[ I don't speak up too often for two reasons, one Janes listens rather than talks and two when I do speak up it's usual to argue with what I consider to be crackhead plans, "Let's kidnap this guy, it'll be fun." Frankly, I'm all for splitting up the party, but I don't expect it to ever happen. Not to put to fine a point on it, if Janes never saw Ulwe again it would be too soon. Nothing personal Sean, but your character drives me crazy! ]

"I say we can likely cover more ground quickly if we split up. It's certainly riskier, but it might be worth taking the chance. I do agree that we should leave as soon as possible, and I don't see any advantage to taking the suggested places in any particular order." Janes also looks surly at all the people getting drinks from his bar without paying, but doesn't say anything.

"I agree with you Janes but we can discuss this in the morning after we speak with Brae, with the information we have gathered he might be able to fill in the blanks. Any information gleened from him could affect how we move forward."

[OOC: Since I'll be asleep on the Pacific side of the world. I'll summerize what Sangraal is willing to do.

1. Go to Brae and share everything he knows. But does not let the map out of his sight.

2. Sangraal will go no where near Oggsrund and will actively avoid him if he shows up. He doesn't trust him. He will not divulge any information to him.

3. Contribute any share of funds needed to get ready for the coming voyage.

4. Offer funds for getting the mace and rod identified by Brae.

5. Sangraal will tithe to the church of Yelm, Orlanth and Chalana Arroy.

See you all in the morning.

Re: Lets roleplay tieing our shoes. 20!!!!!!
Draxim comes down the stairs bleary-eyed from a nap. "I thought I heard a chair get knocked over. Is't a fight?" Seeing all the earnest discussing going on, Draxim pulls the tales and theories out of Sangraal and Ulwe yet again.

"You know how I feel about splittin' up. Never a good idea. And I need some time to get my pack in order. Now about this boat though. If these Xorn are lookin' to unleash some terrible Drownin' then maybe a boat is not exactly the place you want to be? I'll go on a boat if wiser heads then mine decide that's the way we should go, but don't say I didn't warn ya. At any rate I'll bet a head that we end up walking back," he finishes sorrowfully rubbing his feet.

He helps himself to some ale leaving Janes a silver head. "Whattaya got around here to eat tavern keeper?" he prods Janes with a wink. Draxim is up now, and will help Pogar with the first watch. Later as the others filter off to bed he will peer out through windows and maybe even steal outside to see if he can detect those that are certainly watching the tavern.

[What is the geography of Jane's tavern? does it have Windows? A back door? ]

[It is a row house, wedged between a cobbler and a boarding house. There is a door in the front and back, and shuttered windows upstairs.]

[Also is there a temple to Urox in town?]

[There is no proper temple to Urox, but shrines to the Storm Bull are common... to ward off Chaos and Evil. -GM]

If so Draxim asks the party how they would feel about using this as a reource - how much should we tell them etc. Although if Oggsrund is there he wants nothing to do with it.

[But the Crackhead plan worked! As for spitting: A wise GM once told me "Vote with your feet." If you want to go off and do your own thing then do it. ]

"We will cover more 'ground' quicker with a ship. The order we investigate the sites should be logically based on their geography. On Sangraal's map, site 1 is the closest, followed by 2 then 3 Look here and you can see why the order is important."

"I'll rest here, then at first light I shall seek out an audience with Master Brae."

Ulwe will:

Ask Brae permission to have the party enter the Locamyrida

Participate in Discussion with Brae

Seek out the Seafarer cult and inquire about a ship to take them on an important mission

Visit the armorer who sold him the shield as well as the weapon smith who sold him his spear.

Buy assorted provisions

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
One by one the companions wander off to sleep. Janes notices that two unfortunate men of the town watch stand outside the front door his tavern all night (presumably at Oggsrund's orders). When morning comes they are gone.

The morning sun illuminates an immense column of black smoke rising up from the ruins of Yashai's palace on the other side of town. It will probably be smouldering for days or even weeks. For the most part, however, Dobrug is silent and still. Whatever struggles held the town in its grasp last night have passed.

Draxim comes downstairs and pays Janes 5 Gold Lunars for breakfast. "An' to cover all these other penny pinchers!" he adds loudly.

