[Pogar lost control of his crossbow after getting hit by the ballista. It's unloaded and somewhere in the far northeastern corner of the chamber.]

Re: New plan: Charge!
Slowly, Pogar stands. As his hip runs blood freely he hears his more prudent cousin curse him.

"Bah!" is his only retort. Pogar hobbles closer to the wall, trying to move out of line of site of the Duergar. Limping slowly, Pogar moves towards the doors on the southern wall.

Re: New plan: Advance with cover!
[ 2 NW 1W Fire crossbow at #2 (or whoever has the least cover on the balcony) +7 to hit, 1d8 damage ]

Draxim moves up next to Ulwe crouching to fire and taking advantage of what cover he can.

Re: New plan: Advance with cover!
The balcony provides almost no cover. Draxim crouches down and lets fly a bolt that strikes the closest duergar, which is still flapping at a burning arrow in his arm, in the side of the head. The evil dwarf joins his comrade, falling to the flagstones below while uttering the Wilhelm Scream.

Caught up in the rush Atan pauses for the mearest of seconds to fire at the dwarves on the balcony.

Re: Arrow to the eye
Khelzhad's bolt is followed swiftly by Atan's arrow, both flaming projectiles leaving a trail of smoke behind them. Only the elf's aim is true and the missile strikes the duergar in the neck, blasting through its throat and into the spine beyond, killing it instantly.

[#2 was already dead so Atan shot at #1. Only #3 is still alive.]

Re: Arrow to the eye
Sangraal takes off like a boulder sliding down a hill.

[OOC: Non combat run 23 W. That should place me directly under the balcony, under #3. If 23 squares is to much, Sangraal inteends to end his movement under the balcony.

spells up
Daylight: 40 minutes, 60' effects light sensitive creatures.

[You understand that he's running straight into a huge melee full of evil priests and other spellcasters, right? He's basically going to be a sitting duck for anything that comes his way. -GM]

Re: Arrow to the eye
Ulwe steps around the corner and advances with Mulgi and the legionnaires.

He pauses to spot a Duergar in the rear of the group assailing the humans to the West.

He invokes the War-God Orlanth and summons his divine spear to strike the enemy down.

[Moves 1 NW, 6 W, and casts Divine Weapon at #14 ]

Re: Arrow to the eye
Sangraal sprints down the passage toward certain... something.

From the eastern end of the corridor Ulwe holds aloft his spear and calls down the wrath of the Wind God. A shimmering lance of force appears above the head of one duergar priestess and begins to jab mercilessly down on her. Through the swirling melee it's hard to tell what effect it is having, if any.

[Madragar and Janes. Map updated.]

[OOC: Did anyone actually take Pogar's now flaming great sword, or is it laying on the floor among the corpses?]

[No one grabbed it, apparently, so it's laying on the ground near the door. Pogar can grab it as part of his movement next turn. -GM]

Madragar runs forward as fast as he can. He wants to be able to unleash his spells before his comrades close with the enemy.

[120' straight west. That should put him 10' east of #3]

Re: Underground, Part V
As Madragar passes by Janes steps out from behind the stout oak door, swiftly reloads his crossbow, and fires at the remaining duergar on the balcony. The shot is a bit high, but the constant volley of fire on his position causes the dark dwarf to dive for cover. In the blink of an eye he runs north through what is presumably some sort of doorway and disappears from sight.

Sangraal, Madragar, Mulgi, and the two legionnaires bound toward the far chamber and are confronted with a scene of pure mayhem. The seven humans, each clad in gleaming mail and wielding a variety of deadly, glowing weapons, are locked in mortal combat with the duergar. Opponents swirl around each other, hacking and stabbing while shimmering motes of holy light and pools of dark necromantic energy dance between them. Several disembodied weapons, of which Ulwe's is only one example, dart about the chamber, adding to the confusion and the frequent splashes of hot blood to the flagstone floor.

The duergar are unlike any Sangraal and Madragar have ever seen as they are both heavily armored in scale armor of crimson and brass, and are each surrounded by auras of unholy power. The melee is incredibly fast, and each combatant is clearly an expert fighting at the best of his ability.

Suddenly a dagger comes spiralling out of the confused clash of arms and plunges into Sangraal's abdomen. Blood gushes from the wound and, doubled over in pain, the priest reaches down and pulls out the blade. He is horrified to see it is covered in a viscous purple substance which is, unfortunately, embedded deeply in the wound.

[Map. Sangraal is seriously wounded. Pogar is moderately wounded. Go.]

Watching his companions move into battle, Pogar is slightly irritated but says nothing. Grabbing his great sword, Pogar moves off to join the rest of his friends in battle.

Re: Underground, Part V
With a fluid grace, Madragar comes to a halt next to Mulgi. "Good to see you again, Mulgi," he says.

Then, he unleashes his big guns. With an eerie word of power, he throws his fist forward, releasing a small ball of corruscating light, which flies forward to a spot 5 feet southwest of #16 and then explodes in a brilliant ball of lightning, leaving the smell of clean ozone and burning flesh in its wake.

Scintillating sphere

(I believe that all the duergar except for number 4 and 13 should be in the area of effect.)

[20' radius, not 30', right? -GM]

[Is it? I don't have the book with me. In that case, the center should be five feet southEAST of #16, which will hit #'s 6,7,8,9,10,12,14,15 and 16 -Scott]

[5d6 electrical damage, Reflex save for 1/2 damage (DC 16)]

[Note, however, that you can't launch area of effect spells into a melee like that an expect that some friendlies aren't going to get hit. Madragar doesn't have a laser range finder or a map grid laid out in front of him, so the center of the blast is going to be close to, but not exactly, where he wants it. -GM]

[ Move 8 W]

Draxim continues down the corridor at his dwarven pace, then gives a quick look at the wall to evaluate its climbability. He has a mind to climb up to the balcony, and is trying to figure out how easy it would be, and how exposed it would make him to enemy fire.
