Re: Underground, Part IV
As the group trudges up the ramp, Ulwe lays a hand on Madragar. "We cannot have our wizard so depleted."

With that, the Aerendalen priest beseeches Orlanth to restore the son of a fisherman's power.

[Lesser Restoration. ]

[Janes has had dibs but has chosen to give them up for a future pick. He should either take the ring or the chain or stop complaining. ]

[ Joyner, bite me. I would be more than happy to take the ring. I was being something called magnanimous. Look it up in something called a dictionary.]

Re: Underground, Part IV
Ulwe looks over at Janes and asks him: "Are you satisfied with the division of loot Innkeeper? If not, speak up and we'll sort this out. This is no time for division, nor rancour. We've hard work ahead and we need everyone together on this. "

Re: Underground, Part IV
Looking over at Ulwe and Janes bickering, Pogar says to Ulwe "Eye, lad. Leave the boy alone. If'n he needs a bit o' help, me a...well, me sword'll help." as he pats the hilt of the sword, with a wry smile.

As he looks at Janes, Pogar adds "If'n yer want'n something, ye are allowed ta be greedy," he says with a wink, "but, Ima sure ye be already know'n"

Re: Underground, Part IV
The companions march up the long corridor to the secret door. Draxim and Atan both listen at the door but soon indicate that the room beyond is silent.

[Oh, and keep it in character. This inter-personal bickering is getting pretty old.]

Re: Underground, Part IV
[ I'm going to apologize for some of my recent comments. I guess that I was just mad about the short sword since I was originally given the grinning blade and then it was taken away to be someone else's pick only to discover that it was stashed in a backpack. That's the kind of thing that gets to a guy.

With regards to the division of loot, no, I am in no way satisfied. The one time Janes was given the chance to get a permanent magic item, prior to this, it was a continual light lantern which was offered as an actual pick. That didn't settle well after not getting the sword and both times that was the result of Sean, so I admit to there being some bad blood there.

Out of character I find some of Sean's comments extremely annoying, in character Janes thinks of Ulwe as greedy and selfish. I don't like the fact that I was trying to give good magic items to where they would likely do the most good only to be given a hard time about it.

Anyway, just wanted to say sorry for whining, I was just pissed off. ]

Re: Underground, Part IV
[From my perspective Janes had a permanent magic item in his hands and gave it away... the ring. That's fine, he was doing (in character) what he thought best by letting Sangraal have it.

The problem came when you made the OOC comment about the potions being his first magic items, which was clearly your own choice. The ring could have been his first magic item. Sean's quip, however, was totally unnecessary. I don't think he was giving you a hard time about why you gave away the ring, but that you were pointing out that the potions were your first magic items when you chose for that to be so.

Again we see that taking things out of character leads to inter-personal bullshit. Any more comments on this particular incident should be moved to the General Discussion forum. Let's stick to the game in here.]

Re: Underground, Part IV
Once they get to the door, Pogar will walk to the door and stop, slowly turn his head to Draxim and whispers, "Ye check this door lad?", as an image of some hidden trap sending him to the land of his ancestors, plays through his head.

[Draxim has thoroughly checked all three secret doors. -GM]

Re: Underground, Part IV
Janes looks at Draxim and Atan to see if they heard anything and then checks the 6 to make sure we didn't leave anything important behind. "Has everyone peed? You don't know when we're going to stop next."

Khelzhad loads his crossbow and indicates his readiness.

Re: Underground, Part IV
Draxim opens the door, as quietly as possible standing to one side to give him an immediate view through the crack as it opens, but not like right behind the door so that it would knock him off his feet if a chill serpent plowed into it.

Crossbow ready.

"Just have a light source handy should we need it quickly."

Atan readies his Olmanii recurve, sticking with his tried and true weapon over the old dragonnewt bow. Not too picky though, as his quiver is full of the ancient arrows and another bundle secured with a strap is tied to his backpack.

"Pogar, if you wish you may have my sword. It is not as heavy as the axe you carried, but it is finely wrought.", Atan offers the mastercrafted and well cared for long sword.

[Non-magical mastercrafted longsword.]

Re: Underground, Part IV
[It is pitch black. Light sources are good, mmm'kay?]

The secret door pivots on its center point revealing (at least to the dwarves) a large chamber. The companions are instantly struck by a wave of vile vapors, the gaseous herald of rotting flesh. Draxim, peeking through the opening, describes a scene of carnage. A half dozen bloody shapes lay strewn about the place, their mail ripped apart and their weapons laying in broken pieces here and there. Pogar looks over the bodies and guesses it was a duergar patrol.

The chamber extends to the north and south out of sight, though not far away to the south a long ramp descends, apparently parraleling the one behind the secret door.

Re: Underground, Part IV
With a silent prayer to Yelm Sangraals flail shines like a beacon. The light swings errily across the dead partol.

"Wrong end of Urox's horns these vermin did meet." Sangraal says as he gingerly steps over and around the corpses. Cursing softly he covers his nose with a leather glove.

"Where to?"

[OOC: Just wanted to post...Denmark is fun as usual. I understand why we opened the door in darkness but think its all clear now. Just tell Sangraal to kill the light if needed and he'll do it]
