Re: Would love to know designed DPS percentages as per heale
I'm pretty sure if you FD while having the pet, the FD autofails (it doesn't say so in the cast tho, but the mob is still gonna kick your ass).
So the necro "uber DPS with pet and FD" doesn't hold water.

Necro can stay FD for up to 2 minutes before the pet poofs. This was changed long ago when a necro could simply part a pet somewhere it could solo stuff, FD and go to bed.

Re: Would love to know designed DPS percentages as per heale
There is no difference in Feign Death whatsoever whether you have a pet up or not. If you pull too many mobs soloing as a Necro for instance, and your pet already has aggro, you can FD, let your pet eat it, and the mobs will leave you alone after the pet dies. Once you Feign without getting the "has fallen to the ground message", you are essentially "dead" to a mob unless you get cast upon, or stand up.
Also I've heard reports of Necro pets parsing at 80 up to maybe close to 100 DPS, when the Necro has the GoD AA "pet affinity" and the pet has all the group buffs, like SoP, etc. Also depends on pet focus level. Necro's nuke as well (albeit not all that well), so between Nukes, Dots, and Pet, high-end Necro's commonly break 300 DPS on raid mobs. In some rare instances have gotten near 400, or so I've read on the Necro boards.

dunno, i changed over to a wiz main after 4 years of playing my rogue.
it's pretty discouraging getting out dps'd by upwards of 20% or more by wizards, and even getting outdps'd by bot wizards with subpar gear. but now i have the best of both worlds

To me, high end means PoTime+ gear, so my perception might be a little skewed. However, be that as it may, I routinely break 300 dps on raid mobs, and when the fight is short enough and I burn both damage discs, can easily break 400 dps.
Pre-PoTime necros might spike up to 300+ dps, but they aren't doing it as a matter of routine, its the exception to the rule. DPS is a long-term function, not something to be looked at fight per fight. Long term, necros aren't out-DPSing rogues in a raid setting.

That argument only works if mana is a limiting factor which is stopped being a long time ago.
Wizards don't run OOM on raids unless they are new recruits.
