are there any poison recipies from LoY or LDoN? I know both those expansion advertised more tradeskill recipies, but I have yet to see a poison combine listed anywhere from either expansion...

Re: LOY Poison Recipes
LoY yes, using foraged/fished components only from those zones.
LDoN no.

Re: LOY Poison Recipes
The only LoY recipe I've found to be of any use (and only if your guild is doing PoEB) is Paralyzing Neurotoxin. It's a poison based 30% slow created using Blowfish Barbs (fished in torigan mines, good luck finding the water, its a pain the first time), constrict suspension, and a lined poison vial.
Despite the fact this seems like an old world recipe (no resin or mercury), it is combinable to make a charged version, and adds a proc, rather than being the 1 shot going off on the first blow old world style. However, the proc is of a much shorter duration than the POP poisons, lasting only 2 minutes at level 65.
Others from LOY include:
Nematocyst Poison: ovate jellyfish (fished in Gulf of Gunthak), constrict suspension, lined poison vial. I think this is a DD poison (75dd?). I've never actually made it. I could be mistaken on what it actually does.
Anemone Feedback: frilled anemone (fished in dulak, again, its hard to find a place to fish here), constrict suspension, lined poison vial. This is a 20hp lifetap. Whee. This is combinable into a charged version as well, but the duration is more in line with POP poisons, lasting about 15 minutes.
Hmm, I thought there were 4, but for the life of me, these three are the only ones I can recall.

Re: LOY Poison Recipes
Nematocyst does a DD proc of about 54 (at lvl 46) and casts Incapacitate, or something similar. "Target looks frail."
The ovate jellyfish are caught pretty often, too.
Re: LOY Poison Recipes
oh, that slow poison could be useful sometimes, as it is the only poison based slow in the game (and together with that cold-based slow proc from the trident one of the only non-magic slows in the game). There have been a few raid-type places where a poison based slow would be useful, as developers have often just coded a monster magic-immune if they dont want it being slowed... this would give us a tricky way around that.

Yes I read that was just trying to see if somebody actually verified it in a log from the actual fight. But I did that today myself.
[Mon Dec 29 21:55:37 2003] You pierce Warlord Gintolaken for 42 points of damage.
[Mon Dec 29 21:55:37 2003] You begin casting Paralyzing Neurotoxin.
[Mon Dec 29 21:55:37 2003] Your spell was partially successful.
[Mon Dec 29 21:55:37 2003] Warlord Gintolaken looks frail.

Yeah was a pain, so heres semi decent directions.
Easy if you have the maps.
Coming from the Crypt of Nadox zone at the false wall, take first LEFT door. Down the steps and jump into the pond, come up and out of the pond.
Youre now in a room with two "ponds" in it, swim down the one on the right side of the room, (the green pond), thru the tunnel and up into a cavern. Nothing saw sos, or regular invis on the way down.
Approx loc once in the cavern is +1500 -170 just for referrance.
Good luck Edited by: Justyse Cutiepants at: 3/14/04 12:55 pm
1 shot, terrible duration + random duration, not 10 doseable, and it effects movement speed as well so more things immune to it - I think it may have stacking issues with other debuffs too. I tried to use that poison a lot during Velious and eventually came to the conclusion that it wasnt worthwhile.

Quote:Um, no it isnt. We have 3 other slow poisons all slowing for 50%.
3?
1. Stiffeneing Ergot
2. See above
3. ??????????
4. ??????????(as you said there were 3 others besides the above.
IMA - trying to farm those venom sacks royally sucks ass... I even vendor farm them, but with the lack of players in FoB anymore... even that proves futile.
Re: thx
just for the record, Nematocyst Poison is (your level)+10 DD. at 65 its a solid 75dd if not resisted.
I don't have ingenuity, so i dunno how exactly that factors in (though i'm sure it factors in exactly as it should and brain has melted at this time of morning).
Re: thx
I found a paper on the ground near the lighthouse in one of the Loy zones (sorry been away for a while due to my job) It has a list of recipies for LoY poisons.

LoY Poisons
The poison made from ovate jellyfish does 65 hp DD at level 53. I am not sure what max is. The jellyfish seems to be the most common of the fished components.
There are 3 old world poisons that are a one shot 95% snare, 50% slow effect. The duration depends on the level. The class of poisons is the 'paralyzing root' line. The type 1 is called Spine Break. It is made from components purchased from Glidden Toxxfodder in WK. The type II is Kinetic Suppressent. It requires the components from Toxxfodder in WK plus Basilisk eyestalks (farmed in Lavastorm Mts). The type III is Stiffening Ergot. The ingredients are all farmed in Field of Bone off Heartsting scorpions. Rare drop.
The difference is that the type 1 lasts 42 sec, type 2 lasts 72 secs and type 3 lasts 102 secs. Also, I think the lower the type the more likely it is to be resisted by higher level mobs.

Re: LoY Poisons
i fished the rocks near the lighthouse with a druid friend for about hour and a half and got 18 jellyfish...well i got 5 and she got all the rest ...my fishing skill started at 3 and went to 52 and hers went from 70 to around 90..so i think skill is needed for this item...and its a poison you can zone with..and in ldon it lasts me about 15-30min. i like to use alot of calciom rot as well in bb adv..i leave a bag open and on left side of screen full of poisons and keep 2 slots open..1 for poison and 1 for a 2nd piercing weapon...that way i always have one with poison
