Re: The burned man
"Not so easy, perhaps, but evidently within the power of this shadow...if shadow it be. How came you to be burned, and the shadow fled, when it...and you...held such great power? Why would it leave you?"
[OOC: Does Madragar know of the Shrine of Oak?]

Re: The burned man
[Madragar has vague recollections of the Shrine of Oak as a sort of sanctuary used by the dragonewts. Of course the memories are those of Amonos, Madragar's alter-ego.]
"The Gorgon is prideful and lusts for power," Tsai Zhuun replies. "It could not abide a crippled body, or a wizard without eyes with which to work its magic. My only salvation from the Shadow was that my desire for self-preservation was overcome by the need to be free of it."

Re: The burned man
Janes quickly scans the room for something that would be able to support Tsai's weight (Spot +10, Craft Carpentry +3). He is pretty sure that all that Tsai has said so far is true, but keeps an open mind to see if something seems out of place (Sense Motive +7).

"I did," Tsai Zhuun replies. "The creature's control was not so absolute, it seems. I do not have a clear recollection of the event."

"If there is no fire where we are going, we should make some more torches to bring some with us in case of darkleech, if nothing else."
Khelzhad sets to work with his hand axe to make a some torches from the debris and searches for any cloth suitable for a wicks. He uses half of the last flask of oil for to prepare them, leaving the other half in the flask for throwing.

"I suppose not, Atan. I don't know what happened to the Gorgon when he abandonded me. I fled as quickly as I could."

"Yea that's a really good question Pogar. Can you read our minds then?"
[ Or was this simply a literary device so that we would know who he was talking to? ]
Draxim makes the sign to avert the evil eye, even though it seems foolish in this place saturated with Chaos, it is a comfort to him.

Tsai Zhuun turns his blind eyes to Draxim and simply says "yes, I can."

Janes hisses in surprise and fear when the crippled wizard admits to being able to read minds and moves away from him while making a sign against the evil eye.

Re: The burned man
Khelzhad is slow to believe such a claim as mind reading, but after the apparent time travelling they had experienced, it did not seem far fetched.
"Tell me, then, Tsai Zhuun, what you know of this."
[Khelzhad concentrates on an image of the Golem.]

The dwarf acknowledges to the others that the blind man has guessed correctly.
"Aye, 'tis true. I was thinking of the Golem that busted down the gate."

Re: The burned man
Draxim turns red in the face and immediately starts thinking about all the things he wouldn't want this wizard to know. After two seconds of this which of course covers the puberty years as well as his shameful actions prior to becoming enlightened Draxim asks, "can you tell where people are too? How many enemies await us where we are going?"
