At Tsai's comment Janes wheels around with his fist raised and murder in his eyes, but before he punches the crippled bastard in the nose he gets a grip on himself. With as much restraint in his voice as he can muster he asks, "Any idea of where the traps might be, or what type they like to use? Obviously lightening is a choice, but are they likely to use others?"

Tsai Zhuun, being blind, doesn't see Janes raise his hand. The blind man shrugs.
"I have no idea what kind of traps Ckarakos and his minions may have left behind," he states flatly. "Perhaps a degree of caution would aid our cause."

"Ulwe do you have a spell which allows an individual to Endure Elements? Such as the eletrical discharge we just witnessed. I have a spell but was wondering if you had it as well.
[OOC: Madragar probably needs a cure moderate which is second level. I also have Endure Elements but that is also second level. Can you cure Madragar and I'll caste Endure elements on Janes or whoever can attempt to disable it.

After Pogar drags Madragars burned body away from the trapped area, Pogar removes his pack and rumages through it to pull out a flask of cure moderate potion.
"Ye be thinkin that this'd be poisoned?" Pogar says as he pops the top and sniffs the potion.

arth and save Duran Duran...no no wait a minute that's wrong
Draxim gets about 4 steps from where Madragar got fried and stops. " I don't see nuthin'. Must be a magical trap...an abjuwhatzit? OK, whatever you say Sangraal. I don't think I can undo it. Madragar you gotta lay off the pipe weed buddy your spouting smoke like a forge chimney." Draxim returns to help the fuming spellcaster to his feet.
[ Just so folks know, magic traps start at a DC of like 30. Draxim only has a disable device of +6 and it's an int based skill. Not his strong suit. ]

Quote: Janes moves up to the door and takes a quick listen [ List +10 ]
[Janes hears nothing. It is dead silent on the other side, or the door is really thick. -GM]
"Janes you are one lucky innkeeper. Who then is going to try to open this door? Whomever so choses I will afford as much protection from the charge as I can."
[Resist Elements - absorbs 12 hp damage of specified energy type (electricity in this case) to the volunteer. ]

[ I am going to assume that there is no way to climb around to the door from your description ]
"I'll try it", offers Draxim immediately. "I think I can dodge those bolts if they even come out again. Don't you have to use up stuff when you cast your spells Madragar?"
Draxim removes the towering hulk of equipment from his back, does a couple stretches, says a quick prayer to Urox, then, once Ulwe casts the spell, takes the stairs at an angle he thinks will give him the best chance to dodge the twin beams of energy. Once at the door he will not bother listening because he realizes he is unlikely to hear anything through a door of such thick stone, he will simply open it hoping that will quell the magic of the trap.
[ Reflex save +7 and don't forget my evasion if I make it please ]

Re: arth
Draxim reaches the portal without getting fried. He is, however, unable to open the door. There is no obvious locking mechanism, no familiar "claw lock", and simply pushing on it in various places does not work.
[Both Sangraal and Ulwe, and to a lesser extent Madragar, have heard of magical warding traps that can be placed by clerics. A Glyph of Warding lasts for several days and can deal out a variety of different kinds of damage, one of which is electricity. Once they're activated, however, the Glyph is no longer a threat.]

Atan moves forward up the stairs as well looking carefully for the wards. Once at the top he helps Draxim search for a way to open the door.
[Starting at the top of the stairs Atan will search for secret doors moving down the staircase. Search +6]

'Eye lad," Pogar starts as he grips the hilt of his sword tighter. "A sleepin Gurrow woulda heard us, an we all know that gurrows are-a sleepin piles" Pogar whispers back with a nervous chuckle.
Slightly nervous after seeing the bald mage light up and have electricity shot all through his body, Pogar stands in a defensive posture.
As he stands, thoughts of the "shadows" floating in the air then trying to take over his body, sends shivers up and down his spine. Taking a moment, Pogar thinks of the armor and the blessings that were bestowed upon them, by the Dragonnewts. As he calls upon the power of the suit, it glows momentarily then the glow fades.

"Janes, we need your eyes!" pants Draxim through the adrenaline rush produced by the prospect of charging down the face of twin lightning bolts. "It's probaly up somewhere high," he adds in a mutter.
Draxim begins to suspect that the door is a false one, and looks for evidence to prove his theory.
[ Can you take 10 or 20 on a search? I forget. ]
[ Draxim has D.D. at +6. Doing the math which I looked up last night, a 25 + 3 is a DC of 28 So Draxim using his +2 thieves tools would have a total +8 to disable the trap. Not very good odds. I have invested almost the maximum that I can in this, but as I said, it is an int. based skill. ]
