Re: Anatomy of a Rant
Allow me to correct your post, my English-speaking friend.
Quote:I've never heard of the phrase, "nullify as" followed by the oppossiteI should be spelled "opposite" of what your nullfyingI should be spelled "nullifying". My initial example was correct and I can speak English quite well.
Here I've moved onto another paragraph. While this used to be about a debate about whether or not Ruccus is actually a genius, it's not a forum regarding the proper essay formatting and editing of these posts. I guess I was too busy with real papers to focus too much on this. And guess what my friend, after an independent clause (meaning you have a noun and a verb) it is necessary to use a conjunction or start a new sentence. Some semicolon magic will work here I do think I was somewhat creative on my original post. You know why....... Well I've never even played everquestI'm a proper noun, capitalize me! and I made it all up. yep,The first words in your sentences should be uppercase, because they like to show how important they are! I just heard about the backstabbing and made the rest up from there. But you took it so personally and went nuts with a gigantic posting that rivaled the most arrogant writing I have seen in my entire life on "Earth." Yes, my friend. You responded to made up fancy with a manifesto on your brilliance. You color coded your work and explained what a metaphor is. That's something I couldn't have come up with.
New paragraph- WllI'm supposed to be spelled, "well." let it be known- Ruccus is a brilliant writer. hesentence capitalization again uses paragraphs and metaphors and puts incredible amounts of thought into his work. Of course afterwards he explaiinsI only have only 1 "i," like a pirate - YEEARG! it to everyone casueI'm spelled cause he doesn't think they're smart enough to interpret if for themselves. One word of advice- write for the level of your audience. If you think we don't know what a metaphor is, don't use one.
The Internet - Demonstrating to the world how little you paid attention in your English classes.

Re: Anatomy of a Rant
Aidden, remember I work as a jail guard - I've been called every name in the book, and some not in books. I've only had one insult in my entire life that's ever hurt me, and that was more because of who said it than what was actually said.
But it honestly pains me that Vulcan128 still doesn't understand my initial post; he's thinking that I felt the need to explain my post to everyone because I'm superior to everyone. That it definitely not the case, since I even state in simple english:
Quote:Normally I wouldn't have gone back point-for-point explaining my post, but I figure that the rest of The Safehouse would understand it and didn't want you to feel left out. As a Safehouse staff member I'm caring enough to go that extra mile, especially for those with 'special' needs which require 'special' attention
I didn't explain my post for Safehousers, I explained it just for you Vulcan128, because I think you're a very 'special' person.

Re: Anatomy of a Rant
And now for my actual thoughts on your post (mods forgive me if I herein violate the "dink" rule, I'll try to be good.):
I agree with Ruccus, your posts were uncreative and stupid. I did laugh, but only when the mods came around to deliver your spanking.
*gasp* *shock* You've never played Everquest? *gasp X2* *shock X2* I'm most assuredly not the only one who saw that in your post. Clearly, you had no idea what you were talking about. Even in attempting to pull a cheesy "piss everyone off" rant out of your ass, you failed at being creative. None of your posts have offered valid criticism. They've only stated something to the effect of "I don't like this... you shouldn't either." (Mind you that should probably be said with a rough Johnny Weissmuller "Me Tarzan; You Jane," grunt to it.) I'll always remember a quote my Latin teacher had up on her wall: "A wise man speaks because he has something to say. A fool speaks because he has to say something." It would not be a stretch to say you could be best described as the latter.
When it comes to Ruccus, I'm not exactly sure who you're up on your soapbox preaching to. The mods are the only ones interested in keeping you around, and their interest in you is purely in seeing you like a carnival sideshow attraction. "Come see the troll! Tonight, and only tonight! Watch as he blathers on endlessly about topics no one cares about! Marvel as he squeals like a stuck pig when someone threatens his intelligence!" Look around this board. If this is how you're going to act, it's not the mods that want you gone. It's the posters. We don't want you. Take a hike. You'll find no friends among the vets here. Find somewhere you're accepted. Might I suggest searching around the archives of Weekend Web over at Something Awful.
Quote:and I'm not sure why that last post deserves his banning
Well, it wasn't really his last post, but rather the fact that he has no less than three locked threads in the first page of Rant Hall, criticized a mod, debated a mod's decision, and trolled. And he is still around. That HAS to be a Safehouse first.
In any case, watching you mods play with him is funny, even though Vulcan himself is not funny. So I won't lose any sleep over it.

oh really...
Alright, this has gone far enough. The truth needs to be revealed. Ruccus I know you were joking when you said:
Quote:I explained it just for you Vulcan128, because I think you're a very 'special' person.
But you may never realize how true those words really are.
Vulcan is the nephew of my half brother twice removed.
In late March of this year he was diagnosed with Mosaic Down's syndrome at the UC Davis medical center. for information, click this link: www.stress-cocchi.org/Down23.htm
Some days are harder than others, but my half brother twice removed is trying his best to get by taking care of little Vulcan (he's now 12).
Recently, Vulcan has discovered the joys of posting controversial subjects on message boards throughout the internet. He loves to live in a world where people judge him by the content of his character rather than by his extra chromosome.
He thought perhaps the members of the Safehouse would enjoy his rants which he spends hours and hours slaving over to create. Sure, my half brother twice removed could spell check them. But then it wouldn't be little Vulcan's accomplishment anymore, now would it?
So Ruccus, you're right. Vulcan is 'special.' Not only to me, but to all of our extended family. I hope you're happy. He called me up today and he said these exact words:
"Uncle, why won't they stop laughing at me?"
It just about broke my heart. Do you, Ruccus, have a heart?

Re: oh really...
Yes, finally we're getting some originality (though unfortunately not from Vulcan128) . I think the "Uncle, why won't they stop laughing at me?" bit was a bit over the top and out of place though, since I've never laughed at him; my entire complaint has been the lack of originality in his posts.
But to answer your question, I probably do indeed have a heart. I mean I assume it's there, though I've never actually cracked open my chest to look. Is that a good enough answer? Edited by: Ruccus at: 4/29/04 4:51 pm

Re: oh really...
Well at least his last post was his most original, though unfortunately does it count since it wasn't under the guise of Vulcan128? Ah, close enough; I'll give it to him (though it still doesn't come close to making up for all the unoriginal posts as Vulcan128; it makes up for the backstab one I locked though).

My theroy is that all of our mods are actually hyperintelligent anthropomorphic feline creatures from outer space that are disguising themselves as "normal" humans - they love to toy with their prey for hours, watching them roll and twist on the floor, back broken, before finally pouncing in for the kill...
Now, to test my theory - *dangles a bit of string that has a pouch of catnip tied to the end*
