Look, I have been thinking about what to do with JRA for a while now because quite honestly I'm sick of moderating it. I have people I consider my friends attacking me for issues that really amount to nothing more than a stupid internet message board, and I'm sick of it. Besides, I can't run it properly from Newfoundland anyway. If someone wants to volunteer to take it over and run it, they can; if not, it'll probably close.
I recognise that Deepal made a huge donation to your charity and you have every right to defend him, but you complained just as much as any of the rest of us when he was banning all of us (including you, my friend, remember? You were saying the exact same things I was.) In the end, though, it's not worth fighting with my friends over something trivial and stupid and petty like this. I'm through moderating as of my move East, and I'm through arguing over stupid internet bulls***.
I'll see everyone at the Stubby-Q.

I didn't complain when I got banned , I just took it and left. Funny thing is I didn't know I was banned until about 2 months after my last post there 
I certainly did complain about the official board , it still has it's issues with certain trolls , but I have also come to accept what it is , just like this board. I still post over there becuase I feel the younger fans could use some information from time to time. There is far more bitching and whining at Jra and the tow boards are moderated about the same.
Noone is fighting , it's just a freindly exchange of ideas. I still think you should put a message board on your site to talk about road trips , restaraunts
, lodging etc
I think Johnny should moderate the Jra board in you're absence , he'll put those Rangers fans in their place.

I've been out of town and missed all this but I just can't resist putting my 2 cents in about the "official" forum. Deepal may be a nice guy and I trust he was motivated by the best of intentions (and his willingness to contribute to the wonderful cause Otto's golf tournament supports suggests that that is the case), but he is a very poor judge of character in my view. Sour grapes from one of the "banned"?? I think not. I will chalk up his banning of the wrong people and at the same time encouraging the psychos to naivety rather than stupidity or ill will but that forum went to hell when he took over the reins.
As far as the debate about the various forums goes, firstly, I always liked this forum but I get really irritated by the constant pop-ups (so, not a criticism of the content but rather the vehicle). It would be a shame if the JRA forum closes and I think to a certain extent the lack of activity on there right now has to do with the time of the year. Matt's new forum is great and I think that OHLAG's new forum addition has potential for the limited purpose related to his site. At the end of the day, we should all realize that as much fun as we have with these forums they are pretty unimportant in the scheme of life and no one should waste their energy getting into a pissing matchs or a "war of the forums".

from a discussion standpoint I will give you that. However I have formed some great friendships because of these forums. Including one in particular that HAS changed my life and my way of thinking!

"Chicken Bone" has distanced itself from BT , it had well before the season was even over. Now it's used more as a greeting or expression , kinda like a "Green Wigs" version of Aloha or Shalom

It wasn't my intention to minimize that aspect of forum participation. I couldn't agree with you more there. It has been great meeting everyone and having an opportunity to talk to like-minded Knights fans and to join the "green wigs" on some great roadies. (Although I haven't actually had a life altering experience as you seem to have had and I'm dying of curiosity since I have no idea what you're talking about!)
My point though really was that people shouldn't waste any time or energy fighting over the number of forums or which ones are better because that is really unimportant. There are far more pressing issues to debate and waste negative energy on. I have a lot of admiration for fans who have the time and knowledge to set up these forums and I'm thankful for their efforts.

Otto..I'm a 50 drinker brother...therefore a very simple man...by the way folks, I just downloaded the internet onto 2 and 1/2 floppy discs. So If you're smart like me you'll cancel your provider and just copy the discs from me...$3 or a bottle of warm 50 and I'll make ya'll a copy....I can't believe it worked to tell ya the truth.

OHLAG , the Rangers forum is more of a love fest than the Knights board. Those boys can do no wrong , if you can't see that than I suggest you start saving for an optometrist appointment ( Thank-You Mr McGuinty!  )

Well that little bias problem is certainly obvious by the blind defence of Valabik on the NOOF. It irritates the hell out of me when people can't admit the obvious. Characterizing Boris as some kind of saint is just ridiculous. By comparison, most Knights fans have acknowledged the flaws of (for example) Logan Hunter and Danny Bois with no hesitation.
Of course, like anything else it's not 100%. There are some relatively objective non-homer Rangers fans on both JRA and the NOOF.
