[ooc: should we vote?]

"Regardless of how we depart, can we all agree to use tomorrow to prepare for our departure?"

[We are agreed to pursue the remaining stones, 1st step investigate sites 1 2 and 3 on Sangraal's map. ]

[Issue #1 tomorrow for provisioning and arranging travel. Aye]

[Issue #2 Split up? Nay]

[Issue #3 Travel by Ship? Aye]

Khelzhad:

[Issue #1 tomorrow for provisioning and arranging travel. Aye, aye!]

[Issue #2 Split up? Nay, nay!]

[Issue #3 Travel by Ship? Aye, but how far away is Grugni's House and the Burning Man - he may be able to teleport us.]

[Grugni's house is three or four days from Dobrug. -GM]

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
"Aye, we should spend tomorrow preparing for travel. Should we split up? I dont care if we split or not, so I will follow the groups plan on that course. I be a little uneasy about this burning man that Sangraal met. He may get us there faster, but if that be true, and we are need'n to get somewhere else fast, we wont be knowin our directions from there. A wise cleric once said that sometimes speed isnt needed in terrible situations. Patience and determination is all ye be needin. I suggest takin a ship" Pogar says.

"And ye all need be in bed, afore we be knowin, it will be morning and all this talk about preperation is wasted." Pogar finishes flatly.

Khelzhad fails to stifle a wide yawn. "Aye cousin. 'Tis been a long day and longer night," he adds, as he reclines on the floor in front of the fire surrounded by their wet, mud-caked, blood soaked gear.

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Sangraal listens intently to Ulwes further findings which answer some of the questions that had been nagging him and helps to solidify his theory further.

"Is a ship really the fasted way to carry us? A swift horse might be quicker?" he voices tinged with slight agitation. His last trip along the river from Tunlura had done little to quell the Sun Priests uneasiness around water.

As everyone settles down Sangraal offers "Last watch". Standard fair for the priest, he'd be up offering homage to the Creator irregardless, the ever dutifully servant greeting his lord.

[Issue #1 tomorrow for provisioning and arranging travel. Aye]

[Issue #2 Split up? Boooooo]

[Issue #3 Travel by Ship? Aye]

[OOC: I have been trying to get the party to split up for a year. Many know my reasoning. 8 people in one party is to many but if that’s the way people want to play.
From where the sun stands now I shall buck the system no more.”

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
[From a character standpoint, Khelzhad is against splitting up the Companions, since from his POV they have been brought together by divine providence. As a player I would like what is easiest so if it is better to split into the "active" and "less active" groups that is fine with me as well.]

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
[OOC: My main gripe about the large party is that less vocal role-players are even less likely to get involved or might feel looked over therefore stifling roleplaying. Now I am pretty guilty of this myself so I am not pointing fingers. Lastly havign the party split and come back together allows for small group dymanics to change as characters move between the parties this I believe improves roleplaying.

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
[OOC: Pogar, quite honestly, does not care whether the group sticks together or not, however, he does see the benifits of the group sticking together, and the personal plusses of splitting up. (i.e. more treasure for him, more blood for him to spill, etc.) Personally I see the benifits of sticking together, most likely would weigh better than to split, however, I do think that the group splitting up would benefit in the role playing aspect, but as a larger group, it would be better to stay alive in a big group, rather than a small group :) ]

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
[I am unwilling to suffer a TPK in the name of roleplaying. If any player feels that their role has been underutilized the simple solution is: SPEAK UP! Engage another character in conversation.]

Lets roleplay tieing our shoes. 20!!!!!!
[OOC: TPK is never because of to few players. Usually it's due to stupidity on the players part (why yes I will touch the dragon…) or a cruel heartless GM using the PC+2 algorithm;) Then the final safeguard is that the GM is the only one who decides if there is a TPK. If the GM wants one, he’ll have one ( acrobatic pyramid building zombies) no matter how many meat shields are in the way.
As you have said you won’t suffer a TPK for the sake of roleplaying, and it seems others feel the same way so I will bring it up no more.

Any further discussion of this should probably go into the public forum]

[One mechanism for preventing a TPK is the Hero Point. Alas, the party has burned through all of theirs.]
