Re: sunday! sunday! sunday!
Sunday 9pm my time I'll try to join in! Hope it won't last more than 4-5 hours though, as I still got work in the morning. Can't commit to a longer timeframe as I'm moving in three weeks time, but I'll at least come along for now.
Re: Restarting neverwinter sunday nights
Cool, so we're going to start at noon PST, or 3 PM EST, or 9 PM Oslo time on Sunday if no one objects. The first module shouldn't be more than 4 hours.
I randomly generated some numbers and came up with these class assignments... you can take whatever class you wish at first level, but you should build your character to be able to fill these roles:
Krimzan: healer (please do not take dire wolf or bear as a companion)
Aiden: main tank
Loreleli: bard
Elerion: thief
I'll be the DM.
You may want to check the readme file for the module because it says something about three deities you can pick and it having an effect in the game... I remember Cyric, Lathander, and was it Tempus?
Loreleli's friend can play secondary tank, but I need to clear it with a friend to make sure he's not around for the 5th spot at that time. You can also play with a hak that allows discipline for rangers and monks if you wish, because Bioware has said it will make these class skills of rangers and monks in the next expansion.
The play style will be roleplaying-lite, and remember no reloads (so if you fail at a pickpocket and every commoner in the world wants to kill you, life will be bad).

Re: Restarting neverwinter sunday nights
It's probably what everyone does, has a character, plays the character consistent with its personality, but no penalty to talk about the game or talk out of character.
Re: Restarting neverwinter sunday nights
Well, Loreleli, you can ask your friend to play, my friend might or might not show up. It should be fine with six players even.
I spent a few hours modifying the module... added some chests and traps, and increased the size of encounters, to account for the party size.
I also spent a lot of time just writing out a few scripts so people could make more evil choices (even though it's easier to just tell the DM you want to do something evil and to do it that way)... sort of good experience because I'd like to add some quests to the Safehouse module if I get my hands on it.

Re: Restarting neverwinter sunday nights
A few things:
1. I got hijacked by a friend into LAN'ing tonight. Could he join in for tonight? If not, I'm afraid I'll have to be away today :/
2. Do I need SoU? Cause I dont have a legal copy of that, only the original game.
Re: Restarting neverwinter sunday nights
Hope you guys had a good time.
It was a bit more dying than I had hoped to see... I had cranked up the difficulty of some key encounters thinking there would be a party of six instead of four, and it got ugly in an encounter or two--but it was good to see you guys handled the goblins and wolves so well. The party was also a little less well equipped or experienced than I expected when they went off to Eureka because you didn't do the major quest (the Fistaloon quest, which had a money or an experience option depending on if you doublecrossed the guard). You guys just wouldn't report the activity of the innkeep! But it worked out fine in the end experience and lootwise because the party was smaller.
I also added a number of floor and door traps to try to slow down the pace the party moved around, so be more careful and try to stay closer together next time as the penalty for death becomes higher. I think we might as well drop the CON penalty with death, but if you die early on, you fall behind the next module. (if people die too early, we could have a rule where the gods will take pity on these souls and give a second chance, like a mulligan)
PS: Elerion, hope you will make it next Sunday, we should try to set up a time this week to test and see if you have log in troubles!

Re: Restarting neverwinter sunday nights
Our rogue is asking for an evening start time, say, 7 PM PST. The next module is expected to be another 3 hours. Ponzicar, who played with the NWN group last year also said he should be joining us.
Who is okay or not okay with a change in time? I know it would mean playing till 1 AM on the east coast. If it makes a difference to anyone or maybe if Elerion will make Sunday, we can stick to the earlier time. Or we could do a Saturday night game, if people don't think they'll have plans.
