Re: ...
A Wish (or Miracle) will not do jack really. Remember, Wish spells are powerful, but not nearly as poweful as they used to be. Basically if it can't already be done with a 9th level spell, a Wish won't do it either.
By the time you could pull off an Epic level Wish that might work, the Demilich wouldn't be a threat anyway (a CR 21 one, at least). A bigger Demi might have his own Epic Wish/Contingency spells as well.....
Re: ...
Actually, Silver... I entertained that Idea as well. Looked up "Dead Magic Fields" in the Forgotten Realms campaign, then looked over to Anti-Magic fields... Undead are not affected by the loss of magic. They won't be able to cast tho, but their immunity remains quite staunchly intact.
So... I figure that was cause for another Spell seed in the Epic Level Handbook
Re: ...
Was just going to write about a potential Demi-Lich killer (Monk+Epic Feat Vorpal strike+ antimagic field) but the 3.0 PHB says Ki Strike is a supernatural ability, so it would stand to reason the Vorpal Strike feat would be as well. Ah well.
NO LOOPHOLE FOR YOU!
Friggin 3.5 PHB kindly omits that detail. /grumble

Quote:why kill what you can bury alive and let go mad mad mad from years of sitting in the dark.
Um...thats what they do already. In fact, its usually the fact that some stupid PCs come stumbling in and disturbing his pondering the metaphysics of the universe that cause him to stop sitting alone in the dark in the first place.
Quote:Does the guide say anything about demiliches being able to damage their own leg to get that pesky chain off?
So many things wrong with that statement. First being that a demilich is just a floating skull(or maybe hand). Second, even if you could chain one up and it might not be able to blast its body to get off the chain, I'd be damn impressed by the chain that the demilich couldn't simply obliterated.

yep....that would do it alright. 3500 points of minimum damage on one physical attack is impressive!
(edit - rofl just read a few pages down...one guy has it up to over 150 million d6's....)

Re: ..."Pretty much it comes down to any DM who lets it get this far has lost control of the rolling cart of PC antics anyway."
Only if the GM doesn't know how to handle it, doesn't want it but let it happen anyway, and lets it overtake the game. It's entirely possible for GMs to govern epic level games that are both not restricted beyond the book rules, and not out of his hand. It's competency, not restrictions, that make a good GM.

Keep in mind, that character never went over level 20. Also, it was mentioned during that thread but the character would have poor hp and ac, but if it did hit you with its rock. You would be very very dead.
