Re: Underground
Flowing from Pogars dirty mouth, are streams of curses. Yanking out the bolts from his arm and hip, Pogar is ripe for battle. The initial twings of pain behind him, Pogar pops his head around the corner again and see's them moving forth.

"Ready 'em up, Lads!" Pogar calls out, as the undead move forward.

Re: Underground
[What Plan B always is: Get 'em.]

Madragar takes a 5' step to the north, leans around the pillar (maintaining as much cover as possible (75%?)) and unleashes a torrent of confusing syllables.

Magic Missile, three missiles, all targeted at #4. (If M. cannot see #4, then whichever one he -can- see.)

Plan B
As the ranks of undead begin to sling their bows the Sun priest spies his chance. Leaping forward with uncharacteristic speed Sangraal covers the distance to the doors in a flash. Passing through the open portal Sangraal tears his bronze disk from around his neck and holds it aloft for all to see.

”…thou shalt not gain victory over me.
for the Bringer is righteous;
he has cut me free from the cords of the wicked.
May all who hate the light
be turned back in shame.
May they be like grass on the roof,
which withers before it can grow;
Festering Rot, Filth of evil!
Behold unto you, the reapers scythe.”

[OOC: move double move 2 NE, 9 E. Use Heroic Feat to destroy undead

As turn undead except turned undead are considered destroyed.

Turning check : chr +3 ( +2 for chr, +1 for sun priest)
Turning damage: 2d6+6 ( +2 chr, +1 sun priest, +3 level)

Despite the deep would in his leg, Khelzhad hobbles forward to chuck the ceramic oil flask at the close-knit enemy.

Re: Plan B
Atan bounces away from the pillar as the legionaires sling their crossbows. Stalking forward he smoothly snatchs an arrow from the quiver adorning his back. Knocking it while moving he draws till the fletching brushes his cheek, sights his target and releases. The buzz of the arrow is lost as the litany of Sangraal reverberates in the ancient hall of the Dragonnewts.

[Move 2SE, 4E. Shoot #5 +9/2d6+2+Madragars spell]

[Don't forget Sangraal is pretty much in the room with them for those slinging area of effect bombs.]

Re: Underground
Sangraal bellows his soliloquy as he charges forward, throwing open the door that Draxim so recently closed. Though entirely focused on his chanting, and bringing the sacred power of his god to bear on the heinous undead, he can't help but notice another squad of legionnaires waiting in the northern corridor.

A trio of gleaming missiles zip over his shoulder, each striking a single soldier high on its chest. Madragar's spell cuts a neat hole in the creature's body, severing its spine and sending the whole dessicated mass tumbling to the ground.

"Festering Rot, Filth of evil! Behold..."

Sangraal's words are lost in the thunderous roar of the air itself as a wave of divine light spreads outward from his holy symbol. The entire front rank of the undead formation is quickly consumed, their bodies suddenly released from whatever necromantic power possessed them. Eight corpses crumple into heaps of armor and dust, vile purple mist escaping from their mouths and eyes.

[Sangraal is high enough level that he destroys lesser undead by default.]

Khelzad staggers toward the yawning portal and hurls his flask of oil which ruptures on impact with the sturdy siege machine. Flaming liquid pours over the delicate firing mechanism of the ballista, as well as over the hands of its loaders.

Searching for targets, Atan advances. As one of the ballista crew stares blankly at its burning fingers, Atan puts an arrow in its neck. Expressionless, the legionnaire falls backward with a clatter.

[Map. Pogar, Ulwe, Janes.]

Re: Underground
Ulwe brandishes his holy symbol as he moves up next to Khelzhad and Janes (2 SE, 4 E) and though his power over undead is not as great as Sangraal and Yelm, he calls upon Orlanth's hatred for the walking dead to keep the legionnaires at bay.

Re: Underground
[ I'm confused. Why did he have to fling open the door I closed? ]

[Because he moved right through it. -GM]

[ You must just laugh at us sometimes. ]

[I dunno. Maybe I don't communicate the situation adequately, or maybe folks just don't read carefully enough. I don't want to be strict about movement and actions, but the flip side is me taking over the campaign even more than I already have. -GM]

Re: Underground
Ulwe adds the wrath of Orlanth to the effort, raising the tiny gold spear around his neck and showing the wretched undead the face of the Wind Lord. Though not quite as dramatic as Sangraal's thunderous blast of holy power, the presence of Orlanth sweeps through the chamber, the air suddenly raising to a momentary gale. Five of the dead soldiers abruptly drop their weapons and stagger away from the divine wind. Two wander aimlessly, the light of intelligence gone from their eyes. The remaining three simply fall to the ground wailing incoherently in madness and despair. It is a pitiful sight.

Janes, impressed with the holy might of the normally bickering priests moves forward to add his bolts to the carnage.

[ Janes moves 1 SE, 2 E, 1 NE, 1 E and fires at 14 (since 3 is on the ground right?)

Lt. Crossbow +7 to hit d8+1 damage crit 19-20 bonus is from point blank shot ]

Re: Underground
Janes leans around the corner and swiftly raises his crossbow to his shoulder. Above the head of one grovelling undead, Janes' bolt strikes another in the chest. Though it punches through the soldier's mail hauberk, the zombie disregards the wound. Drawing its gleaming blade the creature charges, along with the rest of its comrades.

Bolt still protruding from its chest, the first legionnaire to the portal makes a powerful lunge at Khelzhad who deftly parries the attack. Many of the other soldiers swarm around Sangraal.

The Sun priest is struck repeatedly, but his armor manages to absorb most of the damage. Still, a long gash along his left arm drains a stream of red blood down onto the grip of his glowing flail.

A third squad of legionnaires emerge from the northern corridor and form a shield wall just north of Sangraal's position.

[Map updated. Go.]

Re: Underground
For the brief of moments Sangraal stands up to the oncoming hoard of rotted flesh before giving way to the masive numbers.
Soon he has his back to the wall and with little room to manuavere he places his entire exsistence in the hands of his faith.

[OOC: 1 SE and turn undead #19,11,12,13,20

Turning check : chr +3 ( +2 for chr, +1 for sun priest)
Turning damage: 2d6+6 ( +2 chr, +1 sun priest, +3 level)

After reviewing the turn undead rules: anything under 1 1/2 HD is destroyed instead of turned.

"We're going to move up, now Druuga," says Madragar, directing the man around the pillar. He stands directly west of Draxim and plants Druuga directly south of himself (behind the first southern pillar).

[That's 55' of movement, and thus his whole turn.]
