Re: Armorfest
As Pogar removes his dusty and rusty chain shirt, he somberly drops it to the side. As he silently drinks in his new armor.

The armor, obviously made by a master that rivels even the best of his Ghuraskalli smithies. The darkened armor reveals nothing but smooth edges that are formed straight to Pogars body, leaving room for comfort. As he hefts this half-plate armor, the burdon of weight is minimal for this quite strong, barrel chested dwarf.

For a moment, the armor appears to turn a goldish color, if seen in the appropriate light. Pogar, for the first time, since the relief of his shield, feels protected. Taking his great sword and moving off to the side, he takes a few practice swings and feels quite comfortable in his new getup.

Re: Armorfest
The companions spend some time preening for each other like girls in a tavern bathroom until someone realizes they have a limited amount of time to save thousands of innocents from being drowned and then raised as an army of evil undead.

Re: Armorfest
The stone door set into the west wall of the armory, like the one that led into the room from the south, begins to slowly rise into the ceiling at Sangraal's approach. The priest immediately recoils from the raw stench of Chaos beyond and an almost palpable wave of corruption pours into the chamber. Sangraal is sure the corridor ahead leads to a place in which Chaos itself has reigned unchallenged for a very long time.

Beyond the door is a corridor that stretches beyond the reach of Sangraal's light, though there is an intersection visible twenty or thirty feet away.

'By the light" he mutters before reciting a short prayer to Yelm for his protection. Making sure Pogar is at his side Sangraal proceeds done the hallway to the intersection.

[OOC: Sangraal moves to the intersection and checks behind him to make sure everyone else is coming. ]

Re: Armorfest
The corridor travels west for twenty feet where it continues on to the west with a branch heading south. The passage is ten feet wide and about fifteen high.

At the limit of Sangraal's light it appears that the western corridor begins to slope downward.

At the intersection Sangraal peers south. The corridor ends about thirty feet away at a blank stone wall, but after a short inspection Sangraal spots a small circle on that wall - the kind that in the lower areas of the complex indicated the inside of a secret door.

Re: Chaos stink = egg salad on a sunny day
Pogar, feeling rejuvinated with his new armor moves looks down the hall as him and Sangraal move slowly down the hall. Pogar will move up to the "secret" door and will put his ear on the door to see if he can hear anything on the other side.

"Pogar," Ulwe whispers. "Draxim might be a better listener, what with your new armor and all. Plus his sharp ears have served us well in the past"

[The new armor still has a pretty stiff armor check penalty, and Draxim has a higher Listen skill... ]

Re: Chaos stink = egg salad on a sunny day
[ooc: that is the sort of stuff we need to know :) ! ]

Ulwe motions Janes to the door.

"I've seen you at the bar. You can hear someone order an ale while you are talking to a bar-wench and a bard is singing a song. I bet you have good ears for this sort of thing."

Re: Chaos stink = egg salad on a sunny day
Draxim goes up and listens at the door. When he is done he asks, "what do you think tavern keeper? You are used to keeping track of the goins on of your guests, I'll wager you have as keen a set of ears as a jack rabbit."

[ Oh and Janes, you never replied to my post to you about Chandra/Theony. Did you see it? ]

Draxim listens at the door but hears absolutely nothing. Janes, from the back of the party, hears nothing as well.

[ No, I didn't. What was the theory? Janes is already primed for a nervous breakdown as I expect that for the second time in his life he is about to loose everything he has that he didn't carry with him. Or does anyone think that his inn will still be there when we get back. His inn that has about all his money in it that wasn't already sunk into the place. ]

Janes will move up to the front and listen at the door.

Re: Chaos stink = egg salad on a sunny day
Janes finds nothing that leads him to believe the door is trapped. If anything, the secret door looks like it has been closed for centuries.

Re: Chaos stink = egg salad on a sunny day
"Gentlemen..." Ulwe begins with a brief pause to clear his throat. "given the evidence before us, i.e. this apparently unused secret door, I beleve our quest leads us down the Western hallway."

He waits moment before he adds. "Whatever we decide, let's make our desicion with some haste. Time, I believe, is running out."
