Re: The burned man
Offering his bedroll to the blind Lunar mage, Atan retrieves his cloak and settles in. Pulling it close about it him, "So tell us what you mean when you say the drawning dawn cannot be stopped, but maybe it can be diverted? Diverted how? And how did you know the Gold?"

Re: The burned man
Tsai Zhuun accepts the bed roll and lays it on the broken floor while Atan speaks. The burned man then sinks to the ground and lays on his side.

"I need rest."

Re: The burned man
Ulwe finds a spot close to the others to lay out his bedroll blanket and prayer mat. Once he has made a camp, Ulwe lays his burdons aside and walks unencumbered save for a wooden box. The well worn wood is smooth and polished from years of use on the road and at sea. Inside the box tucked under his elbow, is Ulwe's collection of herbs, ointments, bandages and needles along with waxy thread.

He checks out Sangraal, Draxim, himself and Tsai Zhuun. [How hurt is everyone? ]

Re: The burned man
Ordinarily, Madragar would be deliriously happy with the armor. Right now, Madragar appears to be experiencing no emotions at all. With a short nod of approval, he sets his armor carefully aside and reaches for Sangraal's heavier suit, holding the breastplate in his lap as he performs the attunement ritual.

Re: The burned man
Ulwe and Draxim are the only ones with wounds remaining from the fungus battle, and theirs are light. Tsai Zhuun's broken knee is swollen but the blind man doesn't seem all that bothered by the pain.

[Ulwe and Draxim are lightly wounded. Tsai Zhuun is moderately wounded.]

Madragar finds, after two more hours attuning himself to the runemetal within Sangraal's half-plate, that its powers are identical to those of his own armor. Sangraal need only think about its increased protections and a soft glow emanates from his body [at will, Protection from Chaos].

Re: The burned man
Ulwe calls on Orlanth to heal Draxim, himself, and Zhuun.

[cure light wounds Draxim, Ulwe, Cure Moderate wounds Zhuun. Do all the armors have identical protections? ]

Khelzhad clears a small area for his bedroll, gnashes on some nuts and seeds and heads down for a few winks before his turn in the watch.

As Pogar settles in, preparing to lay down for the night, he see's Madragar working on identifying his armor. Thinking for a moment, Pogar stands, removes his armor and moves in next to Madragar.

"Um...Ye thinks ye'll ha'e a moment fer this one, eh?" Pogar asks, knowing the delecate demeanor Madragars is in, but does not want to push it at all.

Draxim listens to the others describing the powers of their armor. He then focuses his mind on the armor and says, "Protect me from Chaos ... please."

Re: The burned man
[When Madragar conducts the Attune Runemetal ritual in effect he's discovering the command word for each of the item's activated powers. In this case the command word need not be spoken. He still has to go through the ritual eight times to realize the full potential of all eight suits of armor.

Madragar will need eight hours to rest in order to regain his spells, and sixteen hours to attune himself to everyone's armor. Sangraal's God-clock tells him that it's about noon, so it'll be noon the following day before the party is ready to move again.]

"Let us spend this time wisely. We should all be armored with the knowledge of each of our suits. The protective boons will be needed by us all." Ulwe says by way of counsel for waiting.

Re: The burned man
Madragar moves methodically through the suits of armor, attuning himself to each one. With an hour or so, his foul mood is either gone or subsumed within the work. Glances cast at the burned mage between rituals confirm that he has forgotten nothing, however.

The sturdy hands of the tattooed wizard trace the lines of power hidden within the runemetal as his mind pursues the unseen patterns of creation that bind the spells to the armor.

When he is done and has whispered the last of the command words, he curls up in a corner and immediately falls into a deep and fitful sleep.

Re: The burned man
As Madragar works, Draxim goes through his gear methodically, making sure everything is packed properly and securely. He spends the remainder of his watch with a close eye on Madragar, and the burned man, occasionally foraying silently outside to listen for approaching minions of chaos. Once Madragar discovers his command word, he says, "Well I guess I'll never figure out this magic stuff. Thanks Madragar, and Utama wherever you are." He adds prayers of thanks to Urox, and the other Lightbringers after waking the second shift, and turning in.

Atan too checks his gear verifying that all is in place an undamaged from the various encounters they have had since entering this island tomb.

Thanking Madragar for "tuning" his armor he also confers with Ulwe on how long before the elven priest can creat more water. "Not sure how long it took to poison the water but if we could referesh it once a day I think we should be alright."

Ulwe replies to Atan's question:
"Not until the morning, though Sangraal might could in the meantime. We will need to check on it again though. Can't you Detect Poison?"

Water
In less than an hour, all the water the companions have in their waterskins turns salty. It is also, possibly, poisonous (though it will take another Detect Poison to confirm that). Sangraal prays for the water's purification several times during the night to keep their provisions pure.

[Both Ulwe and Sangraal can Create Water and Purify Food and Water. They'll have to cast one or the other at least once every six hours.]

The subterranean complex is deathly quiet throughout the night, but the air itself seems suffocating - an almost tangible and intelligent malice that invades the lungs and disturbs the mind. Sleep is fitful and much too short, leaving the sleeper groggy and disoriented. Madragar, in particular, seems affected.
