Re: Last ride of the red shirt freshman.
Parched, the stranger drinks thirstily, but this only seems to weaken him further. The man is dying, though Ulwe is not sure why. His burns are ugly and severe but seem to have healed, for the most part. Also, his broken leg is probably quite painful, but not life threatening.
The water dribbles down the man's chin and he sighs heavily, leaning back against the stone wall as if all strength has left him. The burned stranger does seem to have regained consciousness, however.

As Pogar walks up to the burned man, Pogar looks a him filled with compassion.
"Who be ye?" Pogar asks gruffly, though. "An' who did this ta ye?" Pogar adds.

"We're no stoppin' ye. We be needin information from ye afore ye do, lad" Pogar says.
"Ye tell us who did this ta ye, an' we'll take care o' them fer ye." Pogar states, hoping the entice of revenge would be enough to pull some information from him.

Re: Last ride of the red shirt freshman.
"I held... the flame to my flesh..." the stranger hisses weakly. "I plunged the searing metal... into my eyes... to drive... the Shadow... out."
With a rattling exhale the burned man slides down the wall until he is entirely prone.
"They feel pain..." he whispers, and seems to smile.

"Dark Leech and no mistake! Poor fellah. You go on to your proper reward." Draxim pats him on the head gently. " Is there anyone you want us to get a message to if we get out o' here?"
Draxim looks around nervously.

"I cannot die... only suffer." The man is totally still except for his horribly burned, lipless mouth.
"Perhaps... when the Drowning God comes... I will meet my end."

Re: Last ride of the red shirt freshman.
"What be yer name lad?" Pogar asks, with no gruffness. "Yer strength ta do what'd ye did be amazin'. How long ye been like this an where'd the shadow go?" Pogar continues.
Taking a moment to really look this guy over, really amazes him. But, for a moment, his distrust rises again. Knowing that, not all people could be trusted he reflects on what he said, skeptically.

"No..." he gasps. "What use is a magus that cannot see? The Shadow... will seek a new... host."

Re: Last ride of the red shirt freshman.
Sangraal, who to this point was keeping his distence leans over and finaly gets a good look at the mystery man.
"I know you" Sangraals voice rings of recognition. "You are the man from the road. You sent me to Dobrug." kneeling next to the blind magus.
"How did you end here?"

Re: Last ride of the red shirt freshman.
The stranger looks up, his blind eyes searching fruitlessly for Sangraal's face.
"I... remember no road," he groans with a sorrowful tone.
"When I forced the Shadow out... I wandered... for a time. Memory drew me to the sea, but... I... knew of this place... the old temple. The Shadow had gathered its allies... and all will soon be... Ha!" he sputters. "But not with my hands to... aid them."

Re: Last ride of the red shirt freshman.
The stranger slowly, painfully, sits back up and reaches out to touch Sangraal's arm.
"I... know this place well," he whispers, but suddenly begins to moan and weep. "Oh, Lord of Oaths... it is my time... I beg you... take me to the House of Death and let me rest."
Just as suddenly, the man becomes desperate and grasps at Sangraal's plaid sash.
"The machine... it calls them from the deep... blasphemous machines..."
Although the subterranean complex stinks of Chaos, Sangraal can detect that the burned man is tainted by it as well. It could be the result of a possession, which matches his story. Or, something else.

Re: Last ride of the red shirt freshman.
"what about the seal?" he starts to ask, then " wait a minute what machines? where are they? Do you mean those purple thingys?"
Draxim points at the guy and looks at Ulwe and Sangraal and then mimics them doing their healing rituals and shrugs; the intent is obvious: should we heal this guy?

Re: Last ride of the red shirt freshman.
Sangraal listems to the blind mans ramblings before answering Draxims question about the machines
"The machines I believe are what the grey disks are needed for. They are used to twist creatures and men, such as what came of Druuga. The machines also seem to be some type of summoning becon, being such a strong Chaotic influence creatures of Chaos are drawn like moths to the flame."
Turning back to the man
"Are you the one called Edrigan the Golden?"
