Sorry to resurrect this from the dead, but after reading this thread I had some mild expectations for at least a decent movie.
Utter crapola, and only slightly entertaining in a few parts.
I love far-fetched characters and situations as long as there's some logic in everything - especially the characters' actions. Even small details like Hellboy using a stone-carved sword, a newspaper clip titled "APOCALYPSE" or every single character's reaction to GIANT HELL SPAWN (usually just standing around.)
Suspension of disbelief is what it's all about for me, and it doesn't take realistic settings or characters - just CONSISTENCY and LOGIC in all things in the story world.

1. X2 sucked horribly, the nightcrawler/ white house scene was awesome and the wolverine vs. special forces scene was par. Every other scene was @#%$ crap. Hellboy > X2 times 50.
2. The hulk was a piece of @#%$, it wasn't even close to par.
