Posessive of my name works like this, "emodius" becomes "emodius's familiar"
Pretty cool, but what is it plural possesive emodius's's's's's or something rofl.
The truth is there is no established standard TMK for that. I inquired tot he grammar department a couple years ago and none of the professors could definitively prove a rule applying to this situation. The item i used was "bass"

Either Emodius's or Emodius' is correct, just pick one and stick with it, most prefer Emodius'.
Anyway, I'm just glad Emodius knows third grade grammer, too bad that is as far as he got.

@#%$ happens, I am on the tail end of my 12 hour work shift.
Looks to me like you are on the receiving end of infant oxygen deprivation, instead.

You can pick something like this. There is no clear rule. So if your writing a term paper, pick one of the two and use it during your entire paper. Don't use both, one or the other.
Re: Ok grammar dunces, here is your chance
you clearly are a higher authority than the entirety of the English department of Rutgers. Good luck justifying that. Jesus any shred of credibility you just had went out of your ass with your brain the last time you farted.

So there is no correct way to do that then? Okay, if you say so.
Re: Ok grammar dunces, here is your chance
I didnt say that, but for you to masquerade as if you would know such a thing is preposterous. better minds than yours (read:the vast majority of pre schoolers in thsi country) have no idea, why would you?

Well the English department I asked told me that keeping it consistent was correct. Either is acceptable, they said.
Re: Ok grammar dunces, here is your chance
Llan, I have am 100% sure you didn't ask anyone. Stop lying please. They probably assumed the rest of your writting was crap anyway, as your imaginary English Department probably didn't want to speak to the guy who was pouring sawdust on some students barf 10 minutes before.
If you pick one and use it, then invariably, you will be consistently wrong. Let us look at he/she/it. I could say, look at Llan, she is an idiot, and from your hair I would be justified. In reality you are a boy, however. So if I were to just "pick" something and remain consistant, then I would be doomed to eternal Llanish ignorace, and stupidity, and I do not accept that.

Re: Ok grammar dunces, here is your chance
The reason you must pick is because there is no clear rule.
Using your example, if there was a person with both sex organs and no defining other features, calling them her/she or him/he would correct as long this person had no preference and you kept it the same.
However if you said he one time, then she the other. You would be wrong, regardless.
