Re: Bones and Dirt
Khezhad barrels in right behind Ulwe, but on seeing their fears confirmed, turns to the barmaid:

"Which way did they turn down the alley?"

Re: Bones and Dirt
"Tell us their names and which ship they belong to and avoid Orlanth's retribution!" he adds after the Bard.

Re: Bones and Dirt
Caught between the lethal threats of the press gang and the promise of divine retribution from Ulwe, the serving girl's hands begin to tremble, her lower lip quivers, and she bursts into tears. Dropping both mugs and sobbing uncontrollably she flees up the stairs to the second floor of the tavern.

Re: Bones and Dirt
Ulwe glowers, but then looks sheepishly at Khelzhad.
"We cannot persue, for they could have gone in any direction, slipped into any other dive. If I had Brae's powers of divination I may be able to find Argos. If we had Atan here he could follow thier trail. Alas Argos is lost to us for the now. Let us wait here for the others."

Ulwe then approaches the table where the patrons were hoping to go unnoticed.

He questions them:
"Did you overhear any names? Do you know where they took the priest?"

Re: Bones and Dirt
The two patrons, longshoremen by the look of them, lower their heads and stare earnestly into their mugs. They say nothing.

Re: Bones and Dirt
Travelling with Atan the Ranger has yielded some experience for young Khelzhad. He sheathes his sword and moves to the back door. Trying not to disturb anything, he looks for signs of which way the gang went.

Re: Bones and Dirt
Khelzhad finds signs of recent travel. The mud in the alley is full of boot tracks which go both ways. That's all he can tell.

Re: Bones and Dirt
Not to be ignored, Ulwe leans close to the two longshoremen and shouts in the closer one's ear :

"WHO WERE THEY? AND WHERE DID THEY GO?!"

Re: Bones and Dirt
Khezhad stomps back through the inn to the street and hollers again:

"Companions! To me! Double-time, ho!"

Re: Bones and Dirt
Waddling down the dusty alleys, looking for his cousin and the inn that he is at. Bemused smiles appear on those that see this dusty dwarf, bustling down the street, with his pack on his back.

"Stop yer movin' you yellow bellied singer" Pogar thinks to himself, frustrated at the slow pace that he makes. But, he is a dwarf none the less and with dwarven persistance, Pogar continues on.

Re: Bones and Dirt
One of the longshoremen looks up from his ale long enough to bark "piss off, wanker" in Ulwe's face.

[I don't think you guys have an appreciation of the size of Dobrug. You can't yell and be heard on the other side of it.]

I get no Respect no Regard
[Hmm respected and feared eh?]

Ulwe's face reddens. He knows he probably could kill these two longshoremen without much effort. He also knows he cannot do such a thing and not fall from his Lord's favor. The disrespect is eggregious yet he is not provoked to violence, though in his darkest of hearts he sees these yokels skewered upon his spear.

"You two will not get off so easy. As witnesses to this crime, you are duty bound to tell me where those criminals took that priest." He says to them through gritted teeth.

"There will be more priests here soon. You can do this the easy way, or the real easy way. Now before you ruin your lives here and in the hereafter: Who was in the gang? What ship did they belong to. Names gentlemen."

Re: I get no Respect no Regard
[No, Ulwe is not universally respected or feared.]

One of the longshoremen continues to stare into his mug. The other relents, slightly.

"I don't know the boat, but one of the men was called Tibur. I seen him around to docks with the rest of 'em."

[Wasn't expecting to be heard on the other side of town, but for lack of a flare, Khelzhad is trying to make their location known to any who might help.]

"Well, True-Spear. Shall we wait for reinforcements or try to head them off at the docks?"

Re: I get no Respect no Regard
"Tibur, eh? Do you remember or did you overhear any other names, any at all? Those scum are going to enslave a priest of Orlanth! You two owe your livlihoods to the Sea-King. It is only his whim which allows the ships to dock in our port which you earn your keep loading and unloading. Be candid and redeem your complicity in poor Argos' abduction."

Ulwe stands back from the two, no longer leaning in close.

[In response to Khelzhad]

"Songwise, we'd better wait until those we've summoned to arrive. Let us not create phantoms for them to chase."

"I am Ulwe, Aerendalen of Hythriad. What are your names?"
He asks the two.

Re: I get no Respect no Regard
The laborer exhales loudly and gets up out of his chair, jerking his head toward the door while looking at his companion.

"We're not gettin mixed up in this. You want them you go find them."

The longshoreman drops a silver on the table and heads for the exit.