"Now then, who is with me to go do some shopping? I also wanna go have a look at our handiwork," he adds with an evil smile.

Draxim explains that he wants to get another look at that chest that was in Uruul's shop.

In the damp morning light, Khelzhad starts the day by estilmating the value of the gems given to him by Oggsrund.

[Appraise +5]

[Two topaz worth 50 silver each, and four small saphires at 100 silver each. In Moagaran terms, it's a small fortune. -GM]

"Well brother Sangraal. What about the Burning Man? If he is friend shall he go unthanked? Your time with him was but brief - we may learn more from him. Although time presses to recover the remaining stones, I desire to meet this stranger."

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
"Especially in light of what that great fat pig Oggsrund said about fire coming from 3 mages last night. Can I have a look at those lovely little baubles honoured bard?"" Draxim will have a look at the gems and add his own appraisal to the mix.

[Draxim comes to the same conclusion. They're fairly common stones for Moagara (as common as highly valuable gems, that is). -GM]

Draxim nods his head appreciatively and hands the baubles back to Khelzhad

Re: Dobrug Part IV
His morning prayers long completed Sangraal watches the compaignions filter downstairs. Eating a small bisket by the smoldering fire Sangraal takes a swig of water to wash it down.

"The burning man is just as much a mystery to me Khelzhad. Blessed Light he seemed a tortured soul. Retched yet sorrowful. Why the Bringer crossed our pathes I do not know."

Unsure where the day will lead him, but sure that it will be out of Dobrug, Khelzhad heads out to the market to purchase travel rations and check out the horse and pack animal market, should they need to acquire them.

[buying iron rations, checking to see if there are horses and ponies available, should they need them]

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Yawning and scratching his dirty blond beard, Pogar decends the stairs loudly as his heavy boots clomp on the wooden stairs. Getting to the bar, Pogar will lay down a gold piece and order food and drink. While eating, he opens his dusty pack and rumages around for a moment.
"Bah" He says to himself, "Nothing for the road. Mightn' be a good idea to be getting meself some food" He thinks. As he finishes his last of his food and ale, he picks up and leaves heading to find food. While on the road to get food, he scratches his dirty mane of hair. Thinking back of the times in the dark tunnels, how the stone would fall upon his thick skull an image of a sword, from a mighty foe appears before his eyes. "Them stones hurt, and so would a sharp sword" He thinks to himeslf. On his way to buy food, he will also look for an armorer to fit himself with a helm.

[Pogar will purchase 1 months worth of ration and a helm. Can he get a steel helm?]

[He's already got a simple steel helm. It doesn't cover his face, but the Moagarans don't make their helms that way. -GM]

Madragar will accompany Khelzad to the market, and similaraly purchase food for a long journey. He keeps an eye out for trouble, as the city is still a dangerous place.

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
Janes will do the following in the morning:

buy 20 quarrels for his crossbow
buy 2 weeks iron rations
if possible pick up some light luxury items (spices, colored thread, pretty but cheap gems, etc.) to use as trade/bribe items in case money wouldn't be appreciated.
buy some fortified wine or hard alcohol
make sure that everything is going well with the tavern supply and money wise before heading out of town.
wait for the man he is supposed to escort to Theony then take him out there.

[Theony's camp is three days to the south. Still plan on going? -GM]

Re: Dobrug, Part IV
[All: Any standard equipment you want to purchase will cost whatever price is listed in the PHB. Go ahead and take care of that yourselves and mark it on your equipment list.]

[Sangraal, Ulwe, Draxim:] The three make their way quickly to the great temple of Orlanth. They can't help but notice how empty the streets are this morning, though isolated bands of Axemen and town watch appear to be on patrol. Smoke from Yashai's palace rises up in an ominous black column to the south.

The Locamyrida is quiet as well. A few small congregations receive the word of Orlanth on the banks of the river, while a trickle of worshipers filter across the bridges leading to the main temple. Within they find that most of the priesthood is still asleep, having been up all night dealing with the kuralitai. The group passes by a line of shrouded corpses, likely those priests who did not survive the conflict of the past night.

It doesn't take long for the three to locate Waed Daeva.

"Brae is resting, friends," the elder Aerendalen groans, himself only just getting out of bed. "His exertions have laid the old man low, I'm afraid. It may be some time before he's moving again."
