Re: Water???
[Ilbog, from what they said, are in leagues with Chaos, because Chaos is holding their king hostage. They will fight for chaos, although they are good aligned. However, thats the story they are givin us. They could be chaos through and through, no one has ever tried to sense chaos on them, have they?]

"Let's get this door opened. Janes, your ears are keen, tell us if you hear anything on the other side. Draxim check for any traps, and let us tarry no longer. We must stop these Entrepos machines this day."

Re: Water???
Janes moves up to the door and takes a quick listen [ List +10 ]

[Janes hears nothing. It is dead silent on the other side, or the door is really thick. -GM]

Fate of the world in our hands and 2 days left to live...
Draxim yawns expansively still not well rested from the night spent amongst the echoes of Chaos. He speaks the word krilklag and the shifting storm cloud patterns of his armor clarify, as if the viewer had thrown open a dirty window to view an onrushing tempest. He remembers breifly his embarassment, asking Khelzhad the meaning of the clearly dwarven word. The bard reassured him however; the krilklag was a ceremonial sheild made by dwarves in ancient times from the scales of giant pike that live in underground streams. The Ancient Ghurugil employed the krilklag in rituals of protection to appease the Gods and forestall the approach of Chaos. Draxim ruminates, as Janes inspects the door, suspecting that the word has some meaning in the Dragonewt language as well, and that Utama has had a joke with him. He looks over the door and the masonry surrounding it as soon as doing so will not block the light for the squinting human. He and his stomach grumble all the while. To top everything else off, the stale food and moldy atmosphere are not agreeing with his digestion.

Re: Fate of the world in our hands and 2 days left to live..
Janes moves forward to inspect the door but sets one foot on the stone staircase and stops dead in his tracks. At the top of the stairs, on the west wall a foot or so from the door, Janes spots a tiny inscription that shimmered slightly as he approached. He slowly backs away from the stairs and reports what he saw.

[ Looks like the censors ate part of that word, and I am too tired to play Wheel of Fortune. ]

Ulwe looks right where Janes says it is but can't see the inscription from the bottom of the stairs.

"A magical ward, no doubt," Khelzhad says softly. "It may be a simple alarm such as we have used ourselves, or it may be worse. Madragar, can you tell what it is?"

Draxim will attempt to examine the trap that Janes has discovered.

"If it's a magic trap I don' think I can get rid of it."

[Be more specific. Janes didn't go past the first step, and Draxim can't see it from the bottom of the stairs. -GM]

"Unfortunately I can call upon Orlanth's aid just so much. Khelzhad, or Madragar should perhaps see if they can Detect Magic I would myself, but Sangraal and I need to save our prayers to keep the foodstuffs pure. "

[OOC: Sorry for the delay - been sick.]

Madragar, who awoke in a start, sweating and cold, has seemed nearly as out of sorts this morning as last evening. His rage of the previous night is now replaced by a cold and formal quiet.

Without a word to his companions, Madragar approaches the inscription. Careful not to read it yet, he examines it with Witch Sight.

Re: Fate of the world in our hands and 2 days left to live..
["Madragar approaches the inscription"... good enough for me!]

Madragar strides up the staircase and gets about half way when...

DOUBLE CRACKAW!

A bolt of lightning arcs from the tiny magical inscription and the wizard's shoulder. Simultaneously, a second lance of blue electricity from the other inscription (the one on the east wall that no one saw) catches him in the leg. Madragar dances and twitches as the twin bolts of lightning play havoc with his nervous system. Then, losing all control of his muscles, the wizard tumbles back down the stone staircase to land at Draxim's feet.

[Madragar is critically wounded.]

Pogar, seeing Madragar light up like a christmas tree, rushes to grab him and pull him back, trying to avoid setting off the trap again.

Re: Fate of the world in our hands and 2 days left to live..
"Lightbringers save us what can we do about that now."

Assuming that the wounded mage will be in good hands with the clerics, Draxim will continue trying to assess the trap. He begins by trying to figure out which step it was that triggered the trap. He will go up quite conservatively, and try to see if one of the steps near where Madragar was when struck looks odd in any way. If he gets up close, he will summon Janes to help him.

Flash I love you but we only have 24 hours to save the earth
Sweat breaks out on Sangraals brow as Madragars body convulses from the electrical shocks.

Mumuring a short prayer to Yelm Sangraal petitions the LightBringer to gift him with the Sight Unshrouded.

Sangraal without approuching the stairs looks for the magic trap.

[OOC: Casts Detect magic

On a personal note: Yikes lighting! That would have killed Sangraal instantly if he had activated his ring ]
