Re: The burned man
"I am called Tsai Zhuun," the man replies. It is a Lunar name.

Re: The burned man
"You are familiar with the Song of Steel - that is good, there is hope for you yet. You asked what help can a blind magus be? Knowledge and wisdom spoken with a true voice would be a great aid to these sons of Light, if we are to stop the Drowning Dawn. Ask not for that end - it will bring you no closer to Humakt's Oath. Do you know where you are, or how you came to be here? What has happened since you first met Sangraal?"

Re: The burned man
"I do not know this Sangraal, but I came to the Haven by my own incantation. Alas, when I appeared, there was no floor to support me and I fell."

The man grimaces while feeling his wounded leg, the deep and ragged scars of his face twisting and buckling like old leather.

"I thank you for your kindness."

As the man reveals his name, and seems to be a little more composed, Pogar kneels down to be closer to the man's hight.

"Will ye be willing ta help us?" Pogar asks.

"What do ye know of the Drowning Dawn, er whate'er it be called?" Pogar asks, less demanding and more compassionately.

Re: The burned man
"Everything," Tsai Zhuun says, and seems to shudder just a bit.

Tsai is suddenly far from the blubbering wreck that the companions had pulled from the rubble just minutes before. He must be a man of strong will for he quickly regains his composure and seems almost entirely devoid of emotion, despite the horrors he has experienced. It is a remarkable change.

Re: The burned man
"Do ye know what we're ta do ta stop it?" Pogar asks, remaining with as soft as his gravely voice can be, trying to be compassionate as well.

Draxim raises a bushy white eyebrow at the others. He's suspicious of this new behavior.

Re: The burned man
"Could it be stopped?" Tsai Zhuun muses. "Yes, I believe. All things can be changed, and in changing there is born a kind of ending. Hope remains, and I am not so eager for my own death as I once was. Whatever I can remember I will tell you and together let us turn aside this doom."

The wounded man takes a deep breath that rattles his lungs.

"Yet if we succeed you must do all in your power to cure me of these terrible wounds, and cleanse my spirit of the taint of Chaos that has lingered within. There are great healers among your people and they will be grateful for your deeds here against the Enemy. Their gratitude will be my rebirth. Swear it to the Lord of Oaths and I am yours to command."

Re: The burned man
"Ye want me ta swear to a god?" Pogar thinks to himself, quite amused. Ye say there be gods, but none ha'e ever come ta me side ta aide in me battles. Pogar sighs to himself. What could hurt if'n me says I'd swear ta Humkat, meself, juss ta get an answer? None by me thinkin' Pogar muses.

"Ye have me word, fer me an me friends ta do what we can" Pogar says flatly to the burned man.

Re: The burned man
"It isn't your word I need, Ghuraskalli," Tsai Zhuun declares. "It's his."

The blind man points one gnarled finger straight at Ulwe.

"And do not think to deceive me, Pogar Stonecrusher. An oath may mean nothing to you, but Humakt knows his own."

Re: The burned man
"Have you tried prayer Mr. Zhuun? I always find when I'm feeling stuff that I oughtn't, that prayer always sets my mind straight. ya ought ta give it a try. Heck I'll pray with ya if you want." Draxim smiles at the blind man to reassure him and then remembering that it's pointless, glances around nervously.

If he prays to the Lightbringers, he's probably OK he thinks to himself. If he avoids it then he's probably possessed again.

Re: The burned man
Looking at this man, who seems to know what goes through his head, makes Pogar feel uneasy. Then, deep within the bowls of his soul, this person, basically said to him that Pogars word meant nothing. For a moment, Pogar see's only red and images of this mans head, rolling down the hall is the only thing that Pogar can see.

But, after a moment, he resumes his casual demeanor.

"Ye think ye be knowin me, Lad." Pogar says, putting emphasis on the word lad. "If'n yer powerful, like yer seemin ta be, then, ye be knowin the world a bit. If'n this be true, then ye'd be knowin that a dwarf's word, be all ye be needin, if'n he gived ya it. I gived ye me word. If'n I be believin in yer gods or not, if'n I gived me word, it'd be as good as me own king gived it ta ye hisself." the obviously irritated Pogar spits out.

"Yer say'n that yer need'n our word. I gived ye mine, an a dwarfs word be goin a long way." Pogar continues. "Farther than a stinkin elf" Pogar says to himself.

Re: The burned man
Ulwe believes the man is being honest, and has regained some portion of the strength and confidence that was beaten out of him by his possession. Khelzhad's inspirational magic may have something to do with it as well.
