Re: være indviet i hemmeligheden!!! ( keep it a secret!)
[YT: I don't think you heard correctly - the only mention about marks the door was that it appeared to have marks made on it - IOW the Duergar had discovered the door but not the mechanism or key to open it.]
Khelzhad will also commit the key pattern to memory.
[3 votes so far to go back and check the other lower door]

Ulwe for once has no opinion and is content to go with the majority. He casts light on the blade of his spear.

Re: være indviet i hemmeligheden!!! ( keep it a secret!)
"Nah, I just meant we should go back the way we came and open it when we go through it. Keeping 'em closed is smart seein' as how we seem to be the only ones as knows how ta open 'em."
This being the consensus, Draxim ushers everyone back inside the secret door from which they just emerged, closes it, and the party proceeds back down the way they came to open the secret door from the armory.

Sangraal shakes his head in understanding as Draxim heards the party back into the passageway. "Ok, now I'm on the same page."

The Heart
[Alas the map file is at work and it's complex enough that I don't want to redraw it. I'll try to be clear in my language.]
The companions pass once again through the armory, heading south. They reach the third secret door, push their way through and find themselves in a large open chamber with high vaulted ceilings.
After a bit of looking around the companions find, about one hundred feet to the west, a pair of ornate double doors which, with a little figuring, appear to be the same doors that Druuga was tied to - except on the other side. To the south a corridor passes on into what is presumably the chamber in which Madragar's broken body was found. To the north a wide tunnel soon becomes a ramp going up. This ramp seems to run parallel to the ramp to the north of the armory.
Beyond its various exits, the large chamber is empty. A few stone columns stand along the walls displaying the same ornate carvings and inscriptions that decorate the rest of the subterranean complex.
Suddenly Pogar, Khelzhad, and Draxim all stop and appear to listen. Then, one by one, all three get down on their knees and put their ears to the cold flagstones. With their heads to the ground the dwarves mumble at each other in their native tongue. In the cool stillness of the chamber, however, the ears of humans and elves also begin to pick out a sort of deep and resonant thumping, like the slow beating of an enormous heart.
Pogar, Khelzhad, and Draxim get into a traditional dwarven huddle until they come to a consensus. Khelzhad turns to the others and says simply "It's coming from the west."

Re: The Heart
After the group has explored for a bit Ulwe says to the mage "Madragar, I do not think your fears are correct. We never brough that cursed son of a whore, or whatever it is through the secret doors. Though we did release him from his bonds. But from what you say and what I've seen happened to you and these Duergar, he or it could have broken them anyway."
When the booming heartbeat echos through the complex, Ulwe looks nervously this way and that.
"Let's not stand still here. Before we go up the ramp, why dont we examine the Northern set of double doors, in the room to our West?"

Re: The Heart
On the way past the armory, Draxim picks up 2 more of the short composite bows and stows them with his gear.
"There's got to be something more to this damn armory then a bunch of scout kthsthjl..." his tounge trips on the Dragonnewt word for 'armaments'.
In response to Ulwe, Draxim says, "Are we ready to tangle with whatever gutted Madragar? (beggin' yer pardon) If we go open that door to the west, there's a good chance we'll have to, so let's just be prepared. "

And Khelzhad takes the crowbar that Janes had discarded. His pack already makes a lot of noise, but he Ghuraskalli have an affinity for tools.
He agrees with Ulwe on checking out the western doors.
"Should we scout or go as a force. Master Atan, can you sense the juggernaut's trail?"

Re: The Heart
When the group heads back to the armory, Pogar will pick up one of the heavy crossbows and a pouch of bolts. [If he can carry it with his sword, as well as the bolts, he will, if not he will discard the crossbow with an emphatic "Bah!"]
In response to the thoughts of checking the western door, Pogar nods in agreement.
"Eye, if'n we're all together, by me thoughts, we'll be alright. Though, we're gonna need ta do yer majiks on me n draxim." As though a lightbulb goes off above Pogars head, Pogar, will quietly put the sword and crossbow down, and remove his backpack. Rumaging around for a moment, with some silent cursing from the surly dwarf, he finally finds what he is looking for.
As he pulls out the vials, his smile fades to shock. "Bah," he says angerly. Pulling back his arm to throw the glass vials, Pogar stops just prior to releasing the glass.
With a resigned sigh, he quietly puts them down onto the floor. "Thought'n might have me an edge on them meanies. Oh well" Pogar mutters to himself, under his breath.

[Hmm, ok, I have 4 on my sheet, but that may have been a restored copy. Oh well. Edited post to reflect the change.]

[The maps never seem to work for me when I am on the ship.]
Atan nods, " I can try to track this thing. It might be best to start back with the Duergar as the blood was much larger in quantity."

Re: The Heart
In the chamber in which the companions are currently standing Atan has no trouble finding a blood trail. With further examination he finds a large paw-print and determines some huge bipedal beast ran through this chamber from the south and continued on to the north.

While Atan studies the tracks Janes checks to make sure that his sword is free in it's sheath, his crossbow is loaded and ready and that no one is sneaking up behind us.

Re: The Heart
Draxim moves over to the double doors to the west, and stops to listen again. He tries to use the difference in the sound to tell whether the thumping is approaching, and how close it might be to the doors. If he doesn't think the thumping is right there, he will check the doors for traps, and see if they are locked.

Re: The Heart
The thumping gets a bit louder as he approaches the door but it doesn't seem to be moving any closer. The door isn't locked and Draxim finds no traps.
