Hmm wonder if a well geared 65 elemental rogue could solo him if old world slow poison landed...

My regular group xp'd on him and the other 1st tier named from around 58 average lvl to well.. now (damned people and their epics). Group of non-raiders who bought most of their rather cheap gear, so it's not hard. We could do it with 3 60th lvls and 1 65th lvl pretty easy, half of them bots. Not bad xp there either. Just need a decent puller.

anyone know the spawn timer of AoA? can you set up a camp to clear ph's in hopes of him spawning? or is he say on a 3 day timer or so?

Camp clearing type mob. We set up outside the bldg nearest Coercer T'Vala and cleared away. On a side nite, the named SPectre dropped shattered emeral of corruption for us and we had a very happy ranger. Might be worth your while to clear that named camp as well

This guy is a ghost. Have camped him for several hours and never seen him spawn. Am I crazy or did those spears used to rot constantly because they were so common?

Have to agree, i think this guy is a figment of everyone's imagination! Spent about 20 hours camping him over the weekend, while i saw the lich named and coercer 2 or 3 times each, there was not one single AoA.
Frustrating as all hell but getting pretty decent XP on my twinks while my mage mows through em so i'm not too pissed .... yet.

Finally got AoA to spawn on second cycle. Timed the spawn at 20 minutes pretty much on the nose, AND...tada he dropped the spear first kill. I am starting to believe the AoA is only mob to drop spear now, or if it drops so rare on regular Abhorrents it's not even worth trying them. Camp that little row of houses, not bad xp and you'll get it eventually GL!!!

yeah its possible to solo for a 65 rogue with good gear. I sneaked around the zone poping off the abhorrents, no spear. Came back the next day and did the same no luck, but there was a group camping the Avatar of Abhorrence area, and they showed me the spot he spawns in. So i came back the next day and split the spawn, it poped and droped the spear after about an hour.
I would recommend camping the named. If you pull outside the house theres 1 wanderer, one on the ground floor, 1 on the stairs and 2 spawns in the top room. The leftish side spawn is the named PH. With decent regen, dps, AA, gear, (poisons!) and with the spawn broken, a 65 rogue can solo for their spear. Take a instant gate potion becuase you might want to use escape to split the top spawn.
