Lenny's been to busy thinking about rabbits......
As Janes moves forward to listen to the door Atan whispers quietly to the Yelmite, "Did we learn why your brethren were out here on this island Sangraal? It would certainly take alot to explain but we could use their assistance."
[I have read the threads but am majorly confused. I know we came here to recover the disk and have teleported through time and into different bodies. It appears we are now wrapped into some sort of mission for the Dragonewts, and although it does not seem at odds with getting the disk, I am not sure what the job is.
So can someone paraphrase what our next step is or is everyone in the same boat (in which case that's cool and we can roleplay this out)?

[I am pretty sure we are fufilling a prophesy, while at the same time stopping the minions of Chaos from unleashing the flood which will kill many in Moagara. The disk at this time might be immaterial. Not sure though... ]

Re: Lenny's been to busy thinking about rabbits......
"Our goal remains unchanged, Atan," says Madragar, shrugging on his new armor. "At least in the short run. The disk remains the only way to stop the Xorn from flooding Moagara and killing all the Moagari. As for the dragonewts, they play a longer-term game with the Xorn for even higher stakes, and have chosen us as apt...tools or allies, choose your own term, it matters little."
"They have opposed the very forces we face since time immemorial, and in this time and place, need our help. If we can find a way to set right the changes in our history, we must regard that as a bonus. For now, though, our part remains as it was - find the disk, stop Moagara from suffering a watery holocaust."

Lemme esplain... no, lemme sum up
[Madragar's explanation is fairly close.
During the last winter, Sangraal's investigations led him to some information about the disks. They were apparently part of a complex and mysterious device, or "forge" as it was called. After the Lunar invasion, the Imperial priests dismantled the forge and used the eight disks to seal eight seperate Chaos shrines (rumored to be devoted to the worship of Salhaug) along the coast. The fact that the shrines were sealed and not destroyed had something to do with Emperor Zulquerzarhen.
Since then, the minions of Chaos have been acquiring the disks. Ghulku took one of them from the watchtower near Grugni's house (on the first night of the campaign). Another one was found by the Brotherhood of the Dawn and placed in a tower in the center of their temple in Thasvara.
From the party's activities fighting Yashai and her Shadowraker allies in Dobrug, not to mention some investigations by Hvari and Varamon - two of Sangraal's brethren - it was learned that the worshipers of Salhaug were trying to arrange something called the Drowning Dawn. In this endeavor the disks are critical.
The dragonewts are also to be interested in thwarting the Drowning Dawn. Part of their contribution to this effort was to briefly inhabit the bodies of the companions in order to guide them to a cache of weapons and armor - equipment the dragonewt Ruler Zhoskelgar believes the companions need in order to succeed. Since the armor was crafted centuries ago, after some terrible fate befell the dragonewts that lived on the island, it's clear the dragonewts have some vision of the future that they are trying to modify.
The companions' two jaunts back in time had the intended effect, as the Warrior Utama crafted them magic armor from measurements and observations taken by Sekastia and the other dragonewts. However, their presence at a fateful meeting between Ogdalaan, the Rhusai emissary, and themselves disguised as Ertrani bearing gifts, has had some unintended side effects.
Essentially, much of the history the companions know of the Moagari has changed as well as the structure of their entire society. All that aside, the date of the Drowning Dawn is known: at the rise of the new moon in two days, and it appears that it will yet transpire unless someone stops it.]

[So...let's do it. Madragar boldly gets in the middle of the marching order.]

Ulwe indicates the ancient portal before them.
"Open it, or let's begone. Though in my heart I do not feel our way leads through this door. Something calls me downwards, to the West."

Which way did they go, which way did they go George.......
"Hmmmmm," Pogar starts, scratching his beard. Feeling somewhat, like a new Dwarf with his beautiful armor, Pogar thinks hard.
"Yer say'n that the door has no been open inna while. Isnna it right ta say that'n we be know'n how ta open these "secret" doors, n this," Pogar points to the secret door, "is one o' them "secret" doors that we'r say'n aint been open fer a while....." and slowly trails off while looking at the secret door.
After a momentary pause, Pogar starts up again. "Might'n it be a spot ta hide the disk?" he asks no one in particular. Falling back into his customary traits, Pogar finishes.
"Bah! Im no know'n what ta do, just face me ta them durned enemies an' I be know'n what ta do. I be goin' wherever ye all be goin' " Pogar finishes while gripping his great sword a little more tightly in silent frustration.

"Open it," says Madragar. "Leave nothing behind us which might harbor danger."

Sangraal complies to Madragars request and taps out the pattern to open the secret door.

Re: Lemme esplain... no, lemme sum up
The door gently opens about a foot before it stops, apparently blocked by some object on the other side. The stench of Chaos here is particularly foul and the room beyond appears to be clogged from floor to ceiling and wall to wall with a dense forest of unnaturally immense fungi, mushrooms, and creeping lichens. One massive specimin, a narrow dark purple mushroom stalk, rises up just a few feet from the door and brushes the ceiling some forty feet above.
The room is not at all colorful. Even in the light of Sangraal's flail the suffocating cluster of decay-devouring fungi consists of deep colors of night and the ocean depths. The entire chamber looks bruised.
There is motion in the room, as well. Here and there insects and oozes of unusual size slither about. None of them are much bigger than a man's hand, but Sangraal imagines that if there was any place in the world in which a darkleech might be at home, this is it.
[At that moment Sangraal's Daylight spell ends. Only a half hour duration on it.]
